Customers recognize the Wireless Display HDMI Extender as being easy to set up and use, with generally good picture quality. However, some users experienced inconsistencies in range and connection reliability, along with occasional lag. While many appreciate the extender's ability to transmit over distances, concerns were raised about the price and the product's long-term dependability.

Pair this with an HDMI switch and you have a really start to have something, these are meant to be more of a permanent installation such as an office or if you have a projector and then a media shelf with your DVD player, gaming console, streaming device and desktop. The IR also allows you to have your remotes work properly too which is a necessary addition. The biggest thing to key in on is the display support which is up to 1080. I used it on one 4k tv and it worked just fine but then i plugged it into a 2k gaming monitor and the display had a ton of issues. I don't blame this device for that as its not the first device my monitor has been too good for. Just something to be aware of if your planning on using a monitor instead of a TV. It was plug and play and worked across the house. I've used a few different wireless HDMI sets and this was by far the easiest to use as I didn't have to read any instruction on how to pair after turning them on, they just worked. Using it on the TV and projector was as good as a direct wired connection for console gaming, movies, normal use. I think the only critical thing I have on these is that they aren't slickest looking; however I will take functionality or looks any day of the week.

I was excited when I first received these. I have a tv out in the garage without cable, and thought this would be perfect for getting it out there without much effort. While it was very easy to setup, I was quickly disappointed with the picture quality and audio out of sync. The picture was somewhat pixelated, and never went away. Audio sync issues usually were present when first starting to stream and would come and go as you watch. The boxes were only about 50 ft. apart. I suppose if you just want to have the tv on in the background while you're doing something else, this is perfect. If you are concerned about picture quality at all, this is not for you. Like: 1.) Easy to setup Dislike: 1.) Picture quality 2.) Audio sync issue 3.) Boxes run hot even when not in use.

I was a little skeptical when trying this wireless extender out. I just knew there would be some lag or screen freezing when trying to play xbox or the PS. Boy was I wrong this thing worked flawlessly when in the same room (about 20 feet apart) and also at about 30 feet behind one wall. I never seen any lag when playing games to watching movies. And I had the same results when mirroring my MacBook. Everything just worked great, I couldn't tell at all that the video and sound was being transmitted wirelessly. This come in very handy for out side movie night with the projector. I use to run a 25' HDMI to my receiver in side. And would alway have to keep an eye on it so no one would trip on it and heaven for bid pull the projector off of the table. Now with this wireless HDMI extender that is one less thing I have to worry about. Now I did run in to some issues with lag and connectivity when I tried to push the limits. When I set it up at the two furthest points in my home maybe about 40 feet apart and two walls I started to see lag. But for my needs this thing works GREAT!!! I wish I would of got it sooner. The set up is easy and comes with one HDMI cable. It also has a IR passthrough for remotes.

      Hello,
I am glad to hear that you were able to easily set up the wireless extender and it is working well for your needs. There are some things that may cause the extender to lag when using across your home. The number of obstructions and what those obstructions are made of will have an effect. Other wireless signals in your home may also have other wireless signals that interfere with the extender. Thanks for sharing your review and feedback.

I have a handful of TVs installed in areas where it's possible to get power to the TV discretely, but not signal. I had been relying on multiple things hung from the back of the tv mount, but this wireless extender has eliminated those shenanigans. The included IR extender does sometimes experience a little lag, but the audio/video transmission seems to be clear and not add any artifacts with very little to no lag at all. Construction is a little on the lightweight side, with plastic cases, and large wifi style antennas. Adjusting them didn't seem to make a difference on my signal, as it's digital so it's all or nothing. Mounting holes are integrated into the case, although I would love to see a quick release mounting plate style bracket instead for attaching behind a tv, but these are minor complaints. This is a great way to get a signal to another TV. It's inexpensive enough that I wish I could send the signal to more than one at a time, but it makes sense that those products spiral upwards in cost from this box.

The set-up of this HDMI extender couldn’t be easier. All you have to do is plug in the power and the HDMI cable, and they automatically connect and start transmitting. Video: There is some pixilation in the video, so I wouldn’t try using this with a 4k signal. But, for 720p it seems to be fine. 1080p may be a stretch, depending on the distance that you have the transmitter and receiver. I had only about 8 feet, and could see plenty of pixilation in YouTube videos. Audio: I didn’t have any issues with the audio. It seemed to be in perfect sync, but again, I didn’t have much distance between the two boxes. Value: Is this worth $140? Probably not. It works decently well, but is nowhere near the quality of a wired connection.

