It hooks up to my ipad with no problem at all and no setup. I just plugged it into ipad & tv and it displays a perfect picture

The JCA379 is a plug and play adapter, you just need to ensure that you plug it into a USB-C port like a Thunderbolt 3 that supports video out. It also has a USB-A port and a USB-C charging port.

This peripheral allows me the flexibility in need to add multiple devices and charge at the same time.
