This product was very easy to set up and plug in. I use dual monitors attached to this unit via my laptop. It all works wonderfully and I'm very pleased with how simple it was to set up. It also has much more capacity to handle other external products!

This is exactly what I was looking for to connect both of my monitors to my laptop, duel monitoring. This docking station is pretty good.

I thought this was a dud until I downloaded the proper drivers for it, then it became a boss. The extra ports and the ability to run 2 hdmi displays made it a great buy!

I follwed all the directions to a T and I could not get either of my laptos to connect to my dual monitors. I have a lenovo and a dell . I downloaded the drivers and each laptop would only detect the one monitor. I went on forums talked to tech friends and no one could figure out why it wouldnt work with either of my laptops and dual monitors. I have relatively new laptops and my monitors are only 2 years old. I have concluded this is defective and I am returning it today. Not worth the money or the hassle.

This docking station is good in terms of portability and ease of use. It was working well for one of my laptops but the other one required switching the HDMI cable to an alternate port every time. There is no power cord included as well. Not a show-stopper given the reasonable price though

So nice to not have to reach under my desk to plug in my laptop to charge any more. The docking station sits off to the side on my desk, making it very convenient for me to plug into my laptop.

I haven't used it as much as i thought i would. But it worked well for the few months i needed it. I'm glad it's here in case i need it again.

Very easy to install and works great would recommend to anybody needing one

This is truly plug and play. I was truly surprised at that aspect of it. Sleek and trim and easily tucked behind the monitor.

The docking station is state of the art in aesthetics and functionality.

I bought this for use with a Macbook Pro (M1 processor) towards the end of August 2022. My primary purpose was to have additional USB ports with an attached external monitor. When I initially installed the docking station, the attached monitor (tried both Display port cable and HDMI cable) wasn't recognized by the MAC. Spent some time trying to figure out what was going on, and finally found a support topic on J5's website. Had to install some additional drivers and enable an option for the monitor to be recognized. After installing the driver and changing some settings per the support topic on J5 site, I was finally, was able to get the monitor recognized and working. However, anytime I unplugged any of the other USB devices from the docking station, the monitor would no longer be recongized, and I had to go through the install process again. Fast forward another few days, and I began receiving an error message indicating the USB ports were no longer recognized at all while using the docking station unless I disconnect the monitor altogether. So, i could either use an external monitor, or I could use the USB ports of the docking station, but not both at the same time. I even purchased the additional power supply unit for the specific docking station hoping the added power would help, but that didn't change anything. Finally gave up and returned the item to BestBuy. Definitely do not recommend this particular brand of docking station.

Works fine but directions are minimal and power supply is not provided. Works OK.

Using on my Dell Inspiron Ryzen 5 At first I had issues to download drivers from their site but after that worked I have had no issues using this for the past several weeks. Using UCB connections to a CNC, programmer, printer etc and they stay connected day after day and no issues with the two HDMI screens I am running from the laptop which I just leave closed and sitting on a shelf.

I have an HP Omen 15 from like 2021/2-ish. I recently needed a docking station for it and happened to be at my local store looking at all of the different options. This one seemed to be the best one and nothing on the box stated that it would not be compatible with my device. It wasn't until I had gone through about an hour of setup, troubleshooting, and research that I found out that this item would not be compatible with my laptop. J5Create needs to be a lot more clear in their product descriptions, Quick Start guides, and website to show what devices will and won't be compatible with this item. So disappointed. I will have to return this item and I will not be trusting this brand until they clear up this issue. Shame on you J5.

Easy to install. Numerous ports to support several plug-ins.

I completed my home office and I needed a dock that would allow me to use my work laptop and personal laptop for my two monitors. I picked this item up while I was in-store. Firstly, it's a well made device. It feels sturdy and all the inputs secure the connecters well. I love all of the connections it offers. It does its job fine as a dock, but that really all I can say about. One negative is that I had to install drivers in order for it to work properly. I've never had to do that for any of the docks I've used in the past, so keep that in mind if you have a work laptop because your IT security policy may not allow to install the drivers. Another thing that I'll count as a potential negative was that when I used the two HDMI outputs to my monitors, I had some weird screen mirroring on the far-right side of my secondary monitor. Tried different HDMI cables and the problem persisted. I ended up buying a Display Port cable for the secondary monitor and had no problems ever since. Also, this dock supports 3 monitors via VGA, HDMI and Display Port. You kind of have to pick and choose which connections you want use. One of the HDMI ports is linked to DP so you can't do HDMI/HDMI/DP. A triple monitor setup will have to involve the VGA connector (VGA/HDMI/HDMI or VGA, HDMI, DP).

What a steal for the ports and the capacity of the docking station ports. Awesome deal on the price. My new works well with it.

Fantastic Docking set up. Easy to use and install drivers, and quintessential if running multiple monitors for a laptop like I do for medical school.

I love the longer cable and the way everything connects. It was not as intuitive as I would have liked, though I expected it from the 4 start comments I reviewed. It still occasionally takes my computer a reboot or two to snap to both monitors, but works OK once the computer senses all monitors. Like it, just not intuitive as I would have hoped for, even though I did install all the drivers it needed.

I was given a Mac for work and wanted to extend its capabilities to monitors, USB slots, ethernet cord (when my wireless connection is acting) up, and a couple of other things. It's worth mentioning that I went through three different docking stations I purchased on Amazon and even though they claimed 'Mac compatibility', one thing or another wouldn't work. With one, the Mac wouldn't shut down or go to sleep - thought it was the settings, but that wasn't the case. Another didn't allow me to project two monitors even though it claimed it did (sigh). What's worse, a month or so ago, an update was pushed out by Apple that did not permit non-certified docking stations to be used so future hardware problems can be prevented. Annoying but understandable. I chatted with a colleague at work who recommended a couple of brands he uses for his Mac. Based on some heavy duty research, I ended up settling on this guy and then crossed my fingers. So far it works but, specifically in my situation, there was an issue of not being able to have my two Dell monitors extended. I was under the impression if I plugged them in the j5create, one via HDMI port, and another in the DPA (bought a little HDMI adapter for it), that all would work. What I failed to realize is that the USB Type-C cable isn't strong enough to support output for two monitors, so what I ended up doing is getting a USB-C to HDMI cable and plugged the second monitor directly into the Mac. I could have easily misunderstood the capabilities of this particular docking station, but the Mac goes to sleep and shuts off fine now. Monitor extension could present a problem for Mac users whose laptops only have two Thunderbolt ports because they'll use up the ports. I lucked out because mine has four.
