J5 Creates makes the worse, defective products on the market. Not sure why BB even continues to carry their products. The HDMI ports stopped working 1 month after using. Best Buys does not guarantee their products past 15 days–which should be a red flag–and thus I could not exchange or return. The only way to get a new product is to send it back to the manufacturer, on my dime, and wait until they send back a new product. This could take a few weeks...meanwhile I am out of a much needed product. This is the second J5 product I have bought and had to return to them because it stopped working. Crappy policies. Crappy product. Crappy guarantee. I will NEVER buy a J5 product again and hope to tell everyone not to, either!

But lately the monitors will turn on and off at random and sometimes not coming back at all, which is incredibly inconvenient while working. I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling which has not helped.

That is correct, not all laptops will be able to use all of the video ports on the docking station. There are 2 ports labeled HDMI or Display Port. Only one of those can be used, and only if the USB-C port that you have the dock plugged into has Display Port Alternate Mode. It is great to hear that the docking station is working for you.

Some troubleshooting or setup info would have been welcome. Only one of the HDMI ports worked, making it useless for my purposes. On spec it looked like it would serve all of my purposes. One of the HDMI ports on the JCD 543 requires that the USB-C port from the docking station be plugged into a USB-C port that supports Display Port Alternate Mode. I was able to look up the specifications of your computer and your USB-C does not support Display Port Alternate Mode. If you are primarily looking to add additional monitors through a HDMI connection I would suggest the adapter in the link below. It can add up to 4 HDMI connected monitors through a USB-C connection that does not require Display Port Alternate Mode.
