Allows we to hook up 1G Ethernet and external monitor and has extra USB ports to use. Ethernet stopped working but after emailing support they recommend i just reinstall download software and everything is working now. Every now and then external screen flickers but not that often, so otherwise i would give 5 stars.

Download the driver and the usb-c is great.use it with msft surface pro 7. Will not work on 6 or lower surface. What irks me is having to buy a separate power supply. Just add one and increase the price. Save us some time!!!

I really like this. Makes my life easier switching from my personal computer to my firm's laptop. There are so many slots. Could've gotten a smaller one, but I know my future self will appreciate the forethought of this one!

It works to make a station with expanded screens. You can hook up many devices and it makes it easy to plud in and go to work.

Purchased for use with Lenovo Yoga 7i. Really like the number of ports and ease of use for adding variety of products. I would like it to have a 'lock' in function like some of my other PCs. Nevertheless glad I added this to my desk configuration.

So I bought this right at the start if quarantine, I normally work off of three monitors at the office and I was like great this will work for my three home monitors and I can just buy a USB-C to USB-B 3.0 for when I need to use my tower. When I went to use the monitor connections in the back, I was only able to use the VGA and HDMI which are right next to each other, I attempted to connect my third monitor to the other HDMI and my computer(s) (three different laptops) could not detect the monitor. I've tried multiple different converters to see how i could get those ports to work but alas I have not, I have resorted plugging the third monitor directly into my display port on my laptops. I may have to install the driver(s) from the website but unfortunately, due permissions set up on my laptop, I am not able to install outside drivers or software that's not approved by my company. Its a good product but in a world of cable minimization I have fallen short. I would only like 1 cable plugged into my laptop vs 2 but thats just me lol. I have used several of j5create cables and such for a bit so i have no complaints on quality or functionality just wish i could utilize that last port.

Used with my Macbook Pro (touchbar model). It works well and has crystal clear HD displays when plugged into my HP Envy Monitors. Sound and Picture both work well. Ethernet is nice to have as well as more USB ports. Gets a little warm when you plug the macbook charger directly into the dock, so I just plug the dock and charger into my mac separately.

Overall worth it. Has many ports for various plug in. Easy set up. I have two HDMI monitors , lap top. Microphone and phone charge.

Docking station makes connecting another monitor, mouse etc. easier with only one connection to my laptop instead of connecting each item. Also, sitting the back of the laptop on the station not only keeps it out of the way but also slangs the keyboard toward me for easier access.

While it can be called a docking station, it is not well designed and does not have any way to secure it to a post, desk, or other surface that would enable you to stabilize it and get full advantage of the many plug-in sites. Also, I think it would be better if there was an upgrade to Avid Power so that you could be sure that you could adequately support all of the docks and the docking places that it has.

I have the dock connected to a Thinkpad T470s running Ubuntu 18.04. There are three video outs: HDMI/DISPLAY Port, HDMI, and VGA. The first port works without drivers. However, the remaining ports do require drivers, but there peers are not able to use DisplayLink drivers. So on Ubuntu, I had to connect my old docking station to this dock in order to power my second monitor. Because only one of the two monitors is running DisplayLink, my CPU usage is far less than having both monitors using DisplayLink. Using my old dock also extended the total number of ports available. I am also able to hook the dock up to my Samsung Galaxy S20 and use DeX. Some of the peripherals are simply not supported, but I get one monitor, keyboard and mouse.

Many ports and many uses. Does what it needs. Solid!

It wasn't exactly what I wanted, but it works for what I need. I dock my laptop to two older 29" ACER monitors. Neither are capable of Hdmi. They only support DVI or VGA. However, I'm successfully using 2 HDMI to DVI cables to connect to my older monitors. I rated it low only because I found that the Micro SD card slot was broken when I first tried to use it. They want me to disconnect my whole setup and drive it to Geed Squad so they can troubleshoot the issue. It's an hour drive, so I think I'll just keep what I have!

We are using this on an HP laptop and it was easy to configure. You need to go get the driver, do not rely on Microsoft OS. Other than that it has worked for us. Also, buy from Microcenter since Best Buy has decided to not support small businesses that are resellers. I guess it is ok for them to make money, just not us.

I've purchased multiple of these units to replace Microsoft's awful Surface Dock 2 for our Microsoft Surface Pro users as well as used it on many different HP laptops. I purchase this along with the j5create 108W charger to accomplish the pass-through power function for a full docking station solution. On some of the computers, it has been critical to have the driver installed to get full functionality, but with the driver installed we run one or two external monitors and a bunch of USB-A and USB-C devices off of this with no issues. The MS Surface Dock 2 constantly "forgets" how to configure multiple monitors and has to be plugged and unplugged constantly to get it back to working after re-docking or the computer going to sleep. With this j5create dock, we have none of those issues. I'm here today to buy another one for my home office so that the whole family can use the multiple monitor setup in our home office with their own laptops now that everyone has USB-C 3.0 devices. The aesthetics of the device are good enough, could be nicer looking and feels a little "cheap" but it works so well, I'm willing to overlook this. It's not ugly by any means and it actually looks good under some of the HP laptops with a similar color finish. The HP's have no issues sitting on top of the dock as intended. For the Surface computers, you can place the kickstand directly onto it which hides most of the device. With just the single USB cable connecting to the laptop USB-C port for both connection and charging, it's a breeze to come and go as needed. For anyone struggling with the Surface Dock 2 multiple monitor issues, this is a great solution for half the price. For everyone else just looking for a good docking station setup, get this and the j5create 108W USB-C Super Charger and you'll have a great docking station setup. Of course, make sure your computer supports charging from the same USB-C connection or you will be disappointed in my recommendation.
