As with many other reviewers, I bought the "special edition" pair that were on sale for Black Friday for $49.99. I've been using these for a couple of days and I absolutely love them and can agree with what some of the others reviewers are saying, but disagree on some complaints as well. What I like: For starters the sound is great, maybe I'm biased because my other pair of earbuds I was using for working out were $13 JVC earbuds that sounded like the music was coming from a tunnel five miles away, but the sound quality is great. I highly recommend downloading the app for these earbuds as well (it's free) and you can further adjust the sound settings to your liking. Also, take time when you first open them to see which fins and ear bud sizes fit your ears the best. I just ripped the package open and put them on how they were. After a 1.5 hour workout my ears hurt because the bud size was too big and the fins were also a little large. Range: I was amazed at how far the Bluetooth range is for these earbuds. I could walk from one side of a dumbbell rack to another (so lets say about 15-20 feet) and still hear the music crystal clear. What I don't like: As many other reviewers have pointed out, the control piece on the earbuds is in a very awkward place. If you don't use the little cord clips that shorten the slack, the control deck sits right next to your jaw and looks weird just hanging there next to your face. Also, as others have pointed out, the control deck being in such a weird spot causes the right earbud to tug out of your ear. I didn't notice this problem for weightlifting activities, but absolutely for running/jogging. I will say using the little clips that shorten the slack sort of help with the control deck tugging the earbuds out of your ears. Battery: Without using the external battery pack, the battery life is pretty mediocre. I fully charged these earbuds before using them and after my first workout (1.5 hours) they were down to 78% battery life. Not terrible, but not great for being brand new and only charged once. Overall for the money I think these are great wireless earbuds. I wanted a pair of earbuds for fitness activities that sounded great and got rid of the annoyance of wired earbuds tugging and getting snagged all the time when working out and so far these Jaybirds have answered that. The price is right in my ballpark as well.
