I have tried a lot of these earphones. I have one in every corner of my home so I can use it whevener I will need to be quiet or wherever I decide I just want to run-- so far this one is the MOST COMFORTABLE. Any earphone that I have ever tried, be it over the ear, or buds, they hurt after a while. This one has these soft plugs that snugs into my ears. And you know how it is when the buds are not snug--- whatever technology these earphone guys put in their gadgets they will all sound tinny if they are not snug in the ear. So yes, if you are asking about the sound-- they are good because they don't change while I run. Be careful though-- you need to make sure that you put the right plug in your ear or else it will keep falling off. That was what happened with my first run. Also, the speed harness is brilliant-- why didn't anyone think of this before? So easy to keep the excess string snug to your head. Connectivity is easy-- out-of-the-box I press it and my Pixel can see it. No issues with this one. I really like these earphones!

Pros: sound is pretty good but I just use them for working out. Calls thus far have been good-no dropped calls and caller can hear me Sound canceling is good Cons: plugs constantly fall out of ear. Like other reviews state, no matter what size, they won’t stay in. I believe this is due to the weight of the battery/volume control/etc pack and it gets worse if you put on the supplemental battery. Speaking of which, they do not stay charged as long as stated. You have to connect that extra battery for it to last a decent amount of time which only weighs down the plugs even more, leading to them falling out of your ear-gets annoying. The louder you listen to music, the quicker the charge disappears. It’s been frustrating having to lug around the extra battery for the additional charge and it’s also the only way to charge the headphones. I’ve tried other wireless headphones which were just as good and more than half the cost. This was a gift so I’m making due, but i would not buy these for myself.

    Great Sound, Quirky Design

I have had a handful of wireless bluetooth earbud similar in style to these and I can say that the Jaybird Freedom 2 are some of the best sounding buds I have owned. The sound is very evenly balanced and crisp. Volume is good. Bass is better than average for in-ear buds. Everything about the audio is very good. As for the fit and design... It turns out I am not a fan of "behind the head" wires. As a bald gentleman, I found the cords would "stick" to dry skin if snugged up (as illustrated on the website and in the videos) which caused a frustrating tug on the buds depending on which way I turned my head. My wife also tried the buds and found that she did not like "behind the head" and found them challenging to use with her long, curly hair. (In a pony tail she found behind the head tolerable after some adjusting.) Wearing the buds with the cord in the front is awkward. In the end, it was tolerable to loosen the cord all the way then clip it to the back of my shirt. The trade-off was some bumping of the in-line control/battery pack. The "clip-on" charging cradle provides extra battery life but also weighs down one side of the earbuds. Operating without the cradle lightens the cord significantly and creates less "banging around" when working out. That tiny little snap-on battery is insanely easy to lose, HOWEVER, IT IS THE ONLY CHARGING SOURCE FOR THE EARBUDS. This is a big design issue for me. I am confident I will lose the charging cradle rendering the earbuds useless to me. Also worth noting, Jaybird assumes you have your own USB charger base (i.e. cell phone charger with wall plug) that you will use to charge these buds. Wearing the buds with the stems down caused me some ear canal discomfort (in the "notch" part of my ear) after about 5 minutes. Wearing them "up" (a feature noted on the Jaybird website) with the cord then wrapped behind my ear was a bit more comfortable but felt less secure even with different fins. (Note: I did not experience the buds falling out of my ear at any point, stems up or down.) My wife did not experience the same pain wearing them stems down so the issue is exclusive to my ear type. The fins are nice and soft and I found them practical and comfortable, but I struggled with the stems. I am not big on tweaking so I did not mess with the app. I did not run them dead but trust that they will get the 4/8 hours of battery rated on the website. Finally, the in-line, raised button controls are easy to feel and operate especially compared to some other brands. Jaybird's controls truly are "fumble free." To reiterate, the sound quality is among the best I have experienced with in-ear sport buds. Very balanced for a wide variety of musical styles even without tweaking via their phone app. Sound quality alone is reason enough to buy these buds but keep things like "behind the head" cords and "snap-on charging cradle" in mind as possible drawbacks.

