I needed this hub to use with multiple laptops, one of which is a work laptop that I don't have administrator privilege's to add software. It worked fine with my personal laptops, but would not fully function with my work laptop. I consider this a downside. I returned it for a hub that is plug and play via windows.

Posted .If you have a work computer and do not have administrative access, you may have to contact your IT department in order to see if they will allow you to install the software. The VGA, Mic and the stand alone HDMI port requires an installation of a driver. Cordially, j5create.

It mentions all of the items that will support, and, in the images, it says the laptop pictured isn't included which nobody would assume yet it doesn't mention that the power supply is sold separately. When you're needing a solution for work and you're without one due to a blatant mone7y grab it deserves a "fair" rating regardless of if it works once you get a power supply.

Posted .The Power Adapter (JUP2290) is not included but the JCD543P does. The power-in port on the JCD543 provides additional power to the USB ports for high powered USB peripherals and allows pass-through charge. If your computer came with a USB-C power-brick 65W or higher, you will be able to use that to the JCD543 device. We apologize for the inconveniences.

Having said that, the USB devices connected to the dock fail multiple times daily with no warning. When I unplug a failed device and plug it back in, I sometime get a message from Windows that the USB device just connected has encountered an error, but I don't always get that. Usually shutting down the laptop and restarting fixes things but having to do that every 30 minutes at times is insane. I'm going to check it out on a different laptop to see if the issue is the dock or the laptop but I tend to lean towards it being the dock.

Posted .Check to see if your laptop might have firmware or driver updates that address compatibility or stability issues. Visit your computer's manufacturer's website for the latest updates.
Ensure that the docking station is receiving sufficient power. Docks require an external power source, and using a lower-wattage adapter than recommended could cause instability, especially when multiple devices are connected.
In Windows, the operating system can sometimes put USB devices to sleep to save power. This can be disabled in the Device Manager.
Windows Event Viewer might have logs that provide more details on what’s causing the USB devices to fail. Look under "Windows Logs" > "System" or "Application" for relevant error messages when the issue occurs.

Was super easy and fast. If it doesn’t work at first, try unplugging it and plugging it in again. Some tricks just don’t die.

Works - decently

Lots of ports and nice features. Initially tried without drivers however more than 1 display requires Mac Drivers. Installed those and have constantly been working with tech support - the issue is I have to unplug it from my MacBook then plug back in to get both monitors on (otherwise just one external display goes on). Switched to my older windows laptop and I don't have to do that. I think the Mac Drivers have room for improvement - their support tried to tell me somethings wrong with my Mac, definitely not the case.

||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Let me preface this by saying that I am a physics major who prefers to have 2 monitors for programming needs (modeling systems, etc.) and in general for being able to have multiple windows open, especially when watching videos or seminars. With that said, there's not much to say... it's a docking station. It has everything that all but a very select few could possibly need for a docking station. It's good quality with a price tag to match. If you need the extra ports that many laptops aren't coming with these days, this is definitely a good way to go. I have not had any problems with it after using it for a few months and don't suspect that I will anytime soon.
