Implementing the software required to operate these in-ear headphones for my Galaxy S23 is like getting lost in a jungle. Ultimately, I gave up. The result is a useless set of in-ear headphones.

    Best set I've used

Best set I've used! I have used SkullCandy headphones, j-labs, Samsung Galaxy Buds 2, and a few other knock-off brand earbuds. (All sub $100 earbuds, except for the Galaxy Buds.) This is the first set that has actually stayed in my ear for a workout AND sounds great. This set wasn't even labeled as their "Active 4" as this is the Elite 4 model. Starter info: Please do not forget to remove the shipping/protection tape over the charging contacts on each earbud before you plug the charging dock into a power source. I didn't see the tape until I pulled the buds out of the case, and I'm glad I checked before plugging the case into power. Also, after the first week of testing, I finally installed the jabra app on my phone. Once the earbuds connect thru the app, you get both EQ (equalizer) controlls and if there is a firmware update available for the earbuds, it will notify you so you can run the update (mine had a new version available as soon as the app installed.) Update asap to help reduce any issues you have moving forward. I'll list a few Cons before I hit the Pros Cons: When connected to my iPod (A1446) the volume level is just too low...I had my iPod volume maxed out/no volume limit set, and with that device there are no additional controls or settings to play with. Turning on any of the build in iPod EQ's both made the volume level even lower, and more cheap-sounding than having the EQ off on the device. When connecting to my 13 year old PC, the audio was a little choppy to the headsets. But my guess is the issue is with my PC or the generation of Bluetooth. The only other time I had choppy issues was when I had the earbuds in while using my electric toothbrush. When the brush was on the audio was choppy. Cell Phone calls: I conducted a few tests, one with just the left earbud, just the right earbud, and with both ear buds. When I had an 8 minute call with just the left earbud, my own audio (speech) was echo'd back 3-4 times during the call. The right bud never had an echo issues, and when I made a shorter call with both earbuds in I didn't have any echo issues. (This could have been firmware though as I didn't update firmware until after running these test calls.) My ears typically do not like noise cancellation. Having noise cancellation on with these ear buds creates a pressure/underwater feeling in my ears. But other noise cancellation products have the same effect so it's not a device con, just a personal con. Pairing: If these earbuds are already paired to a device, I could not get them paired to another new device until I disconnected them from all existing connected devices. Now for some pros: They stay in my ears. Even during workouts. Unless I start pressing on either bud to play/pause/advance/increase or decrease volume. After 2-3 presses or taps, the bud will get loose in my ear, and create a need for readjustment. You can pair to multiple devices, at the same time. If they are paired to my cell, and to any other device, I could be listening to music from my laptop and as soon as a call comes into my cell, it automatically switches over so I can answer the call without any additional effort. Jabra's App EQ: if your sound isn't quite where you want it, you can pick one of their stock EQs or create your own. I created a 'rock' EQ that gets bass/treble and mid range levels where they need to be for my preferred mix of Godsmack, Metallica, Pantera,...etc during workouts. I'm not sure if there is an app available for windows-based devices, but audio from my PC and laptop didn't seem to need any adjustments. Single bud pairing was instant and seamless. The only time I really have both in my ears are during workouts. Otherwise 1 bud is enough for most of my needs. If the $100-$120 price tag is too much for you, just wait a tick until they go on sale.

