Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed.This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.For starters... it has 3 display output PORTS, but you can only use a max of two of them at once. And MacOS does not support DisplayPort daisy-chaining, so the max number of displays you can drive on a Mac with this dock is 2. Second, this requires a driver to be installed. The displayport worked and it's paired HDMI port seemed to work without the driver on a Mac, but the other HDMI port did not. The driver also requires some strange permissions on Mac, which makes it feel like a fragile implementation which can break whenever Apple decides to fundamentally change things (which is very likely). Finally, even with the driver installed, macOS did not recognize the audio out, even with something plugged into it. This is a bummer. With those things in mind, everything else seems to work well, and this dock demonstrates what the power and versatility of USB-C can be, and is almost perfect. We just need to get back to the idea of plug-and-play, and cooperating with well-established standards.

You will need to use the VGA port, the lone HDMI port, and then either the display port or the other HDMI port that are marked ‘Or’. Fantastic docking station

Plenty of USB ports, display port and hdmi. The build quality is fantastic and I have not had a single issue. This docking station is extremely portable.

Posted .Available display combinations: HDMI + VGA + DisplayPort or HDMI + VGA + HDMI.
Host device must have an available USB-C port that supports DisplayPort Alt Mode (video out) for the DP or HDMI port to function correctly.
Driver installation is required for the VGA and stand alone HDMI ports. Driver are available on j5create website under the "Support" page.

Posted .Providing more monitors to one's Mac is what the JCD543 does best, providing the user with additional ports for peripherals, SD card readers, Ethernet and more is a feature of this device on top of resting your laptop on top of it. We're excited to hear it is meeting your needs!

I can plug in most of my devices and because of its smart size, it is not really visible on my desk. All the slots are working and I am glad I choose it to make my ebook versatile but either connecting it to my monitor setup displays or using it alone.

And the stand like configuration really helps keep enough air running under the laptop to deal with heat issues. Nice product at a good price.

Difficult set up

I returned it and purchased a hub specifically for the Mac mini, which was very easy to set up and takes up less space on my desk.

We are able to use them on our Mac pros and dell laptops as they both have thunderbolt adapters. Makes it nice and easy as one cable to the laptop gives us all Of the accessories including power.
