I didn't end up needing this and the chord is very short - I'm sure fine to go from laptop to monitor if very close to each other

And even wouldn’t connect MacBook Pro to TV. But it works just fine for pc laptop connection and it’s more tidy to not have a big thick hdmi cable sticking out of my laptop, just the usb-c.

The JCC153G should have no problem connecting an IPad Pro with USB-C to another display, the same goes for a MacBook with Thunderbolt 3 ports. I would recommend contacting j5create support for troubleshooting assistance to get the cable to work with all of your devices.
