We appreciate that you took the time to leave a review on the docking station. To get the full functionality out of the dock it will need to plug it into a USB-C port that supports display port alternate mode. The dock will also need to have drivers installed to have some of the ports function. If you require any assistance getting the docking station to work you can always contact our customer service team. They can assist with installation and troubleshooting. It allows power to pass through and is solidly built. We actually purchased about five of them and have had no issues. They are all being used on MacBook Pro's - I believe we did have to download a driver update when we updated the Macs to Mojave from the J5 site but it wasn't a hassle. Customer Support assisted us.

Decent unit for an Macbook Pro

Posted .Themoose, In regards to your HP Spectre not charging sometimes, this could be due to the power adapter you are using not supplying enough charge. For this, we recommend you use a higher wattage power adapter. I had to download the driver manually and then when I got that all figured out, I figured out that it cut my resolution to be 1080P. Not terrible, but I wanted the resolution higher

Did Not Work with HP - Spectre x360

It is supposed to be a plug and play; however that did not work. Also, it does not have a power adopter and must be purchased separately. When I plugged it into my HP; my laptop shut down and had to do an update. I restarted my laptop and I went to the website and downloaded the driver. Still did not work. Every time I plugged it into my HP, the laptop would "freeze" and needed to restart. I am not tech savvy or perhaps my HP had some other issues (which is brand new) - This docking station just did not work for me. So, I will return it and continue my search.