This device looked far more complicated in the box to set up than it turned out to be. In fact the hardest part of the installation was pulling an hdmi cable from my television to opening up a slot for this device to plug into as my tv had only three hdmi slots and one was an arc. The instructions provided were to the point and obvious to use - as this device really functions as an easier to access hdmi port (wall mounted tvs are not so easy to change out hdmi with the cable connections buried behind things). I swapped from a bluray player to a gaming computer and this was wonderful to have lesser used (but no less important) devices where they could be projected from device to tv via a wireless I(not wifi) connection. Overall this works exactly like it should and is a very simple solution. My apartment is not that large but it was able to project from one room to another without any problems.

This wireless hdmi extender is very convenient and user friendly. Perfect for extending our security camera system to separate screen in another location. So easy and user friendly that all you do is plug in the power supply and hdmi input and outputs. Works fairly well and is simple enough. It just seems a little inconsistent when transmitting the signal depending on where the placement of each transmitter is. Works great when it works, a little frustrating when it doesn’t.

Neat product in a small package. The possibilities are endless here. I used mine for sending our surveillance system to another room in the house away from the DVR. I can even use the remote from the other room thanks to the IR repeaters that also wirelessly send the remotes signal to the device you are casting from. I could see another great use would be for an outdoor TV that you just have power to and no video source. Its nicely made and comes with plenty of good instructions for setting it up and troubleshooting. There is a small delay so I don't think I would use it for gaming but anything else is possible.

I tested this with my tv and the hdmi and it worked great but the real reason I wanted this was to be able to wirelessly connect a monitor to my security camera system. I had purchased a different brand that was horrible and couldn't maintain a connection at 10 feet with no obstructions (even though it was rated at 150ft). This J5create system is setup at about 50 ft and has not caused me any issues. I have 1080p cameras and the picture quality is outstanding, especially the night mode on the cameras. Setup was simple, just make sure you don't switch the transmitter and receiver. They are clearly marked. Once you turn them on they connect in about a minute. Now I can have the monitor anywhere in the house instead of where my security system box is.

This item is simply great bargain for the price point. Connections are rock steady 9my largest distance though is about 50 feet through plaster lathe walls, 2). The plug and play is just true pnp and the software to check connections and strength is simple to use and understand. The possible usage are endless from having cable tv on another tv without having to pay for another cable box, playing games on your big screen tv and so on.

Looks good and is easy to set up, but that's where it ends. The receiver is set up only 20 feet from the transmitter and the picture is no way 1080P but would suggest that it barely reaches 720p. The image appears as a blurry image which more closely resembles an old analog "over the air" antenna signal on a CRT display. I did attempt to adjust the receiving TV picture (sharpness, contrast, brightness, etc) to overcome the quality issues, but the signal is too pitiful to compensate for. The unit runs for some random time then freezes up, then after some other random amount of time started to work again (green light goes red and then back to green after some time). I'm not sure how this company can get away with selling this kind of product, or how it remains on the shelf at BB. If the manufacturer really wanted to stand up for their product or to show some business integrity, I would expect them to send me one of their products that they believe can actually come close to what they advertise this product to be. They have my money and I won't be driving back to return it, so they are definitely understand the strategy of selling a sub-par product to an apathetic customer base. The manufacturers responses to previous negative reviews are not at all helpful and are as would be expected for a product that should be trashed. I definitely would not at all consider using this product for business presentations of simple static images.

Product does functions but with great sensitivity to distance between transmitter and receiver. Often there is audio lag. However, with a lot of moving and readjusting it is now (after several weeks) operating satisfactorily. Also, support has not responded to me after several telephone calls over a few weeks (only could leave voicemail).

I purchased this unit to avoid paying for an additional cable box for my bedroom, which is located less than 40 feet from the transmitter. While the setup was easy, and as others have noted, I occasionally experience audio lag. The picture quality is acceptable, but there is noticeable compression around darker colors. I’ve decided to purchase a Cat6 product instead.

This disconnects at times. Never had this issue with hdmi cable. Can the manufacturer explain why. Is it a problem with the device or input? I never had this issue when I used hdmi cable. The transmitter and receiver are in the same room 16 feet apart and can see each other. I plan to have a tv stand and they may not see each other, although they will still be in the same room at the same distance. I might change the rating and recommendation after I know the exact issue. Can the manufacturer explain or suggest?

You may want to try and repair the units. Once reset, connect both units to a power adapter and stack them on top of each other. (They must be stacked on top of one another to pair). This is because they use NFC (Near-Field Communication) to pair. Once both units are on, press and hold the pair button on the back of the device (you may need a needle to push the button that is inside the hole) until both units’ lights are blinking. They will both flash red or orange, and finally green when they have been paired. j5create
