I wanted to have another monitor attached to my new iMac and I was told this would do the trick. Even though the iMac recognized the external monitor the external monitor would never work and did not recognize the iMac.For what its worth I don't know who was at fault the monitor or the port.

Posted .This Adapter works off a feature called "DP Alt Mode" for video out and "Power Delivery" for pass-through charge over USB-C through a computer. Did not work for me

Unfortunately when I tried connecting it to my iPad to screencast it, it only showed the Lock Screen and it wouldn’t show beyond that. I bought an actual Apple one and that one worked wonderfully, so unfortunately this one just didn’t work whatsoever.

Thank you for providing a review of the J5Create adapter. This is a good device for the value. I am sorry to hear that you are not able to charge your laptop through the adapter. The adapter is designed for pass through charging to keep your laptop charged while using it with the adapter. However in some cases you may need a higher wattage charger to power your device and the adapter than what came with your laptop. Posted .Depending on your device, it will have to support "DisplayPort Alt Mode" for video out via HDMI, since that port as well as the others are Plug n Play, no drivers needed. Please refer to the manufacturer of your hardware for more information on your device. We apologize for the inconvenience.

Nothings but problems on multiple phones and computers with disconnecting and overheating. Started falling apart in the first few weeks of having it. Save your money and look elsewhere.
