Amazing ANC, Sound and Quality!
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Unboxing and Setup The Jabra Elite 85t True wireless earbuds with Advanced ANC came in a easy to open box. Opening the front lid displays easy to follow. The first step was to download the Jabra Sound+ app to my iPhone. Once loaded it had me select the type of earbuds. The earbuds paired easily and the Sound+ app stepped me through a custom sound configuration by asking my sex, age, then a hearing test through both earbuds. This was followed by a firmware update download which required the earbuds to be on, then the earbuds had to be put back in the case with the lid closed, to apply the update. The LED on the front of the case flashed during the update of around ten minutes. Earbuds The earbuds have a nice solid feel. There is a bright led light at the top of the push button on each earbud which can show six different status conditions. The push button on each earbud is significantly large enough to easily press. The right earbud button controls playing/pausing of music, increasing volume, and activating the voice assistant. The left earbud button controls the ANC/HearThrough toggle, decreases volume, and selects next/previous/restart music track. Both earbuds can be used to answer, end, mute, or reject a call. With the Sound+ app, the earbud button controls can be customized There are three different sizes of pads provided for different ear sizes and best fit for ANC noise isolation. I found that the earbuds, though small, fit quite securely and did not come loose during movement or conversations. I also like that music will pause when one of the earbuds is removed. Another nice feature is the earbuds will automatically turn on when removed from the case and will turn off when placed back into the case. The manual says there is 7 hours of battery without ANC in the earbuds and 5.5 hours with ANC on, and 25 hours in the case for recharging. I'm assuming this means the earbuds will automatically recharge in the case when it is not plugged into a power source, then both the case and the earbuds will also recharge when plugged back into the provided USB cable. Charging Case The case is solid and has a nice texture for easily gripping. An LED next to the charging port on the back of the case shows the status of charge and status during firmware updates. Magnetic attraction pulls the earbuds into their sockets which is great for preventing the earbuds from falling out of the case - even if held upside down. The only drawback is it's a little tricky to get a firm grip on the earbuds when removing from the case. I found that if I pull from the middle of the case with one finger, the earbud will easily come out. The Jabra Sound+ App The app is very detailed and has options for control all aspects of the earbuds. Here are some of the aspects of the earbuds which can be controlled and configured: • Viewing of battery levels of the case and the earbuds. • Setting and changing the "Moments" presets. • Adjusting the ANC levels. • Turning on/off HearThrough. • Music equalizer settings. • Selection of Music presets. • Soundscape settings. • Firmware updates. • Selection of the voice assistant language. • Registration. • Find My Jabra earbuds. • Switching of the voice guidance language. • User guides, manuals and FAQ. • Contacting Jabra Support. • Technical specs along with serial numbers. • Access the Jabra online store. In the Moments section of the app there are three different "moments" (My Moment, Commute, Focus) and a set of widgets to select from for each moment. By tapping on the "Edit widgets" button I was able to select which widgets I wanted for each moment. Music, Calls, and Sound It is important to note that the Jabra earbuds are specifically designed for handling phone calls and using voice commands. The sound is excellent for phone calls. My contacts tell me how impressed they are with the quality and they couldn't tell that I was using a Bluetooth headset. The music is clear and crisp. The Bass response is amazing for the size. The Sound+ App provides a nice equalizer and some default settings for music playback. When a music preset is selected, the equalizer will match the selection. I also enjoy the Soundscape generator with a wide range of effects for helping me to focus when working and studying. Rainy day is my personal favorite. Pros • Multiple mics helps to keep calls clear even when in windy conditions. • 20Hz to 20kHz music response. • 100Hz to 10kHz calls response. • Adjustable HearThrough settings for allowing external sounds to come through the earbuds. • Active Noise Cancelling with multiple levels. • Sidetone setting for allowing you to hear your own voice better when on a call. • Removing an earbud will automatically pause music. • One earbud can be used at a time and will switch to mono for music. • The earbuds can be paired to two devices at once. • Voice Assistant can be Siri or Alexa. • Multiple languages are available for voice guidance. • Solid and quality feel of the earbuds and the charging case. • Magnetic attraction of the earbuds to the case for snug storage and charging. • Three different Moments settings for personal, commuting, and focus settings with widgets for each. • A Soundscape generator for helping with focus during work and study, and masking of external noises. • The Sound+ App is amazing and offers everything needed for the earbud settings. • The case supports QI-wireless charging. • Fast charging of the earbuds. 15 minutes = 1 hour of music playback. • Adjustable sleep mode of 15 minutes up to never. Con • No indicators on the earbuds to show right from left, though the manual in the app shows the difference. Overall I am very pleased with the Jabra Elite 85t earbuds. They are perfect for anyone who does a lot of commuting and has to handle phone calls and voice control over their smartphone. The sound quality for voice and calls is excellent. The music playback quality is clear and crisp with good bass response. My primary focus for these earbuds will be for phone calls and device control while driving and doing food deliveries.