Budget Friendly W/Mix Of Good Sound and Features

Overall, these true wireless earbuds are good. They have good sound, good features, a solid app, great connection, and good battery life. They fall short in one area that I feel would've improved my rating and I'll summarize my experience with them down below. Immediately out of the box I started to charge them without realizing that there is plastic between the connectors on the earbuds and the charging case that has to be removed before charging. Make sure to do this! Once fully charged, I attempted to connect them to my surface tablet that I use for work and my personal phone pixel 7 pro. The surface tablet automatically recognized a new device trying to pair so connection was quick and easy. Connecting to the Pixel 7 pro required resetting the pairing mode on the earbuds but once ready to pair they also connected quickly. The Jabra Elite 4 True Wireless Earbuds are meant to connect to 2 devices so you can seamlessly transfer from one audio source to another. This was not the case. I first started with streaming Spotify on my phone. I opened YouTube on my surface tablet and pressed play on a video. It didn't switch to that audio source until I cancelled/paused the audio from the phone so you still have to interact with it prior to switching over. When it does switch over there is a delay in starting the audio so the video will play with no sound for about a second or two. When I went from YouTube to Spotify, it was the same issue. You have to pause the video and then continue on Spotify. Next I tried with Zoom since I take work phone calls on my desktop - surface tablet through Zoom. When I'm playing Spotify on my phone and someone calls me on Zoom, there is no ringer so you won't know if someone is trying to call you unless you're connected to the computer at the time or you're looking at the screen while the call comes in. Hopefully this can be fixed with a software update. I also was not able to answer the zoom call with 1x tap of the right earbud but it does work on the phone. The volume up and down triggers work as intended but are a bit awkward at times and will continue increasing the volume even when you want it to stop at a certain threshold. Aside from this feature not being the best it could be, it still works with a little extra effort on the users part but not ideal for what these earbuds are meant to be. If you're just using for music, this budget friendly option is a good option but not a great one in my opinion. The earbuds do get uncomfortable in my ear but they are very snug. Sound isolation with ANC works as intended and blocks out outside noise as well as I could hope. You can program the sound signature in the app for your liking but overall sound signature is good. The case size is comparable to airpods or pixel buds pro case so you can fit it in your pocket without it bulging out and it uses USB C for charging. I would recommend this for the casual user who will want the option to switch between a computer and a phone without the hassle of having to disconnect or unpair while switching. It has its flaws but it works as intended.

The Jabra Elite 4 is a great upgrade from the previous version, the Jabra Elite 3. The best part of the upgrade is the active noise cancellation. It's so good you wont hear other people in the house with you. Be careful if you spook easily. When you need to be aware of your surrounding the Hear through feature is a blessing. Sound quality is good, better than most in my opinion for this price range. Heavy bass is good but gets a bit distorted at max volume. Highs are crisp, but again at max volume gets a little tinny. For most users this wont be a problem. Podcasts and watching videos, the sound is clear with voices easily understood and crisp. With 3 sizes of earpieces you'll get a nice fit. Being active, running and gym workouts were no problem. Both earbuds stayed in fine. As they are fairly flush fit, they also work well under motorcycle helmets. The Elite 4 paired fast and easy with different bluetooth setups. Google Pixel 6pro and Google 7. Samsung Tab 8a and my laptop. The Jabra+ app works great and also gives you access to an equalizer feature to customize your sound. The one gripe is that tapping or long pressing on the earbuds to access feature like volume, mute, etc didn't always work and caused some ear discomfort. Solid winner from Jabra that I can definitely reccomend.

The Jabra Elite 4 are straightforward, lightweight, and low profile Bluetooth earbuds. They were easy to pair with my Android phone -- soon as I put the earbuds into pairing mode, I got a prompt on my screen asking me to pair When I put them back into pairing mode, I got another popup on my Windows laptop asking me to pair there as well. These earbuds feature Bluetooth Multipoint, which means that not only can they be paired with multiple devices, they can be actively connected two at the same time. That’s a huge benefit for someone like me who moves back and forth (between calls on my phone and laptop) regularly. After just a few minutes, I was connected to both devices and switching seamlessly between them. The earbuds themselves, as well as the charging case are lightweight and compact. They stay put in my ears comfortably during light to moderate activity, but I wouldn’t want to use them while jogging or during vigorous workout. I listen to music and podcasts, and make audio and video calls, and felt that the sound quality on the Jabra Elite 4 was better than I had expected for a moderately priced option. I think an audiophile might want to go with a higher-end model, though. The active noise cancellation is noticeable, but not amazing. I found that it cut down on background din around my house or office, but wasn’t strong enough to eliminate louder noises like bus, train, or airplane travel. The controls on each earbud are fairly intuitive, and adjust automatically to accommodate single-earbud or two-earbud use. The Jabra app doesn’t offer the option to customize controls, though. It took me a few days for me to get used to the buttons being clickable, rather than touch-sensitive pads. I had to find an angle of attack that activated the button without putting too much pressure into my ear. That said, it wasn’t too long of an adjustment, and these are MUCH less prone to accidental activation than other products I’ve used with touch-sensitive controls. Overall, I like the Jabra 4 earbuds. They are a great option for someone who values a compact form factor, ease of use, and seamless switching between multiple devices.

