Excellent true wireless earbuds, great ANC!
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have used multiple headphones and ear buds with active noise cancelling over the years. These new Jabra buds are up there with the best. Overall comfort is good, though I have used models that stay in place better. That being said, I have no had issues with them falling out, so they seem secure enough for daily use. I do not know how they were perform at the gym or during high activity though. The Jabra app is straightforward and easy to use, with plenty of options to customize. The rechargeable case is compact. Overall, very happy with these new Jabra buds and would definitely recommend them.

Posted .Hello K1ng023- Thank you for your review of the Jabra Elite 85t. We are sorry to hear that you were not able to find a secure fit with the Elite 85t earbuds while on a run. Since everyone's ears are shaped slightly differently, we recommend trying all of the different sized EarGels that come included in your package in order to find a fit that is snug, but not too tight. You may even need to mix and match the size of your EarGels per earbud. The three sizes of smooth, silicone oval eargels create a more secure, noise-canceling seal and should provide a more comfortable fit as your ear canal is not round. Furthermore, we strongly encourage you to check out our support article which details how to get the best fit with your Jabra Elite 85t: https://www.jabra.com/supportpages/jabra-elite-85t/100-99190000-02/faq/How-do-I-get-the-best-fit-with-my-Jabra-Elite-85t#/. If you have not tried this already, we suggest trying all of the provided accessories supplied with the product to find the best fit. Finally what I've been looking for
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. As an avid runner, music fan, and podcast listener, I've been searching for the perfect set of Bluetooth buds since they became a product. To date, nothing that I've tried has been perfect. I'm fortunate enough to have been able to try virtually every one marketed to athletes over the past couple of years. I've tried several from Sony, Jaybird, Bose, as well as previous Jabras. All but the Bose SSF were designed to seal in the ear and therefore those have produced a very noticeable occlusion effect, which is the phenomenon that makes you hear your own footsteps very loudly. On such earbuds, It's possible to use ill fitting tips to loosen the seal, but the sound quality invariably suffers when you do. The Bose SSF, which I've been using for about a year or so, didn't suffer from occlusion as they were a more open design. Unfortunately, they were also bulky, uncomfortable, and difficult to operate. The 85t aren't designed to seal completely and therefore their sound quality does not suffer when they do not. As a non-sealing design, I do not hear my own footsteps. Some of the reviewers have complained that they do not seal, but to me, this is their greatest attribute. So far, here are the pros that come to mind. * Non-sealing by design, and therefore minimizing or eliminating the occlusion effect. * Proper buttons that are easy to operate and customize (I do not care for touch controls) * I find the sound signature to be to my liking, but I understand that this is very subjective. * The ability to allow in ambient sound for safety. * I don't anticipate using ANC very much, but it's there if I need it. * IP rating * Comfortable and light

Jabra Elite 85t
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I was able to open the box and start using these earbuds in less than 5 minutes. After I started listening and downloaded the Jabra Sound+ app, I found that there was a firmware update available, and that took a little time to install, but not a big deal. With the app, you can tweak the button settings on the earbuds, and toggle ambient noise, etc. I found that using the ambient noise feature did not really appeal to me, as it seems to magnify everything around me to louder than with the earbuds out of my ears. I just don't use it. The sound quality is great, but the best part is the battery life. I can put the earbuds in around 8 in the morning, and when I get ready for lunch and take them out, they still have juice (~20%). I put them in the case, go get my lunch, and when I'm ready to start listening again they're almost, if not fully charged. I've only had one fall out of my ear after several hours of continual usage, but it was honestly because I didn't have the fit just right. I swapped out the tip and haven't had any issues since.

