I changed the earbuds to a pair of spares I had and now I have no problems.

I was surprised by how well these fit and stayed in my ears. They are very light and compact. The sound quality is poor, both for music when working out and for phone calls. Only the right one works with phone calls, and after the call the left may or may not reconnect to continue listening to music. The left one had a habit of randomly dropping the connection, which I found extremely bothersome and distracting. When using them outdoor on phone calls, I found it difficult to hear the person I was talking to, and they found the quality poor and I had to repeat myself several times.

The only pro of the Active is that it stays put when working out. The range is ridiculous on this one. I literally have to have my phone in close range to continue to use it.

Discrete size but too many problems

The size is awesome they are not bulky like the Bose that I used to own but....Making calls with them was ok but receiving the calls was a problem. I use an Apple phone and the connectivity when answering was a problem. When working out the the unit fell out continuously while running, mowing the lawn, or using weights. I tried using all the different ear pieces but never got a comfortable snug fit. The base was great if the unit was jammed in the ear creating pain after about a half hour of use, but other wise not so great. Finally switched over to beats pro which are bulky but fit much better, connect better with Apple, and sound better.
