This is a great adapter if you just need to add an additional HDMI monitor through a USB type C port that supports display port alternate mode. You also get the benefit of an additional USB type A port and another USB type C port that allows passthrough charging. Thank you for taking your time to leave a review.

It works well without any drivers needed.

Unfortunately, I did not realize the adaptor lacked an Ethernet Jack, so I had to use Wi-Fi. I purchased the laptop so that I could give lectures requiring Powerpoint where a laptop had to connect through HDMI to a projector. Although I tested the laptop and this adapter with my home TV before I was to give my first lecture and it worked fine, I found that the adapter did not work with the HDMI cable at the classroom, so I had to borrow someone's laptop that had a built-in HDMI port. I really don't know if the issue was the HP laptop or this adaptor. Its other ports work fine.

Posted .The HDMI port works off a feature called "DisplayPort Mode" for video out over USB-C via computer. Please make sure the input source on a TV/monitor or projector is correct. It lets me content from a usb-c type tablet or cellphone to a hard drive. It also allows you to connect your devices to your tv through a HDMI cable. Some content might not let you stream but it’s because of your device and not this adapter.

Good for my WFH little set up

I was able to connect another monitor and USB Bluetooth adapter for my mouse. For the price, it worth it for me

The new MacBook Air doesn't have the slots needed that I use. This works just fine. Would have been nice to have also had a slot for my Sans Disk...But I am happy with this.

This frees up the remaining USB-c port

I purchased this because, well, why not I have tried everything else. Simple plug and play installation! The passthrough charging works great and now I am effectively running dual 4K monitors in clamshell mode.
