The off/on switch in on the inner surface of the device and cannot be accessed while it is in the ear. You have to turn it on before you place it in the ear and miss any message the device may provide on powering up. There is a large button on the outer surface that, when touched, calls the last number called from your cell phone. It is easy to press it again and hang up but it is hard to position it in/on your ear without hitting this button and I have to keep answering call backs from people I have recently called.

The description said it can make calls. It does but you have to pick up the phone to do it. I wanted hands free. If you don't need the voice activated calling, it works great.