A Great Set of Buds
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The Jabra Elite 85t are the newest generation of their great sounding bluetooth earbuds from Jabra GN. This set was an upgrade from my previous 75t Elite and I've gotta say I can hear the difference. What's different though? For starters the Elite 85t case is slightly bigger than the Elite 75t, not by much though. The buds are bigger too, but that comes from a design change. The Elite 75t set was made to go inside the ear while the new Elite 85t is made to sit in the ear, in a semi-open design. This new shape/fitting is a change and might be slightly uncomfortable for those used to the old fitting of in-ear buds, you will feel that they could fall out because of this new fit, I know I did, but after testing it out with some simple workouts they held in place, so I will say that they still fit perfectly fine for normal use. These are also set up with Advance Active Noise Canceling technology (ANC), there was an update released for the Elite 75t to give them regular ANC as well, but the 85t gives you more range of control over how high or low you want it be, which the 75t does not, and because it is built into the buds the overall quality is better. The HearThrough Mode and Talk/Phone Mic is greatly improved as well, the Elite 75t has 4 built-in microphones while the Elite 85t has 6 built-in microphones, this gives you a clearer and better sounding audio quality whether taking a phone call or using HearThrough mode, which is also given an improvement on range of control over how low or high you want it. I definitely noticed how weak at times the HearThrough mode felt on my Elite 75t and how much better the 85t is. These audio improvements come at a cost to battery life and you'll see a a decrease in battery life by about 1.5hrs when using ANC on the 85t than the regular use. They have changed the splash, sweat, and dust protection a notch from the original IP55 to IPX4, which isn't much of a change for the average wearer, and unless you're gonna be in an extremely humid or water prone area you won't be in any trouble. I do advise researching IPXX ratings to get a better understanding of this change. Lastly, the price is steep for the new Elite 85t, coming in at $229, while the Elite 75t came out at $199 and later dropped to $179. Overall, I love this new set. The sound quality is better and great as ever and they look sleek. The only thing keeping me from giving it a 5 Star rating is the price, which I hope that Jabra GN will drop like they did for the 75t. If you want a great bluetooth set I highly recommend Jabra and their new 85t for any one needing a new and great headset.

Game changing features!
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I've had used a LOT of earbuds in recent years, and these are the best I've tried in regard to comfort and sound quality. Once paired with the Jabra Sound+ app, there's an initial setup that includes choosing your age and gender and then there's a hearing test. The earbuds are fine-tuned to each ear's range of hearing. After that, you can adjust the equalizer to meet your sound preferences, and adjust the amount of outside passthrough sounds and the amount of active noise cancellation. The ear gels are a proprietary oval shape, so you're not going to be able to use any "extras" you may have laying around. The earbuds can be controlled directly or through the app. The controls differ if you're in "music mode" (using them both) or "phone mode" (using only 1). The bud controls are actual buttons you have to press and not just a touch-sensitive surface which I prefer since it results in fewer accidental commands. You can connect 2 devices at a time, and they have an in-ear pressure relief system, 25 hours battery life including the case with the noise canceling on and longer without it, and USB-C or wireless charging. There's a fast charge option where you can get about 1-hour use with a 15-minute charge, or it takes about 2 - 3 hours to fully wired charge. Wireless can take 4 - 5 hours depending on the charger. After the initial setup, they connect to devices with no lag and the connection quality is solid. There are 6 microphones so the outbound and inbound call quality is outstanding!

Nice try Jabra
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I was very excited to get my hands on these, felt like I waited forever. The fit is almost perfect, a huge step up from the 65t and the 75t. But the sound is garbage, worse than any other premium TWS. If the volume is less than 90% you miss it on the full audio, and 90% or higher and it's overwhelming. When with the MySound feature and the equalizer the sound is pretty trash. I really wanted to like these, but they fell way short. For this price you can go for Airpods Pro for comfort, or Bose for great sound.

