It's meant to be placed under your laptop to minimize space usage. But that doesn't mean anything because it doesn't come with a power cord. Yes, you read that right...you spend $100, and it doesn't come with a power cord. You have to spend an additional $50 to get it to turn on.

I would like to alleviate your concerns about the docking station. It does not require the power cord to operate. The power cord option is to allow pass through charging for your laptop.
The dock itself does not require external power to function. If your laptop charges via USB-C you can plug your laptop charger into the dock to allow your computer to be charged.
If your dock is not functioning, I would recommend that you contact our customer support team. They can provide troubleshooting and technical assistance by phone, email, or live chat. Contact information can be found on the device packaging, or on our website in the support drop down.

The next time I came back to the PC, one of the HDMI ports would not work. And I know it is the port because I switched the plugs, and the screen that wouldn't work came on, and the other screen that had been working went dark. I will probably be returning this and getting a refund. Not worth the money. Not even close.

But it doesn't really support 2 additional monitors that well. I keep getting one of the monitors to split into two, acting like i have 4 monitors then: the laptop the docking station is for, Monitor 1, Monitor 2, and some fictitious Monitor 3 which is really just Monitor 1 split into 2, but not down the middle, it's off the left side about 2 inches long. Makes it very annoying.

Posted .Hi Matt, the issue you are experiencing sounds like a resolution/aspect ratio situation. I recommend going to Display settings and adjusting the "Multiple displays" setting and resolution settings and see if that resolves the situation. Disappointing

Only one monitor works. After looking for a solution to the problem on line I learned that this is a common problem with this unit. No one seems to have a solution. For this reason I cannot recommend this product.

Posted .The Docking Station requires a computer to support "DisplayPort Alt Mode" and "Power Delivery" over USB-C for video out via HDMI or DP ports and pass-through charge. Please refer to the manufacturer of your hardware for more information on your device. It will also require an installation of a driver for proper functionality.
