Works great and there are plenty of HDMI and USB ports to attach monitors, printers, bluetooth adapters and other outputs. Be sure to download the drivers from the J5create website before using, and you should be up and running in no time.

Very specific kind of USB-C port

But it’s so specific to a certain kind it didn’t work for what I needed but everything else worked fine. The size is more for bigger laptops. I had a 13 inch. It felt like decent quality. I’ve learned twenty dollars more can get me multiple usb-c thunderbolt 3 and/or 4ports at OWC.

The JCD543 needs to plug into a USB-C port that supports display port alternate mode. Thunderbolt 3 ports do support display port alternate mode. I am sorry that the hub did not suit your needs.

Needs a charger

Problem is it requires a 100w USB c charger which is not just any old USB c charger. J5create sells a adapter charger for this and it should have been included.

Need a Plug?

I was able to find this really nice one at Best Buy. It has so many ports that can be used. I have yet to have a problem with it having a shortage unlike others. I do wish the cord was a tad bit longer.

A decent small dock for some

Worth the purchase

It's hard to get installed for older laptops. Use only with laptops that have the USB-C port. When you install an adaptor, you will have to use the HDMI port on the laptop and one on the Docking station for older laptops

Posted .Generally, adapters emit some heat as a normal part of its operation, especially if the USB-C pass-through charging, Ethernet and/or all ports on the hub are utilized. Please note that hotter operating temperatures can be expected..

Probably my lap top is old. I was empress with the quality and all the different cards it can read.

Probably will need an apple adapter to make this work. Otherwise the software download was seamless and I am up and running. The device does get warm but I believe this is normal with most docking stations. So far I am not disappointed.

I am happy that you are not disappointed with the docking station. You are correct that docking stations will generate some heat, so this is to be expected. Regarding the dock not being able to connect to your older monitor: if your older monitor does have a VGA port it should work with the dock. If this is the case with your monitor, you can save yourself a trip and some money by contacting our support team for assistance. One Plug N Go!

Allows a one plug connection to charge and increase the number of ports available. Two external monitors, and other peripheral devices connected with no issues.

Didn't work with older laptop

I did reach out to J5Create who were very helpful and they got me set up with the right product for my laptop to add 2 monitors. So there service is excellent.
