    one by one the USB, ethernet, and display port all stopped working despite numerous troubleshooting attempts. Sometimes the ports that are down will randomly work again, then back to being busted. Spring from something a little more expensive to avoid these headaches

    Works as advertised with my m1 macbook

    Followed the directions and now I have a triple external monitor setup for work. One 4k. One 1440p. And one 1080p. Drivers can be a little buggy with the newest MacOS but toggling display resolution fixes it.

    If you value your computer do not purchase this. I purchased it in order to use my Apple air as a desktop computer within months of the dock overheating my Apple air which I had for less than two years stopped working due to battery issues. I purchased a new MacBook Pro and it has been less than 30 days and the only thing that I plug it into is this station and now I have lost my MacBook Pro to the same issue. Losing over thousands of dollars in My computer purchase because of the dock is not worth it. And all they can offer is an exchange. I refuse to plug any of my computers into the station

      I regret that your experience with the docking station has been than ideal. The manufacturer’s warranty covers replacement of the device. The reason for the exchange is so that the device that you purchased can be tested to determine the root cause of the issue and to test the new device before it is sent to you to ensure that it is working properly.     I bought this unit for use at our church to handle connectivity to multiple monitors, wired internet and audio line-out for streaming our services. It worked great for most of 5 months at 2 hours at a time, weekly -- really light duty. But today one of the display adapters, the network adapter and the audio adapter all failed. We hobbled along with 1 external display, wifi and no sound. Maybe we just got a bad unit -- it was great until it failed. But I probably won't buy this brand again.

    Stopped working

      Uninstall and reinstall the drivers by visit the j5create support website.

      Check to see if there are any available updates for your computer as well.

      If possible, connect the dock to a different USB-C compatible computer to determine if the issue is specific to the dock or your computer.

    Did Not Work on My Windows Laptop

    This product does not work on windows devices. The J5 tripple display dock would only connect to one screen on my new windows computer. The "A" port would not work. At first customer support told me that my computer was not compatible. My computer is brand new, so I double checked the specs and it was compatible with MAC's. I spoke with a Geek Squad representative and he said that the triple display doc is designed to work on MAC's. I really wish it worked.

    Does not work with Macbook M1 and causes overheating on MS Surface. Also, the ethernet port randomly disconnects which is super fun in the middle of a video call. Tried to get support from J5create and the driver download was down. When I finally got it it installed some janky USB driver thing because it does not support displaylink. Total garbage.

      The Docking Station supports M1, M1 Pro, and M1 Max computers. The HDMI, VGA, and Mic requires an installation of a driver, which can be found on our website under the Support tab > Downloads/Drivers. “Magic Control Technology”, “USB Display Driver”, and “DJTVirtualDisplayAgent” must be allowed through by going to your Security & Privacy > General tab. The rest of the ports are PnP. Connect an Ethernet cable to Dock, then to a router or modem. Go to Network and locate "USB 10/100/1000" and connect. ** Feel free to contact j5create Technical Support by Live Chat or Email if you require further assistance.     Barely works.

    Maybe I got a defective product but regardless im going to write a review just in case anyone else has these same issues. Two issues specifically that made me return this item. Note; These issues came up with a 2017 Macbook Pro 15 Inch with the Catalina update 1. When connecting 2 hdmi displays one of the displays runs at a noticeably lower refresh rate than the other. The is specific to the port that the hdmi is connected to on the dock, I switched them back and fourth and whatever display it was connected on had low refresh rate. This i found super annoying as i constantly switch between monitors(why i bought the thing) 2. 100% of the time when connecting the usb c cable from the dock to the Macbook pro. One of the monitors always doesnt output video, this happens 100% of the time. The fix to this would be to disconnect the hdmi that is working and then the dock will force output to the non working HDMI, then, once the non working hdmi is outputting video, reconnect the other hdmi and then youll have 2 pictures. You HAVE to do this everytime you connect the dock to the computer and its stupid. It defeats the whole purpose of a dock. Overall I am quite dissatisfied with this product. I cant even say you get what you paid for because $100 for a docking station is pretty up there.

    Garbage, absolute Garbage!

    This thing is absolute garbage. It barely generates any power. It's about as useful as a cheap non powered USB hub. Seriously. When I contacted the manufacturer, they told me to get the power adapter so I had to spend another $70. Guess what? It made no difference at all. Garbage, absolute Garbage!

    DO NOT PURCHASE IF YOU HAVE A NEW MacBook Air. After spending $99.99 on this display dock, I come to find out on their website that they are not compatible with my new MacBook Air. All j5create products do not work with macOS® Big Sur 11. Avoid at all cost!

      As of today 11/30/20 we do not have software drivers that are compatible with MacOS Big Sur. Our developers are currently working on updating our drivers to work with Big Sur. We will have a notification on the j5create website when the drivers are ready for Big Sur.

    Not compatible for Catalina

    Instructions said to update drivers before using. So, I went to J5create website and in large red font, it says item not compatible with the new MacBook Pro Catalina system. They are not sure when they'll have the drivers to make it compatible. This is a bust. Will return.

    Doesn't work for MacBook Pro (13-inch, M1, 2020)

    This does not work for a MacBook Pro (13-inch, M1, 2020). It says that it works for Mac but doesn't specify. Apparently you can only use one display on a MacBook Pro M1. Also, when I did try this my wireless mouse would not work. Maybe it works for other computers but not mine. For $100+ it felt very cheap as well.

This Docking Station also requires a driver and depending on the OS you have, different instructions apply. For a wireless mouse not to work on a device, may be experiencing RFI (Radio Frequency interference). Try testing with a wired USB mouse.     This dock consistently has problems with MacOS. Un/Reinstalled drivers several times. Spoke with j5create support and they could not get to the root of the issue. I would personally avoid this brand of products. Go with a traditional multi-port usb-c dongle.

    What a pice of junk

    I have a Dell 3100 docking stain and no problems hooking up 3 additional monitors to my work laptop (It is an HP ZBook Laptop with a 6 core Xeon CPU and 64 gigs of RAM). I purchased another 3 monitors and this docking station for my own laptop and out of the two HDMI and one Display Port - only the first HDMI port seems to be working. The second HDMI port is dead, and so is the display port. My own laptop is an MSI GS series with a 6 core i7-9750 CPU and 64gigs of RAM. Both laptops have USB 3.1 and USB-C ports. Both laptops work flawlessly with the Dell docking station, and for both laptops the JB docking station does not work. If I was JB I'd be embarrassed for offering such low quality defective product. Avoid.

    Easy setup with unreliable performance

    Easy to setup. The performance is unstable. It is great when it works. I have 2 monitors, a webcam/speakerphone combo, a mouse, and a wireless keyboard are connected. Some days the other monitor cannot be detected and other days it is the mouse or the keyboard and some days it is all 3. I am researching other alternatives.

    Failed at 9 months

    After about 9 months this station started to lose connection to one monitor randomly. I dealt with this annoyance for awhile until I started to get a connect/disconnect alert constantly, making it impossible to have my speakers on without listening to that. I tried everything from updating drivers, rebooting, digging through settings and contacting tech support. Tech support's response was not helpful. It worked fine at first. then, nothing but a headache.
