Great entry into solar-enabled power stations.

This was purchased as my first entry-level solar equipped power station. The battery and features work as described. I took it camping the first weekend after purchase and it did really well. I was able to keep phones charged and even ran a small AC fan in the tent all on one charge. The 40W solar panels do a good job, but even when angling them as best I could in direct sunlight, they generated between 30-35W. At that output, the battery would take about 7 hours to fully charge. I charges in a little over an hour when plugged into utility power. I could also see this coming in clutch during severe weather.

Dear customer, thank you for sharing your experience! We're thrilled to hear that the Jackery E300Plus and 40W solar panel worked well for your camping trip, keeping your phones charged and running a small AC fan. As you mentioned, solar panel output can be affected by several factors, such as sunlight intensity, angle, weather, and panel placement, which may result in some power loss. Nonetheless, the panel still provides effective power support, especially in outdoor settings. Jackery devices can also provide the necessary power during severe weather, ensuring your devices stay up and running. If you have any questions or need further assistance, please feel free to reach out to our customer service team ([email protected] / +1-888-502-2236, Monday to Friday, 9 AM to 5 PM PST). Thank you for choosing Jackery, and we look forward to continuing to serve you!

Good product used for camping 3 days. Used to charge phone charges and battery for portable fans .
The 40 watt solar panel you need about 8 hours of good sunlight to fully charge. If you get a 100 panel you will charge faster.
The 600 watts or 900 watts are better buy if you plan to camp past 3,days . You can charge more electronics and not worry about the battery going dead, I purchased the produced using Best Buy price match from an online retailer.

I've had this for a little over a week and it's been amazing to have power at places I normally did not have in the past! I feel this is a good size for day use in case I plug in something that requires AC for an hour or so. E.g.,
*Laptop (AC)
*Desk lamp (AC)
*Phone (DC)
*Internet gateway (DC)
At the end of the day, I charge the unit back up.
All is good!

Vunerable and delicate USB C input port

Nice tool, however a design defect. 1st pic shows the input port which is a USB C port. However, port is vulnerable to damage when attempting manipulate panels to get a good angle of incidence. The cords and panels (especially when multiple panels are connected in series) are cumbersome. Seems connect should be a little more stable and less delicate. Serious setback that belies its portability. Mine eventually stopped working and jackery, after sending pics and videos, agreed to a replacement. However, design issue will dictate how i place unit with panels connected. Fyi, i live in sunny SE NC, however was never able to get better than 91 W (100 W panel) and 31W (40 W panel), quality od charge eventually became worse.

Perfect for powering/charging mobile devices

This unit is the perfect size to run small electronics and charge devices, while still being acceptable to carry in a pack to a camp site and easily store when not needed. It works great for me to charge my Core i7 Dell XPS laptop via USB-C (runs near the max output at ~85W), allowing me to manage GoPro videos and picture on the go. I use the AC adapter to charge my hand held GMRS radios via a dock. The USB ports work great on my satellite communicator and cell phones. The 12v car port is handy for running a GMRS base station or adding a few more USB ports (via an adapter). I also live in an area where multi-day power outages occur every few years (mostly due to Hurricanes) and I am sure I could use this to keep in touch by powering my 5G access point, a small light, and a few other devices.
Pros
- Build quality is good. The main unit has a solid handle with a rubber grip and beefy cords (with a zipper carrying case.
- A good selection of port options: 1 300W (600W Surge) AC outlet, 1 15W USB-A port, 2 100W USB-C ports, and a 10A 12-volt (car/cigarette lighter) port.
- Charges quickly on AC Power in around 2 hours.
- The included solar panel is solid and compact when folded with snaps/magnetic closures that make it easy to set up/take down quicky. When folded it measures approximately 12in long, 10in wide, and 1.25in thick (thickness varies because there is a numb near one corner for attaching the cable). It also has 4 eyelets (near each corner, when unfolded) that can be used to secure it - I am thinking about running some paracord through them to make a handle.
- It can connect to your phone or tablet via Wi-Fi and/or Bluetooth. The Jackery app (using with an old iPhone) is handy for seeing the current battery level, charging rate, toggling outputs on/off, seeing status warnings, and changing a few basic settings. When connected via Wi-Fi you can monitor it remotely (no direct connection).
- The combination of LiFePO4 battery and configurable battery management (limits charge/discharge to maintain battery health, when 100% power is not needed) should mean the battery will last a long time.
- Jackey's warranty is solid: 3 years plus 2 more years if you register it on their website.
- Built-in light is bright and useful for getting other things plugged in set-up.
Things to Consider
- Solar panel performance really varies. The peak charge rate I saw was around 28W (vs the 40W claimed) and overall, I was only able to gain about 25% charge in 6hrs with intermittent clouds. To maximize charging you have to adjust the angle of the panel every hour or two to follow the sun or the charge rate drops significantly (~50%). I plan to carry a folded piece of cardboard with a few notches cut in the back of it to support the panels and allow some adjustment to the angle (I have also seen stands made of PVC and angle iron, but I am trying to keep the weight down for now).
- Make sure this enough for your intended load. 300W total is a reasonable output for how portable this unit is, but things like electric heating elements and large motors/compressors will require more power/surge current than it can provide. As an example, I am considering using it to help maintain a small camping cooler/fridge for short periods, but I am worried that might limit everything else I can charge given the battery capacity or force me to get a larger solar panel.
- The only DC to DC charging it offers is via the USB-C port at 100W. If (like me) you plan to charge this using your vehicle's 12V car/aux port on longer trips, you will need a 100W 12V car port to USB-C adapter (these are pretty common and affordable).
- The manual has some precautions to keep in mind and some that surprised me given the intended use. You are supposed to avoid vibration, dust, and moisture exposure to the main unit - probably ok for the solar panel, but that might be hard to do when camping and/or charging with the length of cord provided for the solar panel (best I plan to do is keep it the tent or under cover, but dust and vibration happen). The max long term storage temperature range is 77F (much lower than the max operating temperature 113F), so make sure you plan to store it in-doors vs an unconditioned shed/garage to avoid battery issues.

