A Must Buy!

I haven't had any issue and I've been able to plug in several different monitors into my laptop and use the different types of ports available. Definitely a plus!

Not recommended for Mac with powerful monitor

Even then, it could not handle my G9 monitor when I plugged into it. My G9 monitor has a native resolution of 5120 x 1440, and with this it was stuck at max 3840 x 1080. Tried different cables, tried the "unhide" other resolutions trick, tried different ports, restart device, updates, etc. non of them worked. The metal, while seems ok, the construction of the whole thing seemed pretty cheap, flimsy, creaky. Did not feel like something worth more than $40.

Posted .Unfortunately, the Docking Station HDMI or DP does not support 5120 x 1440, only up to 3840 x 2160. However, the JCA141 will supports 5120 x 1440. Cordially, j5.

This docking station is designed for your laptop to sit on top of it. This will place your laptop keyboard at a slight angle for typing and lift it up for some added air flow underneath. Also don’t forget the fact that this docking station will allow you to add three additional monitors to you laptop plus several other useful ports. Thank you for your review.

Not a plug and play VGA.

Tech support assisted promptly; it was not a one step fix. Would have gone with something else had I known the ridiculousness. Once you get the download and the update installed, the VGA will never turn off; you have to disable your ghost 3rd monitor.

Posted .While the dock does support plug-and-play functionality for many systems, some features, such as multi-display output, requires a driver installation.

Needs driver to display on more than one display

If it is your personal laptop you can probably get it to work fine

Posted .Proper functionality entails downloading and installing a driver on Windows or Mac platform. In order to install the device driver software, it requires that you run the installer as an administrator or contact your system administrator, IT or help desk. Thank you.

Works well with 2 screens, not 3

I wanted 3 screens and the only way to do that is to use vga. Took me a while to figure that out but im a little bummed out on the quality of my 3rd moniter. Other than that it does what it said it would do.

Unfortunately if your computer doesn't support Displayport Alt mode on USB-C it will not allow for multiple monitors. I would think this would be called out clearly as a system requirement. i contacted J5Create for support and this was the first line in theri response. Then they told me I had to contact my computer manufacturer. Turns out very few laptops have this capability and many of the laptops sold by Best Buy do not. So buyer beware!