A step back
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I've lived the T series from Jabra. The 65 sounded good, the 75t were a massive upgrade in sound and comfort, so I have been eagerly awaiting the 85T. The case that contains the earbuds is a little larger than previous versions. It still has lights on to let you know about the charge. The case also Qi wireless charging so you can drop these straight into a pad and they will charge. The earbuds themselves look almost identical to the 75t with the only difference being the vents on the buds. The app is as good as ever and now with ANC you can control the ANC and same with pass through. Now when it comes to sound I felt really let down. They have a much larger 12mm speaker and figured these would be a massive upgrade over the 5.8mm in previous versions. As soon as I heard these they didn't have that jabra sound signature. They just sound so different. It's a flat sound with none of the booming bass from previous versions. The sound is now just average which is a shame

Posted .Hello EnglishD - Thank you for your review of the Jabra Elite 85t, we really appreciate it. We are glad to hear that you were looking forward to upgrading to the Elite 85t from the Elite 75t, however, we are sorry that you are not enjoying the Elite 85t audio quality; this is certainly not what we expect. We believe that the Jabra Elite 85t maintains a nice balance between the highs, mids, and lows of the audio you are listening to. In order to get the best possible audio quality with your Elite 85t, we recommend making sure your earbuds are placed correctly in your ears. You can check our support page article to ensure you have the proper adjustment with your Jabra Elite 85t: https://www.jabra.com/supportpages/jabra-elite-85t/100-99190000-02/faq/How-do-I-get-the-best-fit-with-my-Jabra-Elite-85t#/. Ensuring you have the best fit with the eargels on your Jabra Elite 85t earbuds is also vital for making the most out of the noise cancellation function of your earbuds. A snug fit will create a seal around the outside of your ear canal, which will, in turn, prevent ambient noise from getting into your audio stream. Furthermore, we strongly encourage you to check out our support article, linked here: https://www.jabra.com/supportpages/jabra-elite-85t/100-99190000-02/faq/How-do-I-get-the-best-sound-when-listening-to-music-and-watching-videos#/, which details our helpful tips and tricks on how to get the best possible audio quality with your Jabra Elite 85t. If you are still not satisfied with the audio quality of the Jabra Elite 85t after checking out our support articles, we recommend taking the MySound test found in the Jabra Sound+ app in order to tailor your listening experience even further. Please check out the following support article to see how to use MySound to personalize your Jabra Elite 85t audio: https://www.jabra.com/supportpages/jabra-elite-85t/100-99190000-02/faq/How-do-I-use-MySound-to-get-personalized-audio#/. The results of the test are then used to calibrate your Jabra device to optimize your music listening experience and is saved to both your Jabra Elite 85t earbuds and to your Sound+ app to ensure you are always getting the best possible audio quality. You can also update your Jabra Elite 85t to firmware version 1.27 using the instructions linked here: https://www.jabra.com/supportpages/jabra-elite-85t/100-99190000-02/faq/How-do-I-update-the-firmware-on-my-Jabra-earbuds-using-Jabra-SoundPlus#/. REALLY REALLY wanted to like this...
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I've been a huge Jabra Elite fan since the release of the 65Ts. I've personally owned the active version, and have had many many hours of great use...until the left bud stopped responding. A warranty replacement fixed the issue...until the right bud stopped working. Unfortunately, by then my 65Ts were out of warranty. As sad I was, this gave me the perfect excuse to upgrade to the 85Ts! But this is where my excitement ends. First, to be fair, there's a LONG list of pros especially when comparing to the 65Ts, including the fit and feel, form factor, sound, My SOUND+ settings, and Qi enabled case, On the other hand, there's a long list of cons as well, chief among them: 1. Crackling sounds when microphone. This is a new one for me, the caller on the other end seems not to notice the call quality (compared to 65Ts), but I get a distinct crackling/static popping sound when I use the microphone feature. 2. Connectivity issues. Initial pairing and connection were smooth. However, when paired to more than one device, I'm having playback issues where there is no sound coming out of the buds despite the fact that they're the only device connected. Music is playing, the buds are connected as the Bluetooth source, the iPhone indicates that it's playing on my Bluetooth device, but NO SOUND. 3. ANC. I don't feel these produced any value add, additional functionality, or frankly any advantage over the passive noise isolation features of the 65Ts. To be fair, the 65T's pass-through hearing function was not useful at all, especially in the active version. However, when comparing the 65T's passive noise isolation to the 85T's ANC function, the 65T won hands down without the need for anything complicated, it just worked. While these work as well as the 65Ts, I expected more out of the following considering the price tag: 4. Sound quality. The 65Ts had great sound quality as long as you got a good seal in your ear. The 85Ts offer a similar sound quality (in my opinion) with a better fit, however at the price difference of $100 (at internet price) worth it? I don't think so. 5. Call quality. Despite the number of microphones, the call quality seems to be about the same to the person on the other end. Quiet office, busy street, and a bit of wind. There seems to be very little difference to the person at the other end. Maybe a slight advantage to the 85Ts, but we couldn't be sure if we can attribute that to a better phone connection at the time. 6. Buttons. Buttons are okay, very tactile and clicky (same as the 65Ts). The 65Ts, however, has better volume control management. Not sure why they got rid of this feature. Overall, I think Jabra has some quality control and bug issues they need to address before putting this out to market in that it's much buggier than the 65Ts upon initial release. I've done a reset and followed a few of the suggestions found in the FAQ section of the website. They didn't fix my issues. While I'm hopeful that they'll come up with some software fixes in the future, right now I can't recommend the Jabra 85Ts especially in light of a much more affordable predecessor.