My favorite ear buds. Almost perfect.
||Posted . Owned for 2 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I misplaced my Jabra Connect 5t Earbuds. I liked them so much that they became my go to earbuds. I spent a week looking for them. Finally, I gave up looking and chose to replace them. I was going to replace them with an identical pair but decided to try the Elite 85t. It was on sale over the holidays so why not go for the best Jabra has to offer? And then, two weeks later, I found my Connect 5t earbuds. So, I kept them both. And I use them both. I mostly use the Connect 5t for office work. I use the 85t for everything else. Both are by far the most comfortable earbuds I have use used in years. The 85t have a more natural sound both for media reproduction and audio pass-through using the external mics. The bass is deeper, for earbuds. And there is more flexibility in the Jabra app for the 85t. I currently use the 85t during workouts, personal computer use, and watching videos while riding my exercise bike. The 85ts work perfectly in all situations. I have the Elite 85ts synced with multiple devices. The earbuds will auto sync with whatever my last two device was. Other previously established sync relationships are easily re-established from the devices blue tooth connection screen. I sometimes have to re-establish the sync relationship with these tertiary devices. Overall, not a big deal. My only complaint about the 85t is the poor job that the ANC handles low frequencies. For example, when shopping at my local Best Buy I usually hear a bunch of background noise that I easily tune out. The 85t's ANC will filter out most of the background sound but will extenuate the low frequency of the H-VAC system overhead. I didn't even know the H-VAC system made as much noise as it did until the 85t put it front and center. I tried this in a few other settings where I knew I would be subject to low frequency noise and sure enough the 85t did a terrible job of filtering it out. I have seen other reviewers point out similar issues with the low frequency. I hope Jabra takes this seriously and issues a software update to handle it. Now, ANC is not all bad news. With the exception of the lower frequency band, the 85t does an excellent job. I took these to my state's High School soccer semi-finals. I was in the stands with at least a thousand screaming fans. I used the 85t with full ANC just to see how they would handle the noise. And they did an amazing job. That insane person behind me with the super high bullhorn vocals was almost completely drowned out by the ANC. Which probably saved my hearing. The hoots and hollers were a bit obnoxious even for a sporting event. I also played with the ANC level and allowed some conversation to penetrate the ANC bubble. It did an ok job. Not amazing but I could follow a conversation. Not too bad for earbuds. Overall, I really like the Elite 85t earbuds. They work perfectly for my environment. They are great for Office use, exercise, and apparently sports crowds. Though, keep in mind that these are not rated for hearing protection. Case in point, Jabra has an ANC processing issue when it comes to low frequencies. I think the Elite 85t earbuds will be the earbuds to beat if Jabra can address, and fix, the low frequency issues with their earbuds. Jabra has the comfort issue figured out, great sound, excellent pass through sound, phone calls are crystal clear, battery life is excellent, and most of the ANC is better than any other earbud I have tried.

Go with 75t over 85t
||Posted . Owned for 2 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Jabra makes great products but the redesign on the earpiece for the 85T I don’t agree with. I have owned several different earbuds over the years went from the 65T to the 75T to the 85T. 75t is an excellent earbud and would prefer those over the 85 just for the simple fact that they fit better and do a better job at canceling our noise due to the fact that the ear insert fits much better. The only reason why I upgraded to the 85T due to the fact that I accidentally washed them in the laundry my 75t multiple times after washing them the third time they finally gave up 100% except the fact that it is my fault of that happened but I expected so much more out of the 85T given that the price tag was substantially higher. also I have used third-party inserts for the 85t to try to see if there was something else I could use to make them fit better and it does not help.

Posted .Hello Chris - While many folks certainly prefer the Jabra Elite 75t/Elite Active 75t, the Elite 85t offers benefits not available in our other earbuds. ANC in the Elite 85t is controlled by a dedicated on-board processor delivering superior noise cancellation. The oval shape to the earbuds make for a more comfortable, natural fit (your ear canals are not round!). The Elite 85t also incorporates a 12mm speaker, twice the size of the speakers in our other models. If you have any questions or concerns, we invite you to contact our Product Support Team for assistance. Thank you.

