None techie here! I purchased this to assist with adding additional monitors with my Lenovo 7i laptop. I saw in a previous review someone mentioned it worked great with a Lenovo. And it does! I have an old Canon MX452 I was able to connect to through this device. Tip, make sure after adding the drivers, you open your windows device manager. Did not do this at first, and things did not work properly. After opening up the device manager (setting to add a printer) everything worked great...I did not have to add the J5 device...just opened the setting for a window to configure. Anyway this works great!

Be VERY aware, this dock REQUIRES a USB video driver to function. This driver requires installation BEFORE you plug it in, and it requires extended security permissions to install correctly. THIS IS NOT plug and play. Because they use this driver it is very Mac OS system version dependent and introduces a layer of complexity many MAC users may not want to deal with. Just be informed ahead of time. Unfortunately there are few alternatives that will support the breadth of connectors this dock provides and it may be a necessary evil, depending on what you need.

A docking station that has all the ports I need and then some ! Just what is needed for today's laptops that have almost no ports !

Let me just say this, I always do an extensive research and comparison before buying any electronics and this dock is a great bargain! The dock is so slim that you won't even notice it while placing it under the laptop. It offers everything I need, extra USB ports, Ethernet, card slots, and it supports 100W power delivery! My favorite detail is the cable storage where I can hide the cord. I would recommend this USB-C dock all day long at its price. Also, it's very light but durable. According to the packaging, the product is made in Taiwan :)

This dock works excellent! Before this, I had purchased several different dongles that weren't doing the job and were clunky. While they were affordable, I decided to spend the money on this and only have one thing to plug in and it worked immediately and flawlessly with my two Dell monitors. Very pleased with this purchase.

(Purchased In-Store) I bought this to go along with a new ASUS ROG Ryzen laptop. I switched from an Intel Razer that had Thunderbolt so I needed a new "has it all" USB-C hub. I use this to connect one of my two external monitors (display port, 1440p 120Hz), keyboard, mouse, RJ45 gigabit ethernet. Works perfectly. It is a bit expensive but well worth the money, it is on par with some popular Thunderbolt alternatives.

I bought this docking station in October of 2022, it worked great until the beginning of January. For my setup, I have a gaming PC and a work laptop with dual monitors linked through a TESmart dual monitor KVM switch, I use this docking station strictly for my work laptop. I first started to notice one of my screens was flickering on and off but didn't really think much of it other than it being semi annoying things were still working. This past Monday I came down to my office to work and one of my screens wouldn't turn on at all, coincidentally I thought it was the same monitor that had been flickering. I thought maybe the monitor had gone out, upon switching my KVM to my PC both screens lit up no problem. I swapped this docking station out for another one and have had no issues. So for the price and only getting roughly 3 months of no issue use out of it, it was not worth the money. I was hesitant to buy it in the first place, but it was the only option at my local Best Buy.

Using with my new 2019 MacBook Pro. Excellent docking station. Adds all of my ports and a really simple installation. I am now able to have my keyboard, mouse, 2 monitors, external hard drive, and even power all plugged in with a single connection! Perfect!

Functionally - this is a decent docking station with many ports to support numerous devices. Unfortunately, USB-C input chord is very sensitive and constantly loses signal with my two screen set up. If i even think about nudging the chord with my mouse, I lose connections to my devices and have to spend a few minutes plugging everything in and out again to get it to work. I have had this device for over a year and more than likely will spend the extra money on a higher quality device. There are cheaper devices that seem to work better than this one.

Its fine for what I needed it for but I would not recommend for a professional environment. The headphone jack and second HDMI port do not work with Android devices but it is fine with Windows and Linux. Did not test the VGA port.

The docking station works fine when my laptop is on, but it's incredibly finicky when it is off. It seems to power off every usb device when my laptop is asleep, meaning I can't wake it with an external mouse or keyboard. It also makes a high pitched whining noise when my laptop is asleep, which drives me crazy. I was hesitant about j5, now I know it's cheap, I will be returning this item and buying an Anker hub.

Good value product. Still have one monitor that doesn’t work via the dock but everything else works

I recently received a replacement dock and I'm still unable to display my 2nd monitor. I can only see the laptop and one monitor. The USB Display Device diagnostics message - USB Station: The T6 DriverKit extension has claimed the device and is driving it. I've changed cables, purchased new cables, connected other laptops, powered the Macbook Pro separately but nothing seems to fix this same problem I've experienced for the entire time I've owned the dock. On the rare times I reach customer service they can't diagnose the problem and send me to Apple who send me back to J5. Support is very limited the times they're available (8-5 EST) makes them near impossible to reach. I'm running out of patience AND ideas. Don't roll the dice with this dock. BB has other options that have to be better than this.

Most docks I looked at can only handle 2 monitors, this can do 3 and includes VGA as an option for older monitors. Nice design with the connector cable which can come from either side of the dock.

It took a significant amount of time wrangling with this thing to get the two external monitor configuration going on my Mac, and when it finally did work, there were significant issues that immediately became apparent rendering this thing useless. 1. While you can connect two external monitors to the device, only one HDMI port acts as a passthrough to your computer's video card. The other is its own video card built into the device requiring its own separately installed and privacy-authorized driver. This wouldn't be that big of a deal were it not for the fact that the driver presents a different color temperature than the screen served by the Mac's on-board video card (the Mac's has a warm tone, the j5create's has a cool tone). If you are a graphic designer, as I am, who depends on consistency of color tone across monitors, this device is less than worthless. 2. In addition to the color temperature issue, the mouse cursor disappears form the j5create-served screen after waking from sleep, requiring a complete reboot to get the cursor working again. 3. If any device is plugged into the powered USB port, an error pops up on screen saying to unplug the device as it is draining excessive power and therefore circumventing the functioning of the USB hub. To top it off, once you open the box, there's a card with a big red warning that says not to return it to the store if you're unsatisfied with your purchase but to call them for help. Sorry, j5, the only way you can help is by not making crappy products. I'm taking it back right now.

UUUuggghh. Should have read reviews before buying. You can only use this for 3 monitors if one of them uses a VGA (eye roll). It shows one 4k port, and 2 HDMI ports but it CANNOT accept 2 HDMI ports (one of them is labeled 4k OR hdmi). No clue why this was created like this. That's pointless. It was soooo expensive for what it offered. It really shouldn't be advertised as a triple monitor and say there are 2 HDMI when there aren't.