These earbuds have a nice sound, and they're very comfortable in the ear, but they were a little finicky to setup. I opted to try using these earbuds with my laptop first (as I primarily intended on using them with this laptop). This proved to be a bit of a mistake as they didn't want to connect to my Pixel phone later. Connecting them to a phone is somewhat necessary to adjust settings and update firmware. The default button settings are perfectly adequate for my needs though, and I didn't really see the need to change them. The earbuds are extremely comfortable, and I had no issues wearing them for an extended period. The case is very lightweight and compact. It easily fits into the pocket of my laptop bag. The sound quality is excellent with just enough bass to give them some "punch." I didn't observe any noticeable lag between audio and video while watching a movie with these earbuds. Button clicks are easy and feel natural. The buttons cover almost the entire surface of the earbuds making them very easy to press. The noise cancellation was quite impressive. I wore these while sitting by a noisy washing machine, and they almost completely eliminated the sound coming from it. I'm quite impressed by these little earbuds and think they'll serve my needs well.

I have some earbuds that I use pretty regularly that were super expensive but they have recently started to come apart at the wing, and it’s not a design flaw that other manufacturer calls it physical damage, so I was looking a new pair of ear buds that would feel comfy, look sleek, sound great & allow me to use them at some, at home & on the go without having to have a second pair around as backups. I have had Jabra ear buds myself and also so has my wife & kids since I got them a few years back I think it was. Anyway, so the quality was of no question when I got the Elite 4s but it kinda was. What do I mean? I mean they blew out of the water what I thought I remembered their products looking, feeling & sounding like. These look nicer than my $250 pair that is falling apart after about 1.5 years of somewhat regular use (but I was off work for 6-ish months of that so they got no use then). Anyway, so the Elite 4s were a little picky when it came to syncing them with my iPhone 14 Pro Max but they were super easy to sync with our Pixel 7 Pro backup phone & also to my Alienware laptop that work has given me. I have used the Elite 4s to listen to podcasts, as well as both Hip Hop & Rap music, while also putting it through some torture listening to Pop music (I like it but others give me guff for it), and even some Country music to fully round out that eclectic listening experience. Oh, how could I forget! I also used them on numerous meetings including those with vendors & everyone said I sounded clearer than normal when using that previously mentioned falling apart pair by someone not Jabra. I have dropped the charging case when getting it out of my pocket. I’m not so sure that it is slick as much as my carpal tunnel may be coming back and my hands just randomly open and let go of stuff again. So I can’t fault Jabra for that. I will be on the lookout for some type of protective case for these and I really hope they have at least 1 or 2 little options do fry. Nothing as outrageous as the B brand or the A brands plethora of not needed and overpriced goodies, just a nice protective cover for the case will be awesome. Fingers crossed it’s a thing when I go looking 🤞. In closing, you can see that I have had a ton of experience since I got these ear buds & I’m truly loving the experience with them especially because their app isn’t super in your face and annoying, it’s just the right level of form, function, and even interaction for me. I’m Not bombarded nonstop like other brands and I thank you for that! Sorry, for real in closing: active noise canceling is superb, it is perfect and since the ear buds diff me so well I am unable to hear 99.99999% of things if I use it. HearThrough works great too and it does what you think: passes the surrounding audio through which I find useful when at work when needing to be able to collaborate but still want to get in the zone and the noise canceling for when I’m in my fixing the world type moods and kicking the rears of any processes that need my improvement skills hah! Honestly though, you can’t go wrong with these truly amazing wireless ear buds, I know I didn’t!