Big Features in Such a Small Package
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The Jabra Elite 85t proves that good things indeed come in small packages. With a lightweight comfortable fit, good audio quality, a splendidly useful app, and strong active noise cancellation, the audio engineers crafted truly wireless earbuds that are a joy to experience. What you get in the Box. -Elite 85t wireless earbuds -Charging case -Type C to Type A charging cable -3 different size pairs of ear gels -warranty sheet Here are some of the things that I really like about the Elite 85t: **Comfortable Earbuds** The Jabra Elite 85t is by far the most comfortable earbuds I have used. A lot of the earbuds are uncomfortable and put a lot of pressure on my ear, much like how ear plugs feel. With the open design of the Elite 85t, I don’t feel any of the pressure. In fact they feel very lightweight and after leaving them in my ears for several hours, I didn’t feel any ear fatigue. The oval ear gels are also soft and provide just the right amount of seal without feeling tight. They also never once felt like they were going to fall off. Even vigorously shaking my head back and off, the earbuds stayed firmly in my ears. **Excellent Sound+ app** I recommend that you download the Sound+ app before you do anything else. Jabra developed a feature rich, highly useful app making it an essential complement to the user experience. Once you download the app and take the earbuds out of the magnetic case, the app will initiate the MySound feature to optimize the audio experience based on your personal hearing profile. Much like a hearing test, the app will have you put an earbud in each ear one at a time and play tones of various volumes to gather your hearing profile. The Sound+ app is the brains of the earbuds. Using the app, you’ll be able to perform a number of customizations such as adjusting the intensity of active noise cancellation (ANC), adjusting the amount of ambient sound that comes through the earbuds (Jabra calls this Hear Through), adjusting the user customizable five band equalizer, configuring the buttons on the earbuds to your specific liking, adjusting the Soundtone feature to allow you to hear your own voice while on calls, saving three different listening profiles (My Moment, Commute, Focus), and even playing sounds to mask the noise around you such as white noise and nature sounds. **Splendid ANC** I’ve tried various ANC truly wireless earbuds from various manufacturers and I have to say that the ANC on the Jabra Elite 85t is remarkably good. The noisy humming of my bedroom fan disappeared and my family’s dialogue became nothing more than a whisper and sounded distantly far away. The ANC does its job best with lower frequency sounds and ambient sounds become significantly muted at mid and higher frequencies. In other words, the Jabra Elite 85t does a darn good job at keeping unwanted noise out. You can vary the intensity of the ANC through five levels with a slider via the app. On the opposite end, sometimes it is not desirable to have ANC, and you may want to allow some ambient noise to come through the earbuds such as when you need to be aware of your surroundings. Well, the Elite 85t has you covered here with its Here Through feature. The microphones pick up the ambient noises allowing them to be heard and amplified through the earbuds. Just like the ANC feature, there is a five point slider that varies the intensity of the ambient noise to be heard. **Great Audio Quality** The audio experience is highly subjective. It’s a good thing the app has a five band equalizer to enable customization of the audio to each individual’s specific audio taste. The audio from the earbuds sound pretty good to me. I think it is well balanced. However, I would have liked to have a little bit more crispness and sparkle and a wider soundstage. It has plenty of low end energy when needed, without bringing down the rest of the audio spectrum. I listened to several bass test audio on youtube and was surprised at the amount of bass that rumbled through the earbuds. **Negligible Audio Latency** I love watching videos on my phone and pc while using bluetooth headphones but just hate it when there is a visible lag in audio compared to the video. The Elite 85t did not show any noticeable audio latency. Big thumbs up from me. **Robust Bluetooth Connection** With the Elite 85t I did not experience any dropouts, stuttering, or loss of connection between the right and left earbuds. The wireless connection was robust whether I was 30 feet away from my phone or had my phone in my pants back pocket. **Crystal Clear Call Quality** The folks on the other side of my business phone calls have told me that my voice sounds clear. **Ability to Connect to Two Bluetooth Sources Simultaneously** Jabra calls it Multi-connect, the ability to be paired to two devices at once. So if you happen to have two mobile phones for instance, you’ll be able to accept calls from either device. **Wireless Qi Charging or Wired Charging. It’s up to you.** When you need to recharge the earbuds, just place them in the case and either charge them wirelessly with a Qi-certified charger or use the included USB-C cable. The Elite 85t are a great set of wireless earbuds. They’re not perfect though, and there were some things which I wished they could improve upon. --Battery Life is Ok-- According to Jabra, the battery will last up to 5.5 hrs with ANC (up to 25 hrs with charging case) and 7 hrs with ANC off (up to 31 hrs with charging case). That’s decent but I’ve seen other truly wireless earbuds that will last longer than 7 hrs between charges. The Sound+ app shows three different battery meters. One each for the left and right ear buds and one for the charging case. It bothered me that the right ear bud drained between 10%-15% faster than the left earbud. I guess it makes sense that the right ear bud drains faster since it is the master earbud that receives the bluetooth signal from the source device and also must route the signal over to the left earbud. Nevertheless, I wished the two earbuds would drain more uniformly. --Mono Earbud Mode: Right earbud Only-- The left earbud won’t work on its own for music or for calls. Only the right earbud will. Conclusion: The Elite 85t just seems like the right choice. There’s a lot to like about these earbuds from the comfortable fit to the excellent ANC and the really good audio and voice quality. If anything, it should be on your short list of truly wireless earbuds to audition.