Jaybird Freedom 2 isn't comfortable for me

I have been using the Jaybird X2's for the past year and was looking forward to the benefits of the Freedom 2. Unfortunately I have been underwhelmed. The Freedom 2's are smaller, but the earpiece is now a single piece. This does not allow as much adjustment to fit the earbuds. The older X2 earbuds were totally customizable for a better fit. The Freedom 2's have 4 different sizes. The smallest fall out of my ears and the next size up are too tight and uncomfortable. On the positive side, they don't seem to lose connection as easily, but considering my phone is in my front pocket, they should never lose connection. I like the way they now have 2 batteries. One in the controls and a separate clip on battery. Each should give you about 4 hours of music. If you have a hard time finding earbuds to fit your ears, I would not recommend these earbuds.

The Jaybird Freedom2 wireless earbuds are the most comfortable in the ear headphones I own. The sound is great! The Bluetooth connection is easy and stable. There is an Android and iOS app to adjust the sound profile of the headsets that works well and is easy to use but not nessesary for the earbuds to work. The headphones come with an extended battery pack/charger which snaps on the control box. The control box has an internal battery that lasts about 4 hours the extended battery has about another 4. The included additional earbud sizes fit any ear and can be worn in ear or around the ear configuration. The length of the earbuds is easily adjusted with a sliding mechanism so there is no addional wire. The control box includes a microphone for handsfree phone calls. Hiking, running or just listen to good music you will find these earbuds fit the bill.

      Hi ...,

Thank you very much for your detailed review and feedback that we take very serious. We are super happy to hear that you have a great experience with Jaybird RUN when training. However, we are not so happy about your experience at the Las Vegas marathon. As you pointed out, the wireless signal density at events like that can have an impact on Bluetooth connectivity. We have put together some tips how to ensure best connectivity under the following link:

The Jaybird - FREEDOM 2 Wireless In-Ear Earbud Headphones - Carbon is great pair of Bluetooth earbuds. I used two different methods to connect them to my devices. The easiest method was to simply go to my settings Bluetooth feature and tap search, after turning on the headset and then tap on Jaybird. The second method was to download the Jaybird app from Google play and connect through the app. Connecting through the app gives an equalizer of DJ quality that you can adjust your music’s sound. The volume is loud and using the equalizer can create the pitch you desire. Adjusting the length of the cord to fit securely around the back of your neck is easy, just from pulling the cords or cord clips. There are four pairs of ear tips that can be fitted for over or under fitting inside the ear. Also, included is a portable battery charger that will give four hours of power while traveling. These headphones are perfect for the active lifestyle of being on the go.

I read the reviews prior to getting mine and I must say I was a little hesitant. I didn’t really like the packaging but decided to give the earbuds a try instead of returning them. First off I agree with some reviews the buds slide off from time to time which makes it super annoying. There is a pouch that is included with different size buds( from s to l). Find your fit and stick to it. Secondly, the charger peice that connects to the mic can easily be misplaced so what I do is I keep mine on it at all times( once you charge the battery part up you can basically charge on the go... super easy to charge also). Last but not least, the music quality is very good( kills background noises completely). I like them.

The Jaybird x3 sport earbuds pack impressive sound yet sleek enough to go anywhere. These impressive earbuds fit firmly in your ears with interchangeable parts to fit your style, as noted in Jaybird’s material “They Just Fit”. The Jaybird earbuds are made to be on the go, with an extra battery pack that gives you four extra hours of playtime (that’s eight hours in total) to keep you running. Two Highlights; The build which uses “Double Hydrophopic Nano” coating to protect against moisture, rain, snow, mud and sweat. Use the Jaybird App to tweak the amplified speakers to your taste, good stuff. The Jaybird also have the best sound out of all the ones I have. Overall these are the best earbuds that I have ever used. I know they are exceptional as my son tried them and will not give them back!

    Good sound, bad fit

    Posted .
This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.

Good sound quality if you set them up using the app. Out of the box the sound quality with the ‘flat’ profile is terrible, but after choosing a preset I really became a believer in the sound they can make. Regarding the fit. The size 3 tips were pain free but too loose which compromised the sound quality. With the size 4 I was able to get good sound but the fit was too tight and my ears would tend to get sore after awhile. In the end I ended up getting the bose SoundSport wireless. They have a similar design with the ear tips but I get a way better fit. Good sound quality but with without the soreness using the medium tips. I would say the freedom 2 have sightly better sound once setup using the app, but it ultimately came down to the fit for me. If you can get a good fit then the freedom 2’s could work out well for you. I also tried the beats x and power beats 3 but the bose were the winner for me. The only other ones I didn’t try but wanted to were the x3’s.

