I was traveling for work the first time I unboxed to use it and when I connected to the laptop I received a notification that I would need a power supply as my laptop was not sufficient. I was unaware that this would be the case and did not want to buy the optional power cord, so I returned to Best Buy.

I purchased this docking Station device because of all the variance of chargers and interfaces available- especially with the USB-C Triple display for multi monitor setup. This device plugged and played with Windows. If using it with Mac devices and laptops it will need the (web-based located) drivers downloaded on to it. The USB built into this device will not run the regular USB Mac SuperDrive from Apple as they are not a powered USB input.

It was easy to set up and it works well. The only reason I can't give it more than three stars is that it requires tethering to a separate power cord; I would think it would be a lot more convenient if there was pass through power on this.

No multiple displays with MacBook pro

I had been looking for a dock with both an hdmi and vga output. But apparently, it does not work as intended with macbooks. It was all over j5create's website but there was no indication before purchasing. Otherwise, this would have worked well.

We are currently working on updated drivers that will allow our devices to work with Big Sur. As of today 12/21/2020 we do not have an ETA on when the drivers are going to be released. We will have an announcement on our website when the drivers are ready. Then you will be able to install the updated drivers and get both monitors to work with your computer. This uses only one port, but supplies two usb-c inputs, Allows pass through charging, and has two HDMI inputs... a must for my photo work. I do like the way it rests under the laptop. This tips the keyboard slightly, which seems to make typing a bit easier on the wrists. All in all; Im pleased. Could be cheaper, but then again; everything could be.

It gets very hot and periodically stops working, causing my mouse and keyboard to freeze or the external monitors to disconnect. I downloaded the driver from the j5create website, hopeful it might resolve the issue, but it didn't help. Overall, it works, but the periodic shut downs cause issues in productivity.

Very good product

The reason it's not a 5 star review is that the power pass-through is not at the exact spec of my laptop so I get a weird warning on reboot. It seems to charge fine, but the warning is annoying.

Would not recognize 2nd monitor

I followed the instructions in the manual to make sure it would work. This unit has 2 DP and 1 HDMI. One of the display ports would not recognize the second monitor. I moved cables from port to port and that 2nd port never picked up. I never even got a chance to use all three monitors.

Thank you for your feedback. I hope that I can clear up some of the difficulty that you are having with the docking station. If you are looking at the display outputs on the back of the docking station; the first two on the left are HDMI and DP. Only one of these two can be used at a time. Going to the right there is another HDMI port and a VGA port. Both of those can be used simultaneously together with one of the first two ports. If you have any further questions I would recommend that you contacting our customer service team. They can assist with troubleshooting or any other questions that you may have. Their contact information is on the product packaging and on our website under the ‘Support’ drop down.

Easy to use docking station with my new iMac 24

Easy to download the software for Mac and easy to use. - just follow the instructions. Provides access for 13 separate functions. I may not need them all but it is good to know that they are there if I need them.
