The output for monitors is too graphics intensive for this device and runs clunky and slow. For some reason none of the usb ports work and thats enough to make it not worth the price. Taking it back once i get my new dock from amazon. Took a lot of fiddling around to get it to work on my alienware ultrawide and lg ultragear at the same time

The Alienware ultrawide and LG ultragear may need to be directly connected to the computer if the monitors have G-SYNC. The USB ports are intended for peripherals like mice, keyboards, flash drives. When I connect it works then disconnects monitors/keyboard/mouse, then reconnects them, then disconnects them, and continues that cycle for at least 15 minutes until I unplug it. This happens every time i connect it which has been at least 5+ times.

sucks not enough power

I couldn't make it work on my macbook pro to use with 2 more monitors, had to do some crazy sharing thing, 2. Kept having issues with USBs had a hub and worked half of the time. Like the main reason i wanted a docking station. To keep all my usb power hub together and easy access. never had a problem with a pc docking stations. 3. Software issues i always kept it up to date until now. Aug 2020 would it be worth to spend another 100 dollars? I believe so!

The current version of Mac OS Catalina has some new security settings that will add some extra steps to the installation process for third party devices. I would recommend contacting the j5create customer service team for assistance getting your docking station up and running. Posted .Proper functionality entails downloading and installing a driver on a Mac platform for the HDMI, VGA, and Mic ports to function. Depending on the OS you have, different instructions apply. If you have a new MacBook Pro DO NOT BUY!

It would not connect to a monitor , so I spent several days back and forth with J5 Create support trying their suggestions and reloading the driver multiple times. They even admitted that their software had issues with the latest Mac OS Catalina. I was finally told the docking station was defective and to take it back to the retailer have it replaced, which I did. The replacement had the same issues. Have returned the replacement and purchased a non-J5 Create product.

Didn't work with my computer.

Posted .Hi 5Rich, the JCD543 Triple Display Docking Station has a plug and play HDMI and DP ports which do not require the driver. If you are only able to get one display working, it sounds like the driver was possibly not installed correctly, the driver extensions were possibly not allowed correctly. Does not deliver as advertised

In fact, I could not get more than one external monitor to work even with HDMI. I contacted support with the company and was told that it would not support DP on a Thinkpad, which makes no sense to me. Promptly returning and because of the lack of support from j5create will probably stay away from their other products.

Due to the JCD543 being a hybrid dock, it requires that your computer support Thunderbolt 3, or DP alt-mode via USB-C to obtain full functionality. Alternatively, we have the JCD381 which works off software and that will work with your ThinkPad 17.
