Does not work well with Samsung Note 8

It "works" in that it does output to HDMI, but the charging pass-through does not charge the Note 8 faster than the phone uses battery (or really at all). This product only seems good for short periods of use, unless you fully charge your phone beforehand.

Connecting HDMI is finicky

Posted .Finicky HDMI connection can be annoying and ruin a good night; we apologize for the experience you had with the JCA379. It is possible the HDMI cable you were using may have been defective, or the JCA379 itself required an exchange. In this case, we would recommend contacting support on the casing to speak to a rep and narrow down the root of the problem and they will be happy to assist.

Does Not Work On My Nitro 5 Laptop

I have returned the item a while back when looking for the right USB to HDMI cable.

Posted .It appears the Nitro 5 laptop does not specify whether or not it supports video output via USB-C and therefore we cannot guarantee the JCA379 will work for your needs. Because you have USB 2.0 ports on there, we can recommend a JUA254 for example and that will work for you once you download and install the software required.

In order to output video from the HDMI port the USB-C port on your device must support DisplayPort Alternate Mode. In order to charge with the adapter the USB-C port on your device must support Power Delivery. Posted .Hello Draftdog, I regret to here that the JCA379 is not working correctly. For the HDMI and power in port to work, your tablet would have to have a feature called "DisplayPort Alt. Mode" and "Power Delivery". I recommend calling in to j5create and a representative will help on the issue you are experiencing with the JCA379. Sincerely, j5create

I did a online consult with a best buy associate prior to purchase. Spicifically checking the compatability with my personal devices. I was told the j5create is the one I needed. My device's are not compatable. Also it was hard to find a compatable APP on the model sold. Hopefully I can utilize it elsewhere.