Best Wireless Headphones!
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The Jabra Elite 85t True wireless earbuds are the best headphones I have ever experienced. Sound quality/Noise canceling is excellent and is the most comfortable ones I came across that actually stay in your ear. The Jabra Sound APP offers many features to utilize the earbuds. The controls are also impressive on the earbuds helping me control everything without having to touch my device. The hidden gem I found with these is that they connect to two devices at once!!!! I have used these headphones for everything including my Zoom meetings and phone calls and people can hear me clearer on them because of all the microphones on the buds. They truly are excellent all around. The battery also lasts forever as I barely charge them but use them all the time. I recommend the Jabra Elite 85t True wireless earbuds.

Decent Performance for a Mid-Priced Ear Bud
||Posted . Owned for 9 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought these because I wanted something without cords, and I tried several other manufacturers before settling on these. The fit is pretty good, although my ears must be between sizes because I can't find the perfect bud. I would not wear them for vigorous exercise. Controls are easy to use and pretty easy to remember. They pair automatically as soon as you take them out of the case. Battery life is pretty good, but I have no basis for comparison. ANC works well for an in-ear headphone, but you can't expect it to be as isolating as over-the-ear models. The sound quality is where it gets interesting. With ANC activated, it is decent but not spectacular. In any other mode, it is anemic, thin, and unlistenable. Most surprising is that the sound quality is still better than other comparably priced models I tried. All that being said, my rating is with respect to other ear buds, not headphones in general.

Good Design But Sound Needs Improvement
||Posted . Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I’ve tried out a number of truly wireless earbuds in a search for the best pair. The Elite 85t checks most of the boxes, but still has a few shortcomings. If possible, I’d rate these a 3.5/5. Pros: - Controls: I love the physical buttons and that pretty much everything can be controlled on the earbuds including ANC/HearThrough, volume, play/pause, voice assistant, forward, and back. - Case: The case is small and easily portable. The build quality seems solid as well. - Battery Life: The battery life is good and on-par with other earbuds. I have yet to feel constrained by the battery life in normal use. - Comfort: This is a big one for me. Unfortunately, I have small ears so many truly wireless earbuds including the AirPods Pro are very uncomfortable. The Elite 85ts however work pretty well. I can wear them for several consecutive hours without issues. The semi-open design is nice, however it doesn’t fully eliminate the effects of bone-conduction and the “plugged-up” feeling, so moderate your expectations here. - ANC/HearThrough: the ANC is quite good even if it falls a little short of AirPods Pro. I tried it out at the gym and almost all the noise from the music playing on the gym’s speakers and people racking weights was gone. Equally as important to me, however, is HearThrough (aka Transparency mode) as I often want to be aware of my surroundings when I’m out and about or running. The HearThrough works really well indoors with minimal distortion or white noise. However outdoors is another story. HearThrough amplifies already loud wind noise, which I’ll mention in the cons below. Finally, I also like that the level of HearThrough and ANC is easily configurable in the app. - App: The Jabra app is well designed and easy to use. I like that the EQ settings applied there are stored on the earbuds so they take effect when connected to any device. Cons: - Sound Quality: This is my biggest issue with the Elite 85ts. The high-mids have a harsh, piercing, sibilant quality that’s not at all enjoyable. It’s worse with HearThrough enabled. I’ve been able to reduce it significantly by playing with the EQ, but it‘s not completely gone. I still find myself occasionally cringing when an instrument or vocals hit the right frequencies. I hope Jabra is able to fix this in the future with a software update. Aside from this issue, they sound good. The bass is rich but not overpowering. The soundstage, while not amazing, is good, and there’s a solid amount of detail. - Wind Noise: I tried using these while running, and though they stayed put well enough, they pick up a lot of wind noise. If you’re facing the wind it can be quiet loud and is significantly amplified with HearThrough on. This is a serious issue, because I want to keep HearThrough on while running for safety, but can hear nothing but wind if it’s breezy. Turning on ANC does cut down on the wind noise, but isn’t great for safety. I hope Jabra might be able to update the software to filter out wind noise with HearThrough on, but if not, expect to have to toggle HearThrough off when facing any wind. - Windows Sound Lag: I’ve noticed a significant lag when watching videos on Windows, though it’s fine on iOS and MacOS. If Jabra is able mitigate these issues with a software update it would be an excellent product. As of now, it’s a flawed but good product.