Until now, I have never been a big fan of in-ear earbud headphones. I have relatively small and sensitive ears which has made it difficult for me to find earbuds that not only fit, but are decently comfortable as well. These Jaybird - FREEDOM 2 Wireless In-Ear Earbud Headphones are the first earbud headphones I have found that do a decent job of solving both of these issues I tend to have with most other earbud headphones. The removable tips / fins come in four different sizes which almost guarantees you will find a size that is right for you. Once I found the size that was right for me, it became clear that these are the best fitting earbuds I have ever used. Comfort-wise, they are decent enough although my ears did start to get a little sore after about 30 minutes of continual use. This is likely more due to the fact that the inside of my ears are not used to having earbuds in for a significant amount of time so it really shouldn’t be considered as a “negative” of the earbuds themselves. When it comes to the actual performance, these earbuds perform quite well although I have noticed some occasional skips / drops in sound while listening to music from my phone. The music was actually saved on my phone and was not being streamed over the internet so the random drops couldn’t have been due to a spotty internet connection. Call quality was fantastic and the built-in microphone comes in very handy and seemed to work very well. The adjustable cord length is a really great feature as well since I also have a relatively small head. When adjusted to its shortest setting, I am able to wear the headphones without much slack which keeps them securely on my head and in my ears. The battery adapter is a bit bulky and adds a significant amount of weight if you try to use the headphones while it is attached but this should rarely be needed since the headphones are said to last approximately 4 hours on their own. Overall, these are great earbud headphones which are of high quality and which will likely last a very long time.

I like the sound that’s produced but they are either falling out or causing uncomfortable amount of pressure in my ear. I can’t wear over the ear bc it’s pulling on the ear piece to fall out. If I wear it under the ear the weight of this cord does the same thing. I have to force them in which is not comfortable. But once I get the sweet spot I’m fine but it’s a chore.

I absolutely love my jaybirds. The sound is great. They are light weight. And tough as nails. If I'm awake they are in my ear. I just put one ear piece in my ear and put the other around the back of my neck. And tuck it over my other collar bone and under my shirt. Keeps me entertained.

    Great Sound, So-So Battery Life

    Posted .
This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.

I love the sound, it is much better than the Bose wireless and you can modify it to your preferences in the free app. The range is much better, so I'd give it 5 stars for the sound. However, one star for battery life--its not 8 hours as advertised. but closer 3 hours. That's okay for me since I use it for working out and don't workout longer than a few hours at a time. There is a mobile charger you can plug-in and it adds a few hours, so if you get into a pinch you can do that. However, its a pain carrying the charger into the gym because its so small it could easily get lost. If it gets lost, you can't plug the wireless headphones into an USB port to charge.

I like to run at the gym and when I’m done, I am usually soaked in sweat. The foam buds are nice but are too soft when they are wet. The regular soft plastic buds are also nice. But I find that when my ear is soaked in something, they fall out. Usually the right one or the side with the controls. The best thing is the one with the wings or lips. It comfortably fits in my ear and stays put. I was very hesitant to start using them. They seemed weird and unable to fit in my ear. But I fell in love once I tried them. Perfection! It’s as if they are noise canceling and my ears don’t get too hot. I haven’t reached a point when they are too uncomfortable. But I love trying new headphones and finding out what works and what doesn’t. I would highly recommend this to people that are fed up with other headphones. Try them out for 2 weeks if you’re on the fence. Best buy has a great return policy. Try it out!

The sound is great from these earbuds for 2 reasons, the comfortable fit and being able to tweak the sound from the app. The app makes these earbuds stand out from the rest because I never had earbuds that had an app before. Bluetooth pairing was straightforward and the wire manager did it's job. These earbuds will definitely replace the ones I have now.

I enjoyed these earbud headphones in every aspect except the battery life. The battery life is supposed to last 4 hours on its own. But turned out it was more like 2 hours. Including after charging with the clip to full charge. The adjustments for the cord works GREAT and is good for working out so the cord doesn’t swing or dangle. The sound is great also overall. The app helps a lot. If you don’t mind charging it constantly then I would get these. Otherwise, I recommend getting something else.
