iMac to Surface Pro is not a standard display connection. There may be some advanced configuration needed to make that work. The JCC153G is designed to connect a USB-C video port to and HDMI input on a display.

Posted .The USB-C to 4K HDMI Cable requires a USB-C port with DisplayPort Alt Mode support to output video, without this feature, it won’t function properly.

Defective-Poor Warranty and Service

Because of the return policy from Best Buy, I was not able to return it or replace it. I had to contact the manufacturer directly and they offered me a replace BUT I have to pay for shipping. Now this cable didn't cost me $38, will cost me $48, plus no warranty that it is going to work. Really bad experience, I expected more from the brand (because wasn't cheap) and also from Best Buy to exchange me the cable since it was defective in 2 weeks!! Not buying this brand again. Stay with the original, in this case Apple!

Posted .The USB-C to 4K HDMI Cable is a PnP cable. It uses s computers hardware such as DP Alt Mode for the cable to function correctly. Please make sure the computer is up to date. Please contact our Technical Support Team, so that they can get more information from you. This product does have a 2 year limited warranty and they should be able to help you troubleshoot or set up a solution. Thank you.

It's a cord...

My only complaint is I wish it came in black as well as the standard white for this item. The rest of the cords are black and this one sticks out like a sore thumb. It's not a deal breaker.

If you need a USB-C to HDMI adapter that includes a charging port to power your laptop or other USB-C devices while connecting to an external display, the JCC155G or JCA379 are some examples available.

Posted .Mondot, I regret to hear about the JCC153G not working for you. The USB-C to HDMI cable is a plug-and-play model and requires no software installation. In the case where it is not outputting video, it is possible your device does not support video output via USB-C. Depending on what device you have and it's operating system, we may be able to recommend something that will work.
