Not Compatible with MAC M1 Chip

It’s not compatible with any MAC with a M1 chip. I was not able to connect more than one monitor. I had to purchase a Plugable docking station to connect both monitors. Confusing software you have to install

Was told afterwards most laptops cannot run three monitors. Not sure if this would be useful for only desktops but Best Buy said it should have worked.

Posted .Most computers can run up to 3 display's. However, the USB-C Triple Display Docking Station requires a computer to support DisplayPort Alt Mode for video out via HDMI or DP port and USB Power Delivery 2.0 or 3.0. Please refer to the manufacturer of your hardware for more information on your device. The VGA and stand alone HDMI port requires an installation of a driver for functionality. Bought it mainly so I can use the USB C to have 2 displays and it works perfectly. It also raises the laptop off the desk and helps keep it cooler, which was a nice surprise.

While researching this product it stated in the description that it is compatible with the newest models of MacBook Pro. I purchased one, brought it home and attempted to download the necessary driver. At this point it was revealed that the driver is not compatible with a MacBook Pro with Apple’s new M1 chip. So I basically have a larger than necessary USB port and Ethernet jack surrounded by a couple of useless HDMI ports. This compatibility issue should be clearly explained in the product description.

Posted .Hi Voodude, unfortunately, the drivers for the JCD543 will not be compatible with M1 computers so the HDMI,VGA and Mic will not will. Perfect expansion for todays laptops

Sporadic Ethernet speeds through port as it seems to have issues under heav loads (Team Sessions, With Simultaneous VPN connection with my New Thinkpad T15. USB3 and Monitors are ok though. Just either connect to house WiFi and plug in Ethernet to laptop directly.

Because, you know “coved”. She knew exactly what would work to overcome my frustration with my previous limited system. This docking system allows me to have my computer, extra large screen, wireless keyboard and any other device I might use like a back-up device.

Not worth the money.

With all the possible connections you can make with this you would think it would be strong enough to power an external hard drive. Customer service said it wasn’t meant for that.

Posted .Hi Joel, thank you for your feedback on our Dock Station and we're sorry to hear the HDD didn't work on our device. The reason mechanical HDDs consume more power is that it still needs to spin the discs/platters even when it is not actively reading or writing data. With docking stations being hard to get we tried this one and it has worked really well at 1/2 the cost of the HP Universal docking stations we were using when you add in the cost of the $40 adapter you need to add.