Small portable power house

I have one the quietest portable inverter generators on the market that I use for work and I’ll sometimes use when I’m camping. As quiet as it is, it still produces more noise than I want when camping . With the Jackery 300 plus I can get power and not have to worry about the noise or carbon monoxide. When we go camping sometimes I’ll bring a small 32 inch tv and maybe a console for the kids and this is the perfect thing for that. Doing a test running with just the 32 inch tv, the battery only lost 18% of its charge running the tv for one hour. While running the tv, the fan came on but it’s extremely quiet and I only knew it was running when I turned the tv off.
Having the solar panel for me is a must, especially if you’re doing any kind of tent camping where there’s no electricity. You get the ac cord, car adapter and solar panel for charging. Probably the biggest surprise for me is the app. The Jackery app allows you to control your ports, see the battery charge status, how much output you’re using and much more. And the app to product connectivity and functionality are first rate. In my usage they've connected every time and on the first try. I’ll still have a need for my inverter generator, but I’ll need it less often with this. The Jackery is super lightweight and portable and I don’t have to worry about the noise or carbon monoxide poisoning.

More uses than expected but 40W panel isn't enough

The Jackery Explorer 300 Plus is a really interesting product that fills a niche that's actually bigger than I expected. The Explorer 300 Plus is marketed toward outdoor/adventure creators, or at least people who spend a lot of time with electronics outdoors. As an RC pilot I was really intrigued by the idea of being able to charge my LiPo batteries without having to run a noisy generator and without having to carry a kludgy car battery based solution that I had previously used for charging at the flying field. Once I had the Jackery system in my hands, however, I started to think of other little ways that I could use it to take some of my electricity use "off-grid" at the house, and surprisingly it is convenient enough that I expect to get plenty of use out of this even when I'm not flying my RC stuff.
First I just wanted to say that the included 40W panel is not quite enough and I'll probably be upgrading to an 80 or 100W panel in the near future. I think if you're in an area with plenty of sun you might be fine with the 40W, but I found that even if I do my best to get the panel lined up perfectly with the sun the most I can expect is around 32W of charging power from it. At that rate, it takes about 8 hours to charge the Explorer 300 Plus from empty to full, and it takes some finagling to keep the panels aligned with the sun as the day goes on. My yard has tons of shade but by using two different convenient spots I'm able to keep the panels in the sun for about 6-8 hours per day. As long as you can maintain about 30W of power from the sun, you can charge a DJI Air drone battery without draining the Jackery itself, which is pretty cool. But I feel if you have an 80 or 100W panel you won't have to be so attentive to how your panels are angled to the sun to get decent charging rates. On the plus side, the fan that kicks in to cool the Jackery is very quiet and the thing is not disruptive at all when working or playing outside. I happen to have a 100W USB-C PD car charger and the Jackery would make for an excellent replacement for a car inverter given how quiet it is - just stick it on the 100W charger to keep it powered up, then run a few things off the AC plug for your kids in the back seat.
I took a little pride this weekend in charging my Jackery exclusively from solar panels on Thurs and Friday and then using the "free" solar energy to charge the batteries for my 40W ryobi outdoor power equipment. Mowing season is coming to an end this year but next year I will definitely be using the Jackery kit to keep my electric power equipment charged up.

We bought this to use when camping so I can bring my CPAP. Without heat on, it'll last at minimum two days, longer if I can get a solid charge in, but that depends on weather, location, ect.
Often I will put the panels in the back or front window of my truck when we go hiking. While not the largest battery, it definitely does what we need given the price. The only down side is that it requires a USB-C adapter (provided) for the solar panels, but it seems to already be bending, so I'm worried about durability.

Honestly this is a great product, just wasn’t perfect for my use case. I originally purchased this because it was the bundle with the solar panel. I was going camping for a few days and needed a source of power for a CPAP. After messing with my CPAP settings I was able to get a mostly full nights sleep with 32% battery remaining, but that’s where the ease of use ended.
This solar panel is just not as strong as you need. I found the sunniest spot in a field and at full mid-day sun I might have seen it top off at 32-34W input. Now I don’t expect full 40W from that solar panel, but even at that strength it was going to take more hours to fully charge than there were hours of sunlight in the day. If you’re using this for general charging like phones or small things like fans or lights, you’re probably going to have way more satisfaction.
I ended up buying two to cover my other half who also has a CPAP but ended up returning one. I still like the product a lot and kept one because it’s still worth it to me. I’d recommend understanding just how much power you need before committing to this specific bundle. The power box itself was super lightweight and portable as all get out, but that panel really should’ve been a bit stronger to make me 100% satisfied.

Easy to set up and use, I like that it’s not to heavy to carry around. I took it with me to a festival and was able to change any devices I needed. I was also able to use it for an iron. It lasted 2 days on one charge, and the solar panels made it easy to charge while I was gone from the camp site.
