    Beautiful Digibook!

This digibook was hard to locate but worth every penny! It's put together nicely and had some interesting facts about the movie. The blu ray version of this movie looks amazing! So much better than the 2000 DVD which is what I owned previously. I downloaded the digital copy which ended up being 3 files, there was a 4.4gb file(HD), a 1.8gb(extras) file and a 2gb file(SD). About 8 gb of space seems like a bit much just to have the digital version. I also activated the ultraviolet version which took quite a while because I had to open accounts at 3 different places to make it work... That was a hassle but it worked pretty well in the end and it doesn't take up any HD space to use it. If you can't get the digibook version I would definitely go for the blu ray version, you won't be disappointed!

The original and still the BEST

First...the negative reviews submitted by others do not reflect the product, but reflect product availability and misunderstanding of what the product actually was. Even though I lucked out and managed to get a copy at my local store I do agree the availability is ridiculous. Having said that it should be a criticism of Best Buy and not the product. This is a great edition of "Jaws", far and away better than the DVD version from a few years back. The hi-def conversion from the original negative is amazing. The clarity and sharpness is great! The extras are great too. If you've never seen this movie or just haven't seen it in a while this is a great addition to your movie library. Consistently on every "Best..." list there is. Plus it was the first movie in history to break the $100 million mark at the box office and made Spielberg a household name.

    Great Film

Frist off I am amazed at the Morons that gave this Blu-ray package a bad review because they are upset at "Best Buy". Grow Up! Now back to the review which is what the review feature is about. To review the "Item" for sale. This is a must have film for your movie collection. The first real big summer blockbuster. You know the plot, the actors, the director. So the review is on the Blu-ray transfer. Picture a 10 - The entire restoration process was conducted in conjunction with Steven Spielberg and Amblin Entertainment's post-production team to ensure the integrity of Spielberg's original vision remained intact. Audio a 10 - DTS-HD Master Audio 7.1 Extras a 10 - The Shark is Still Working: The Impact and Legacy of Jaws #SD; 1:41:21#. This is listed as an "all new" feature length documentary, but Jaws fans will know it actually comes from 2007. This is a fantastic overview not just about the film and its technical challenges, but how the film influenced scores of subsequent filmmakers. Jaws: The Restoration #HD; 8:28# is an in-depth look at the efforts made to restore Jaws, featuring several Universal executives and technicians, as well as Steven Spielberg. The Making of Jaws #SD; 2:02:48# is another really in-depth #vintage# piece that looks at the nuts and bolts #and animatronic hydraulics# of putting the film together. Spielberg, Peter Benchley and a host of others involved in the production are interviewed. From the Set #SD; 8:56# is a vintage #1974# making of featurette with a very young Steven Spielberg. Deleted Scenes and Outtakes #SD; 13:33# Jaws Archives Original Theatrical Trailer #SD; 3:15# UV and DVD Copies Pocket BLU App D-Box and BD Live Enab You may know the movie but watching the documentaries on the making of the film is very informative. Looking at young Steven Spielberg just getting started. And to think Richard Dreyfuss thought he made a mistake after signing on to do the film. During production he thought it was going to be a major flop. The package contains over 40 pages of information on the cast / crew etc. If you like classic films, action films well-made film this is a must have. It stands up to anything released today over 35 years later. And still makes you afraid to go into the water.

    One of the Greats

Honestly i have watched this movie since i was 4, now i am 21 and the movie still has not lost its flair of excitment and suspense. Its such a great movie that people i know who dont care for suspensful or thriller movies cant believe that they never seen it until recently. they also cant believe that something made in 1975 can be so good. So i am urging you if you have never seen this movie buy it immediately because you cant beat the price bestbuy is selling it for, unless ofcourse you have one of those 5 dollar certificates from bestbuy haha. Go out, Get it, Get a snack and drink, Sit down and Enjoy!

After spending hours searching for local availability online, I got so excited when it popped up as available on Best Buy's website in my local store. I got so excited!!! I quickly ordered one online and then watched on the website as the status quickly went to unavailable in my store. Last night I went out to pick it up... I felt like I was touching gold.. It is beautiful packaging and well worth the time I spent waiting for it.. I really got an adrenaline rush with it almost like a Great White waiting at the bottom for a seal to ambush on the surface...

    a great scary classic

Spielberg & co. managed to grab victory from the jaws of defeat (if you'll pardon the pun) with their perseverence through this movie's diffcult shoot by making a classic. An island community suddenly finds itself terrorized by a massive great white shark. This leads the town sheriff (Roy Scheider), a shark hunter (Robert Shaw), and a shark expert (Richard Dreyfuss) to track the animal themselves, where they must deal with both the shark and each other. John Williams's scary music is another plus in this film which balances great scares with great character moments.

    They're All Gonna Die...

I have loved this film since I was about 10 years old and attribute my fear of the murky ocean water to this thriller. I have read (very few) negative reviews. I don't know why anyone would say "not one to watch more than once". They play this movie on televsion over and over year after year for that exact reason. It is is a 70's classic. The fact that you only see the shark towards the end (due to technical difficulties during filming) only adds to the suspense. The musical score is perfect. One liners are wonderful. See it, own it and watch it again and again.

    Great restoration

This is a classic movie that has been restored beautifully. The only thing that could have been better are the extras that were shot in widescreen, but shown in a 4:3 format. I do not think it would have required that much effort to correct this. I still gave it 5 stars for the movie and extras content.

First I want to thank Best Buy for making it a difficult task to acquire this Blu-Ray/DVD/ Digital Copy combo. And want to thank the girls in Best Buy - West Covina for help me with it. I drove from South Los Angeles region to the San Gabriel Valley. Now, the Blu-Ray features are so amazing but nothing is more amazing than the way the picture resolution appears on a LED 1080p television. JAWS has never been seen better than now on this new release. Thank you Universal Pictures.

JAWS is one of the best films of all time, and now it comes in a phenomenal BluRay edition with all of the extras from the previous DVD release and a whole bevy of new material, including the documentary "The Shark Is Still Working", a labor of love detailing how the film has affected the lives of others. Couple this with the previously released "The Making Of Jaws" and you've got every story imaginable. For casual fans or film buffs like me, this was a MUST HAVE.

This is how all releases should be

Jaws is my favorite movie of all time. This blu-ray release is as near perfect as one could hope. Despite there not being an audio commentary, which Spielberg never does, there are two feature length documentaries on the release. That alone is worth the price. The sound and picture was meticulously restored and it shows. There is also a feature of the restoration process. I could not be happier.