Posted .Hello Chris, we really appreciate your taking the time to write a review of the Jabra Elite 85t. We are thrilled to hear that you are enjoying the fit, ANC feature, and battery life of the Jabra Elite 85t, as well as the design and corresponding Jabra Sound+ app. We regret, however, that the Jabra Elite 85t audio quality did not meet your expectations. We believe that the Jabra Elite 85t maintains a nice balance between the highs, mids, and lows of the audio you are listening to. In order to get the best possible audio quality with your Elite 85t, we recommend making sure your earbuds are placed correctly in your ears. You can check our support page article to ensure you have the proper adjustment with your Jabra Elite 85t: https://www.jabra.com/supportpages/jabra-elite-85t/100-99190000-02/faq/How-do-I-get-the-best-fit-with-my-Jabra-Elite-85t#/. Ensuring you have the best fit with the eargels on your Jabra Elite 85t earbuds is also vital for making the most out of the noise cancellation function of your device. A snug fit will create a seal around the outside of your ear canal, which will, in turn, prevent ambient noise from getting into your audio stream. Furthermore, we strongly encourage you to check out our support article, linked here: https://www.jabra.com/supportpages/jabra-elite-85t/100-99190000-02/faq/How-do-I-get-the-best-sound-when-listening-to-music-and-watching-videos#/, which details our helpful tips and tricks on how to get the best possible audio quality with your Jabra Elite 85t. The Elite 85t also boasts a 12mm speaker where previous models of our truly wireless devices used a 6mm speaker, so you should have better sound. If you are still not satisfied with the audio quality of the Jabra Elite 85t after checking out our support articles, we recommend taking the MySound test found in the Jabra Sound+ app in order to tailor your listening experience even further. The MySound test is an audio test made up of various tones played at different frequencies in both your left earbud and right earbud, respectively. The results of the test are then used to create a personalized audio profile for the wearer. Your MySound profile is used to calibrate your Jabra device to optimize your music listening experience and is saved to both your Jabra Elite 85t earbuds and to your Sound+ app to ensure you are always getting the best possible audio quality. If the suggestions we have provided above do not help to improve your Jabra Elite 85t audio quality, please update the firmware of your Elite 85t to version 1.27, which is the most recent update. Music performance improvements were one of the targeted fixes with this update. Lastly, at this time we do not recommend you pair your Jabra Elite 85t directly with a computer as it is optimized to be used primarily with smartphones or tablets running either iOS or Android. While many of our users have found success pairing their devices to their computers, this is not something that we officially support. For this reason, we cannot guarantee device performance or provide support for performance problems that may result. Do not hesitate to contact us if you have any other questions or concerns about your Jabra Elite 85t: https://www.jabra.com/supportpages/jabra-elite-85t/100-99190000-02/contact-support#/. We are happy to assist!

The perfect truly wireless earbuds.
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. Not much more I can say about these other than the title. These are BY FAR the most comfortable and some of the best-sounding truly wireless earbuds with ANC I’ve used. The case (Which charges via USB-C or wirelessly!) and earbuds are very compact, with the former being about the size of the AirPods Pro case but slightly thicker, and the latter not jutting out too much from your ears while you wear them, unlike a lot of other ANC earbuds. Battery life is solid across the board, with the case holding 4 to 5 extra charges and the earbuds holding 6 to 7 hours of battery with ANC on and off respectively, handily beating the AirPods Pro. Speaking of the AirPods Pro, the Elite 85t’s are neck and neck with them in ANC performance. The 85t on their highest ANC setting reliably delete a lot of low-frequency noise, muffle a fair amount of middle-frequency noise, and the rubber tips finish the job and quiet the rest of the higher-frequency outside noise. You won’t hear much around you with ANC enabled, so these earbuds also pack the heat with their HearThrough (Transparency Mode) feature which will pump in audio from around you with 4 normal volume levels and a fifth amplified volume level that you don’t need to dig through the settings to enable, unlike the Galaxy Buds+ or Buds Pro. The audio from HearThrough is extremely natural, with nothing sounding overly digital or processed, most likely because of Jabra’s parent company, GN having extensive experience with hearing aids. Jabra has also knocked it out of the park with the fit on these. Although they don’t even enter your ear canal, the earbuds still block a ton of noise with ANC disabled while still being extremely comfortable for people who would normally experience a lot of discomfort from using earbuds that have silicone tips. Longer listening sessions won’t make your ears ache either, as the shape is based off of scans of “thousands of ears” according to Jabra, and I’m inclined to believe it. These will feel like they’ve disappeared from your ears very quickly once you get the fit right- remember to try ALL of the eartips included and to not push them in deep- these are meant to sit OUTSIDE of the ear canal unlike their predecessors. Also unlike their predecessors is the new oval eartip design, which many other earbuds are finally beginning to adopt. These follow the curve of the ear much better than standard round ones, so they should fit much more naturally and comfortably than round ones while still providing the isolation and powerful bass performance those do, and powerful bass the 85t’s do have. The sound quality here is awesome. Treble has a good amount of detail without being harsh or overpowering, and instruments don’t blend into each other. Mids aren’t pushed as forward as they were on the 65t, but things like voices and guitars come through full-bodied and clear. Where these really shine is the bass. It’s big, powerful, and rumbles your ears without overpowering the music thanks to the 12 millimeter speakers in these, double the size of most other truly wireless earbuds in this class. The lighter fit also results in nice and spacious audio, with well-mastered tracks really feeling like they’re being played in the same room as you. Instruments are imaged very well with a solid sense of position and distance- movies/TV also benefit from this during atmospheric or action-packed scenes, with feeling like the audio is really all around you. You’re not getting the crazy spatial audio the AirPods Pro or Max will get you, but this is the next best thing. Call quality is also great, with callers sounding full and crisp and your voice being transmitted clearly and full-bodied without letting wind or outside noise overpower it. If you don’t like how these sound, or the way something works by default, the app has you covered. You can customize almost everything these buds have to offer from ANC strength and button controls to the 5-band equalizer and call sidetone strength. The only con to these? They still use an archaic primary/secondary pairing method which means the right earbud handles connection to your phone while the left earbud connects to that one for stereo audio. This means that those of you who like to use one earbud at a time can only use the right one, which isn’t a dealbreaker for me, but if it is for you, check out the Galaxy Buds Pro or AirPods Pro. These have my full recommendation regardless of your phone’s platform- these play very well with both Androids and iPhones. You can personalize these to make them truly yours, the sound is great, the battery life is solid, the earbuds are comfortable, the case is compact, and the price is right!

