Sleek Design - Beware

If that were the only thing I desired, it would be a 5-star rating. That said, after a few weeks, I began noting issues. Monitor-1 would flicker, going blank and returning. The problem escalated to the screen glitching and becoming off-set. I switched monitors, and the problem transferred to Monitor 2 point to a defective docking station. Despite receiving a replacement device, things did not fair well either. The new one failed even more impressively, with the same issue occurring within a week. I was very disappointed as this docking station should work seamlessly, especially at this price point. I replaced it with another one that cost $30 and has had no issues since. In this case, I believe more is less. I would NOT recommend this device.

Posted .The USB-C Triple Display Docking Station requires an available USB-C port that supports DisplayPort Alt Mode and USB Power Delivery 2.0 or 3.0. Not a true triple display setup

This is not true triple monitor setup. The dock is capable of driving two monitors via the USB3.1 ports, however the third monitor is driving by a USB monitor adapter that is built in. OSX Catalina is very strict about certain types of driver installation and if you don't allow EVERY.SINGLE.CHANGE requested by the driver, the third monitor will never work and you will have to do quite a bit of futzing around to get it to work again. There are better options that's cheaper and works better than this.

The JCD543 will allow you to add up to three additional monitors to your laptop. One through a VGA port and another one through a HDMI port; both of these run off drivers that need to be installed on your computer. The third display can connect through HDMI or Display Port and this is only possible if the USB-C port that you plug the dock into on your computer supports display port alternate mode. Perfect for my home office

I am not sure if this is the docking station but sometimes the screens freeze and I have to unplug the station to reset the screens.

Having multiple screens is a great way to increase productivity. The freezing screens may be related to the video drivers on your computer. If the video drivers are outdated I would recommend updating them. If that does not resolve the issue feel free to contact our customer support team for troubleshooting help. Its probably more expensive than I would normally pay, but I thought it would be sleeker on my desk.

The staff person that helped was able to find a adequate compromise as the piece that I needed was not available. I was traveling and left the docking station back at the office. It was good to be able to get to Best Buy late in the evening so I could begin my work successfully right away in the morning.