Posted .Hi Eddy- Thank you for your review of the Jabra Elite 85t. We are very happy to hear that you are liking the improved fit and feel of the Elite 85t compared to the Elite 65t, the audio quality, the MySound feature of the Elite 85t, and the Qi enable charging case. We regret, however, that you are experiencing challenges with the microphone and the connectivity of the Jabra Elite 85t; this is certainly not what we expect. To resolve these challenges, we encourage you to update your Jabra Elite 85t to firmware version 1.27 in the Jabra Sound+ app. This update fixed the crackling noise you hear during phone calls, improved the device performance and stability, and more! If needed, you can find instructions on how to update your Elite 85t from our FAQ page support article: https://www.jabra.com/supportpages/jabra-elite-85t/100-99190000-02/faq/How-do-I-update-the-firmware-on-my-Jabra-earbuds-using-Jabra-SoundPlus#/.
Furthermore, in order to make the most out of the ANC feature of your Jabra Elite 85t, you are going to want to make sure you have the proper fit with your earbuds. The earbuds should fit snugly in your ears and the eargels should create a seal around the outside of your ear canal. This will, in turn, prevent any ambient noise from getting into your audio stream. Next, you will want to customize the ANC in your Jabra Elite 85t by going into the Headset tab of your Jabra Sound+ app. Then select Personalize your headset> Active Noise Cancellation and follow all of the on-screen prompts. Make sure you are in a noisy environment when customizing the ANC on your Jabra Elite 85t as this will ensure you get the best results. Please do not hesitate if you have any other concerns: https://www.jabra.com/supportpages/jabra-elite-85t/100-99190000-02/contact-support#/. We appreciate your feedback and we are here for you!

Perfect in every way.
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I LOVE these, I bought them at the same time I bought the Bose QuiteComfort earbuds.... these were hands down better, same audio quality, almost as good at noise cancellation (the Bose were better, but it was really close, and I tested them on the airplane, around the house, playing with the dogs, for music, phone calls, etc... for a couple of weeks). They were just as good as the Bose. Where these excel was with connectivity, the bose were just terrible when trying to add a new device, or when switching devices... trust me, they made me say several curse words every time I used them, I had to return them. They were good, once you got them connected, but sometimes, it would take 5 minutes or so to pair them... (I'd have to find ALL devices that I had connected them to, unpair them, then after a few tries I could pair them to a new device.. I was switching between my 2 TV's, laptop, and phone. The Jabras work seamlessly.