Not a good as the predecessor
||Posted . Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Jabras are always good but these aren't as good as the previous 75t. These are larger, worse battery life, and sound quality isn't as good.

Posted .Hello Ryland- Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. The Jabra Elite 85t offers a different fit. The EarGels have an oval shape. This means that the body of the earbud does not sit as deeply within the ear. We appreciate this information and we will certainly pass these details along to the appropriate team. Regarding the battery challenges you are experiencing, we recommend resetting your charging case:
Open the charging case and place the earbuds inside the case.
Leave the lid open, and plug it into a power source using the supplied USB cable and the power supply or a wall charger with a standard voltage of 5v +- 0.25v.
(Note: It is not recommended to charge the earbuds/case using a power supply with a higher voltage)
Once you see the case battery level LED indication light up near the port after 3 to 5 sec, please close the lid.
Allow the earbuds and the case to charge for 2 hours to receive a full charge.
We also recommend checking out the equalizer in the Sound+ app to adjust the audio to your liking. If you require further assistance, please contact the Jabra Support Team:https://bit.ly/3fDX6ig. We are here to help!

Great Earbuds For The Working Man
||Posted . Owned for 1.5 years when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Love these earbuds!! I have tried probably 5 different styles and companies to get the fir right. That gave good sound for voice and music and the main issue with true wireless earbuds is always the battery life. These earbuds work great. They fit in my ear well, have good sound and the app is great to set up your own equalizer. They stand up to my sweating in the heat when in working. The only problem is I wear them out quite a bit quicker than the normal person would because I always have at least one of them in my ear all day long working. I would definitely recommend them.

Elite wireless headphones
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have not tried any Jabra products before so this was a wonderful surprise, excellent headphones with a very nice and smooth app to control your music listening experience The app is not mandatory to be used with the headphones but it is very useful, the headphones themselves are very light (like a feather) and even if you use them for hours there is no discomfort in your ears and they are in-ear headphones. Long batter life, easy connectivity to Apple and Android devices and they work seamlessly. Elegant charging case with USB-C port to fast charge, sturdy and it has a nice feeling to hold and touch. The active noise cancellation is a bless and works like a charm, it can be turned on and off by clicking the left headphone "button" and it is more of a touch than a click. A lot of the features can be controlled on the headphones themselves without the need to reach for the app or the phone. Equipped with six microphones resulting in an outstanding sound quality when used for phone calls and conference meetings. Highly recommended and they really deserve the "Elite" and they need a better packaging which is the only negative thing that I can mention about them. This product was received at a discounted price in exchange for your honest opinion.

