Good news, the JCD543 will allow pass through power to charge your laptop. There is a USB-C port on the dock that will charge your laptop if you plug in a USB-C power adapter. Posted .Hi Andy, We apologize for the misinformation in regards to the JCD543 requiring a power source. The JCD543 is bus-powered and once connected to the computer, it is able to function as intended; the power adapter is for charging your computer, if it supports pass through charging via USB-C; if the computer does not support charging via USB-C, it will not charge. Although the adapter is not necessary, it is recommended for ultimately providing more power to the dock as a whole. If you experience any issues or have any questions regarding your dock, please reach out to support and a rep will be more than happy to assist.

Posted .Hello DaveJ, if your MacBook is running the M1 chip, the drivers will not be compatible. If you have the Intel, please download the 11 Display Driver on website and make sure to allow the drivers through. You may also reach out to us to help with installing the drivers to your computer. This was purchased for a M1 Airbook Mac and has allowed two monitors to work together, something that Apple says you can’t do. It has it’s own drivers for this to work but they seem to work well. The other ports do their job. If you need to dock a similar computer, or anything else with a USB C port, you should be good with this dock.

It works intermittently with a Mac. It's very frustrating. Sometimes I plug in and only one of the two monitors works. This doesn't happen on my PC laptop--it works great with a PC.

Had been utilizing 2 adapters that each to up 2 ports previously and never worked perfectly/steadily as they hung/dangled. this was a much better solution. Highly recommend for anyone working with multiple devices/connectors, etc.
