Being behind on updates could cause the j5 device to not function as intended. Within 3 weeks, I had 2 major scam alerts: one was a $20,000 charge to our company credit card, the other tried to impersonate me to change my work direct deposit. The only way someone could've gotten enough information to do both of these is from the information taken when you enable the USB device to do Screen Recording.

Posted .Screen recording just means, it essentially allows video in or out of the computer, video conferencing such as zoom or google meet also requires this to be enabled otherwise they will not work. I was running of Thunderbolt 4 and could only get the HDMI port to work. The SD card slot won't read my camera SD card. So basically it's an over priced 3 port hub for me.

Read reviews, and thought it was a PC issue using this. I have a new MacBook Pro and was looking for a good charging station, and multiple video outputs. I installed the software (kind of shady that it asked me to trust a persons name for the install rather than the company name). Didn’t charge anything. My 4K monitor just bounced in and out repeatedly of showing anything. Don’t waste any time or money on this.

Posted .In the case where you are experiencing issues with the JCD543 and obtaining up to 3 displays, we recommend contacting the technical support team mentioned on the casing and an agent will be able to lend a helping hand in getting you setup. In the case where it is not fully compatible, an agent will makes recommendations for alternatives.

Doesn't work reliably

I wanted a docking station that I could switch different laptops out of so I could use my double screens consistently. The docking station requires drivers that I can't use with my work laptop. I kept it anyways to use with my personal laptops, but switching between the two seems impossible. The connection to the docking station is pretty terrible, and my screens periodically disconnect. Bummer.

Posted .The USB-C Triple Display Docking Station requires that a computer must support DisplayPort Alt Mode to transmit audio and video signals via HDMI or DP port. Please refer to the manufacturer of your hardware for more information on your device. VGA and the stand alone HDMI port require installation of a driver for functionality. Drivers are located on j5create website under the "Support" tab. Available display combinations:

I bought two different j5creates and they are useless. The second one has never worked at all. This works when it is in the mood. Then spontaneously just stops. Then I "troubleshoot" (meaning unplug things randomly) for an hour. No rhyme or reason. Avoid it.

The warning message that you are seeing is from your Mac and it is in regards to the next OS update; Big Sur. OS Big Sur will bring significant changes to your operating system. Our developers are currently working on an updated driver that will be compatible with Big Sur. Once the driver is released and you upgrade to Big Sur you can visit the j5create website to update the driver on your computer. Works great on 2 monitors still, third not so much

Now one of the HDMI ports does not project full gamma. (I have swapped cords, monitors, updated drivers, no ao luck) Happened with cheaper docks, was hoping spending the extra money would prevent this from happening. Anyone has recommendations on a 3 monitor USB c hub with through power, I'm all ears

Posted .The HDMI under the word "OR" is a PnP and a USB-C port must support DP Alt Mode. The other HDMI requires an installation of a driver. The JCD543 does not require a power supply to function, it can be powered by your laptop. It will support pass through charging via a USB-C power supply. I’m sorry that you had to take the time to return the docking station.

Does Not Work

After spending TWO extended sessions with Tech Support from the manufacturer and two more extended sessions with my Geek Squad Total Tech Support Rep’s, they couldn’t fix it and suggested, like several times before on other issues on other equipment, that I’d have to “take it to my local retail outlet” for them to diagnose and repair or replace. Bet this review never makes it to print!

Cheap Junk, No Current Mac Support

I would expect to pay half the price for something like this. Also, this is not driverless for Mac... you need to download and install drivers from the company's website and they do not currently support Big Sur or M1. I would recommend avoiding products from this company. I am returning this.
