While researching this product it stated in the description that it is compatible with the newest models of MacBook Pro. I purchased one, brought it home and attempted to download the necessary driver. At this point it was revealed that the driver is not compatible with a MacBook Pro with Apple’s new M1 chip. So I basically have a larger than necessary USB port and Ethernet jack surrounded by a couple of useless HDMI ports. This compatibility issue should be clearly explained in the product description.

Posted .Hi Voodude, unfortunately, the drivers for the JCD543 will not be compatible with M1 computers so the HDMI,VGA and Mic will not will. The other ports including the HDMI or DP are PnP., no drivers needed and will be compatible. If you have any questions, our contact information can be located on the packaging or our website. Don't Do It!

Owned for 1 month when reviewed.This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought this as it was supposed to be universal and work with the multiple different laptop brands we have (2-HPs, 1-Asus, 1-Dell) and allow me to connect two external monitors without having connectivity issues. However, it's total crap and doesn't work. Don't waste your money and stay away from it. I've tried multiple different cords as well as uninstalling and reinstalling the software and yet I only get one monitor at any given time so I'm still connecting one monitor directly to my laptop which is annoying hence the reason I wanted the docking station. I even purchased the J5 power cord for it thinking maybe it was power related but now I'm just out even more money.. I highly suggest not purchasing this docking station period, especially if you're intending to have more than one external display.

Posted .The docking station is a universal docking that can work with different brands of laptops, however in order for the docking station to output displays to all external monitors the driver must be installed and the USB-C port on the laptop must support DisplayPort Alternate Mode (supported by Thunderbolt 3 and Thunderbolt 4 laptops). Bought it mainly so I can use the USB C to have 2 displays and it works perfectly. It also raises the laptop off the desk and helps keep it cooler, which was a nice surprise.

Also you will lost some FPS when playing high video demand games.

However, the USB-C Triple Display Docking Station requires a computer to support DisplayPort Alt Mode for video out via HDMI or DP port and USB Power Delivery 2.0 or 3.0. Please refer to the manufacturer of your hardware for more information on your device. The VGA and stand alone HDMI port requires an installation of a driver for functionality. Posted .For best results when using high-powered USB devices, we recommend attaching a USB-C power adapter to the dock’s power delivery port. We advise connecting no more than one bus-powered external hard drive at a time to the Dock. Connecting multiple bus-powered drives may cause system instability.

We picked up this one, and right out of the box, it was easy to hook up and easy to get up and running quickly. Would buy this again!

Because, you know “coved”. She knew exactly what would work to overcome my frustration with my previous limited system. This docking system allows me to have my computer, extra large screen, wireless keyboard and any other device I might use like a back-up device.

Perfect expansion for todays laptops
