Posted .Connecting and not recognizing? - sounds like a job for technical support. In the case where the JCD543 is not being recognized/detected on the computer, there is troubleshooting that can be done. A specialist is only a call, ticket, or chat session away and if necessary, we will offer an exchange on the spot! Contact information is found on the casing and an agent will be glad to help.

Too many issues

Do not buy this dock

It had dead ports out of the box. I know this because i have a dock and everything works. I exchanged for another, sometimes things slip through the cracks. 4 days later and it has already failed. I will be returning this. Best Buy needs to address the quality of the product, especially when there are so many better docks for similar money.

The triple display docking station has some specific requirements to get the full functionality out of it. This includes driver installation, and plugging it into a USB-C port that supports Display Port Alternate Mode. Piece of Crap

I had purchased in 16-17 months ago, the device malfunctioned and fried the motherboard on my laptop that I purchase at the same time. This product sucks. I have never had a motherboard die the 20+ years that I've been using a computers.

Posted .The Lenovo must for support PnP devices and some ports on the JCD543 requires drivers for HDMI/VGA and Mic only. Bad for MAC use long term

They require a driver download which can be problematic when working with a laptop provided by a job that has very high security restrictions. I have to return the one I purchased. Why not make it truly plug & play having all ports functional?

Posted .Unfortunately, the HDMI, VGA and Mic require an installation of a driver for proper functionality. Most Windows computers support MST and others don't. Mac does not support MST. Therefor, some of our Docks require drivers for the device to work on computers that do not support that feature. You may have to contact your IT department in order to see if they will allow you to install the software. Cordially, j5.

No Battery - Keeps Freezing - Doesn't Charge Compu

Again, thanks Best buy!

Posted .Hello, the Dock requires drivers and the computer needs to support DisplayPort Alt Mode for video output and Power Delivery for pass-through charge. Problems with Display

Connected the monitor to my Dell Laptop. It worked fine for couple of days. Then the display stared going off and I have to move the cursor to get it back. Later the display was going off even when I was working. So this started affecring my office work. Returning this today.

Posted .Compatibility with the newest M1 macs at this time is troublesome due to drivers not being available and we apologize for the inconvenience this is causing. If you are using an Intel based mac and are on Big Sur 11.1, we have drivers available and if interested, we can provide instructions for you. Either way, we recommend contacting the support team on the packaging in order to obtain install instructions or be placed on the "On-Hold" list and as soon as drivers are available for M1 macs, you will be notified.

Dissapointing

This was suggested to me when I purchased my HP Spectre laptop as recently laptop manufactures are eliminating in/out puts. Best Buy suggested I needed a USB - C power connector.. That did not do the job. When I wrote to J5 they told me I needed a J5 power cord. Best Buy does not carry tis piece. I'm stuck!!

I regret to hear that you were disappointed with the JCD543. The JCD543 does not require external power to work. If your computer charges through USB-C the JCD543 supports passthrough charging and the adapter that came with your laptop may have sufficient power to support charging your laptop through the dock.

Incompatible with many recent laptops

Many laptops do not support this mode, depending on their exact specifications.
