Exactly... not what I needed

Owned for 4 months when reviewed.This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Exactly what I was looking for and needing when I purchased my surface pro 7. “Exactly needed” only lasted about 3 months or less and now it’s exactly what I don’t need. Video Ports (1/2 of them so far) have failed, no video output on those ports (not in front of it but I believe the failed units are 1 HDMI and 1 USBC or VGA, or maybe both are HDMI as I’m now having to use 1 HDMI and 1 display port....and yes I have swapped cables for new and/or higher quality, swapped output ports, etc. to diagnose the issue. The issue is this unit did not last for me and was very expensive for what it is and how long it lasted. One of the extended display randomly turns off and on which I’m assuming I’m about to be 3/4 dead on display ports on this unit. Unless this is just a lemon, then I do not recommend this product...I also do not recommend the surface doc either. Neither are good options for surface pro 7 with 2 external display in extended screen mode. And yes both displays are newish, up to date higher end displays.

The issue with the docking station audio jack has been reported by some other users. We have developed a firmware update that may resolve this issue. It can be found on the j5create website. Posted .There is no power switch. Once connected to a computer, start attaching USB peripherals, additional displays, etc.
2019 Macbook Pro Extended to Dual Monitor

I can extend my Macbook monitor to two displays with this dock. Just download the driver following the provided instructions. Super easy and does exactly what I need it to do for my WFH workstation.

Doesn’t support 2 monitors with 14” M1 MacBook Pro

Unfortunately, it doesn’t support 2 monitors with the new (2021) 14 inch M1 MacBook Pro nor audio only speakers (the jack seems to only work with wired headphones/mike combo). The manufacturer says ETA for a firmware update for the monitor issue is unknown at this time.

I struggled to compare spreadsheets on a laptop with 1 additional monitor. Now have the laptop in the middle and 1 large monitor on each side. I feel much more productive and can have 2 different files open to refer to during virtual meetings. This docking station is fantastic!
