To get the full functionality out of the dock it will need to plug it into a USB-C port that supports display port alternate mode. The dock will also need to have drivers installed to have some of the ports function. If you require any assistance getting the docking station to work you can always contact our customer service team. They can assist with installation and troubleshooting. It allows power to pass through and is solidly built. We actually purchased about five of them and have had no issues. They are all being used on MacBook Pro's - I believe we did have to download a driver update when we updated the Macs to Mojave from the J5 site but it wasn't a hassle. Customer Support assisted us.

Decent unit for an Macbook Pro

Product cuts resolution

I had to download the driver manually and then when I got that all figured out, I figured out that it cut my resolution to be 1080P. Not terrible, but I wanted the resolution higher
