I had trouble finding a docking station with everything I needed for a reasonable price. Now I can finally have the at home work station I have needed.

Buyer Beware

The usb ports work, but hdmi and display port functionality cannot work because of adapter hardware incompatibility with Apple M1 Silicon. This is the manufacture’s response received 29 days after my initial support email. “Unfortunately, j5create driver-based display adapters and docking stations (like the JCD543) are not fully compatible with M1 Chip Mac computers at this time. This is because M1 Macs use an entirely different processor architecture that does not allow our drivers to properly install. “ The outside packaging makes no mention of this, nor did the Best Buy associate. I am stuck with a very expensive USB adapter. Not happy.

Decent, but not intuitive

It was not as intuitive as I would have liked, though I expected it from the 4 start comments I reviewed. It still occasionally takes my computer a reboot or two to snap to both monitors, but works OK once the computer senses all monitors. Like it, just not intuitive as I would have hoped for, even though I did install all the drivers it needed.

Good docking station for the multi-monitor setup

I use dual monitors attached to this unit via my laptop. It all works wonderfully and I'm very pleased with how simple it was to set up. It also has much more capacity to handle other external products!

This does better than a couple of the others that do not connect on regular basis with USB 3. This seems to recognize the USB on pretty regular basis

This was one of the cheaper quality docks I could find that had both an hdmi and vga port. My only complaint is the short cable that plugs into your computer, however that seems to be the case with all usb-c docks. I was able to purchase a usb-c female to male extension to keep the dock under my desk for a cleaner look. Overall I’m pleased with the dock it has given me zero issues and ran everything I’ve hooked up to it.

A Best Buy employee urged me to buy this one, knowing the model of my laptop, and now they will not refund or let me exchange because it is outside of the window. DO NOT BUY THIS. There is nothing on the packaging that lets you know what machines this will work with.