A competitive pair of ANC true wireless earbuds
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.PROS: -Good enough sound quality -Case wirelessly charges -USB-C -Adjustable ANC -Good fit -Seamless bluetooth experience CONS: -Expensive for the sound quality you get -Need to download an app and give Jabra your data to get full functionality -Mic quality is only OK At $230, these headphones have a lot of competition from AirPods Pro to Sennheiser's MTW to Jabra's older TW earbuds. For pure sound quality, look elsewhere. These have a typical v-shaped sound signature with recessed mids, slightly muffled highs, and acceptable bass. EQ helps a bit, but my $50 pair of Sudio true wireless earbuds sound just as good. You're really paying for the ANC, build quality, and other features. The ANC works like a charm and is the first pair of ANC headphones I've tried that don't cause ear discomfort. Jabra advertises the airflow channels these earbuds have to help with balance, and they definitely seem to be working. However, in order to turn ANC off or adjust settings, you have to download the app. If you use the button on the left earbud, you can only toggle between ANC and "HearThrough" modes, which seems like an oversight to me. If you accidentally hit the button and then ANC back on, you have to open the app to then it off to me. I should be able to fully switch ANC off without having to use additional software. This is my biggest gripe and hopefully it gets fixed with a firmware update. The mic quality is decent enough for calls and voice memos, but I felt let down based on how much Jabra's marketing hyped up the mic quality. The main problem with recommending this pair is that you can buy the Elite 75t, which now also has ANC, for 75% or less of the 85t's price. If you don't care about the upgrades in the 85t, save some money and get the 75ts. Otherwise, if the upgrades are important to you, I don't think you can go wrong with the 85ts compared to others in the same price range.

Posted .Hello Anonymous - Thank you for your thoughtful review of the Jabra Elite 85t. We would just like you to be aware that the Jabra Sound + app offers a lot of features which give you greater control and flexibility with the Elite 85t. For instance, the button functions are completely customizable to your preference (multiple options for single press, double press, triple press on calls or for playing media). It also gives you a great equalizer feature so you can customize the audio to your preference. In the default setting, you can scroll through the Sound Modes by simply pressing the left earbud button (ANC/HearThrough/OFF). Of course, if you have any questions or concerns, we invite you to contact our Product Support Team for assistance. Contact details can be found within the Elite 85t support pages of our website and we are happy to help! Thank you.

Great sound and a well thought out app
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Over the past few years, I have read about Jabra and been impressed with reviews of the Elite 75t earbuds. I was very curious to try these out myself. I was quickly impressed by how solid these felt. The materials that the buds and case are made from feel of a higher quality than all its competitors. Setup was typical of just about all other earbuds: download app, connect via Bluetooth, update firmware, and explore customizable options. However, I was impressed that Jabra’s app performed a hearing test to make sure I got the most out of my listening experience. The only minor flaw I discovered while testing these was that during a vigorous workout while moving my head, the buds became loose and fell out. I should note that I was intentionally trying to see what it took to get them to fall out. Pros Sound from both buds during phone calls Music pauses if bud is removed Adjustable active noise cancelation Adapts to listener's hearing acuity Cons Does not stay in ears as well as earbuds with wings I would highly recommend these. The build, sound, and features are top-notch and have become my new favorite buds.

These little babies pack a punch!
||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I will be comparing these earbuds a little to the Bose Quiet Comfort CQs since I own those as well. ANC-The Jabra's ANC is very good for blocking out most sounds like people talking in the back ground or water running or anything that has a real consistent audible noise. I did hear my kids loud screams while playing occasionally, I do not hear those same sounds on the Bose ear buds. Volume- Volume on these earbuds are decent they defiantly get loud enough to block out all ambient sound for me when used with my Note 20 Ultra. Sound at max volume was good with no huge distortion the bass can get a little muddy depending on music but I found max volume pleasant. Times when the bass was muddy I was able to adjust them in the Jabra app and get a more balanced sound. Fit- These ear buds actually fit perfect, I used the ear tips that came standard right out of the box. The oval ear tips are a very nice touch I didn't feel like I was wearing ear plugs in my ear and hand no noticeable pressure while wearing the Jabra's for extended periods. The Bose QC's however don't rest inside the ear but rather comfortably snug on the outside and wing tips built into the ear tips give's it a nice snug fit. Call Quality- The call quality of the Jabra are decent but in windy environments expect the user on the other end to struggle to hear your voice. In a semi quiet environment I had no issue with the user on the other end of the call hearing my voice. Sound- These for a premium price sound very good they have great mids, decent highs and decent hitting base that doesn't over power the listener. However they don't sound in my personal opinion as good as the Bose QC's which has more of a richer out of the box balanced sound. I rated these 5 stars because for the ANC is good and I do notice a huge difference once activated. I also like that I can control the eq in the Jabra app to tailor it towards my listening style. My one negative would be the price for these costing over $200 hopefully these go on sale often and if so these would be a great buy.
