Garbage at this price point

Owned for 2 weeks when reviewed.This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.The Cable will work for the most part, but it lacks the flexibility, and apparent QA/certifications of lesser priced models from groups like Cable matters. Currently in use through a Surface Dock to a 1440p monitor, and will drop out, or not come back resuming from a timeout/screen lock requiring a removal and plugin to bring the monitor back. It's twin for the second monitor, a cable matters does not exhibit this curiosity. Does it work? Yes, but at $35 for a cable, I expected a much better experience.

Posted .The USB-C to 4K HDMI Cable requires that a device must support DisplayPort Alt Mode features to transmit audio and video signals. Without that feature, you will be able to use a PnP product. Please refer to the manufacturer of your hardware for more information on your device. Thank you.

Posted .Make sure your laptop’s USB-C port supports DisplayPort Alt Mode. Not all USB-C ports can output video.
A different HDMI port on the monitor (if available).
A different monitor or TV.
A different USB-C device (like another laptop or phone that supports video output).
Also install any USB-C or Thunderbolt driver updates from your laptop manufacturer.
Perfect for watching video on a bigger screen

Not What I Was Hoping For…

Did not work as advertised

Did not work. Lengthy online chat with tech help still couldn't get it to work. I ended up having to return it and buy another (more expensive) dual monitor adapter, which works for my application.

Please refer to the manufacturer of your hardware for more information on your device. Ensure that you have the latest graphics drivers installed on your Lenovo laptop. Outdated drivers can sometimes cause compatibility issues with external displays. Visit the Lenovo support website and download the latest drivers for your specific laptop model.

Worst coverter ever used

It says it supports 4K-60Hz which I used it with my Microsoft Surface Book 2 + Philips 2560x1080 monitor. All my screen full of small static dots moving around. And signal gone every 15-30 seconds for a 3-5 seconds all screen goes totally black. Then I just bought Microsoft's usb to hdmi adapter and everything is perfect now.

Lasted less than three months

Used it to connect my laptop to an external LG monitor. Cable stopped working in August 2021, less than 3 months after I bought it. Of course, the return window was only about 3-1/2 weeks so it was long past at three months. Bought a replacement through Amazon, we'll see how long this one lasts, hopefully the new brand I bought is better than this one.

Posted .The USB-C to 4K HDMI Cable is designed to connect USB-C-enabled devices to an HDMI display. However, older Apple Cinema Displays typically use Mini DisplayPort or DVI connections, not HDMI. This means the JCC153G cable would not directly work with your Apple Cinema Display unless your display has been adapted to HDMI input.