I didn't know much about Jabra products before getting these Jabra 4 Elite True Wireless Earbuds, but I have to say I am truly impressed. These are full-featured earbuds with style and comfort, but most importantly outstanding sound. It did take a few tries to learn how they fit these correctly in m ears, but that's true of almost any set of earbuds. The controls on the earbuds themselves are easy to learn and function perfectly with simple button presses on the outer part of each earbud. The Jabra 4 Elite can be customized using the highly-rated Jabra Sound+ app on your smartphone. In the app you will find a simple-to-follow Quick Start Guide and User Manual to help get you up to speed on all of the controls and personalized settings. These settings include options to custom configure Active Noise Cancellation which works really well. Also included in the app is s a 5-band frequency equalizer to personalize the sound exactly to your liking, or you can use presets or even come up with your own sound profiles and save to a preset. The sound quality is really impressive and I found that it only gets better as you turn up the volume, while still maintaining distortion-free sound. Personally I like a lot of clean bass but I still like to hear the bright guitar parts and cymbals, so I have the equalizer profile set to a "V" shape, which is when the music really starts to come to life. In fact, there is already a preset called "Energize" that does this for you. I honestly believe the sound coming from the Jabra 4 Elite headphones is every bit as good as my expensive over-the-ear headphones that I sometimes listen to. It's nice to be able to take that sound on the go with these small and pocketable headphones. Bluetooth connectivity is quick and simple and I had no trouble connecting the earbuds to both my smartphone and laptop. After that initial setup, listening to music is just a simple matter of taking the earbuds out of the case and putting them in your ear. With a smartphone, it's easy to take incoming phone calls with just a simple tap of either earbud to accept a call. Once again, the sound of conversation is crystal clear and the built-in microphones makes your voice sound great on the other end of the call. From their clean design to their awesome sound, these are earbuds I really look forward to using and can easily recommend to anyone looking for high quality build and great sound and yet still be affordable.

The headphones came nicely packaged. It came with the earbuds themselves, a case, gel inserts for different sized ears, instructions, and a charging cable. The charging cable was nice as, for some reason, rechargeable headphones don’t always come with a charging cable. Setting up the earbuds is very easy. I just downloaded the app per the instruction manual. Once that was done, I paired the earbuds with the app, and everything was basically set up for me through the app. I mainly use my earbuds with my phone. They’re comfortable to wear, which I really like. While using them these past several weeks, although I don’t wear them all that long, my ears have yet to get uncomfortable. I’d rate the sound quality 9/10 and the base 10/10. These are noise-cancelling, which better isolates the sound from the noise around me. The app isn’t just for set up either. You can use it to change the sound settings of the earbuds, such as the base and the EQ. It’s very intuitive and easy to use even for someone who isn’t so tech savvy. I only have two criticisms of these earbuds; first is that the app, while great, offers a lot more than I’ll ever use. The other criticism is that the earbuds are shaped a little weird. This doesn’t affect the sound quality or their comfort, it’s more of an aesthetic critique than anything. Overall, these are the best earbuds I’ve had so far (aside from their look). I would recommend these for anyone who cares about sound quality and wants to be able to customize their sound. These are probably too advanced for anyone who just wants decent earbuds/headphones that don’t do much else.

The packaging was solid and felt like quality so I got a good feeling going into the unboxing of these buds. Once I removed the plastic, between the charging pins, I gave it a quick charge before starting the pairing process and installed the app on my phone. Once I gave it about half an hour, I didn't want to wait anymore. I opened the app and got the ball rolling. I love how the newer buds use their app to make the pairing so much easier! It's effortless to connect when companies do this! Here's another thing I love: These are very comfortable! I didn't have to change out the silicone, these fit perfect out of the box. The button on each side is very easy to press and get results. It's tactile and the press is noticable. The last pair I had, I had to press so hard, it actually hurt my ear. These were not a problem in that area at all. My other favorite part: the active noise canceling! This is the first pair that didn't sound off when the pass through was active! Others had either a tinny or listening through a bucket sound. This sounded just like the room does when they aren't being worn! A first for me. The noise cancelling works extremely well and you can set it to the level that you want in the app. Great feature! Call quality is great! Music is enjoyable! I'm excited to have these!
