Lightweight and fits easier under helmets etc.
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have had the bluebuds and X2 prior to getting the freedom headphones. Jaybird headphones always have high quality sound and performance. But my biggest issue with previous models was the bulk underneath hats and helmers while skiing or biking. The freedom headphones solved that problem. They are so slim that I don't even notice them. My friend works for jaybird and insisted that I tried these ones so she gave me a pair to test out. They passed with flying colors. I like having the external battery because I can still wear the headphones while they are charging unlike previous models where you had to take them off and sub in another headphone. I would highly recommend these!

Convenient but misses the mark
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Pros Several earphone plugs, ear attachments and configuration options to ensure the right fit for your activity. I was able to wear these comfortably while longboarding, olympic weight lifting, calisthenics and running. The sound quality was as excellent when the device was working normally Cons Device connections became corroded from sweating just after 1.5 weeks of use. I live in high humidity area and used the earphones on a hot humid day. On this day I used the battery pack during my activity. I believe the pack caused the device to retain sweat between the electric connections. When the sweat evaporated it left behind salt. I did not detach the battery pack from the earphones and by the next morning the connections were corroded. The earphones were not able to be charged. Out of the box there are too many pieces that can be lost, if you are not a careful person then you can lose some critical components easily. With that said the device comes with a nice carrying bag if your organized enough to keep all the tiny pieces there after each use. The audio is spotty. I experienced frequent audio skipping while running outdoors. This a noted problem with the headset and jaybird recommends that you use an armband so that you can place the earphones as close to you and possible if your running outdoors. Overall I had a bad experience with this headset. It did not live up to my expectations or the pricetag. Returned product after 1.5 weeks of use

Sadly dissapointed in the fitment but great sound
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Let me start off by saying I wanted to love these. I've been looking forward to these since they were unveiled alongside the X3's at CES in January. I currently have owned my Bose SoundSport in ear headphones for a year and wanted to upgrade to the famous Jaybird's. Pros: The sound on these headphones provided better lo's, mid's, and high's thanks to the Jaybird equalizer app. I thought it was a bit of a gimmick at first but it actually made a big difference. Because the headphones sit deeper in your ear canal, it sounds a lot better than my Bose. Onto the cons. The fitment was awful enough for me to decide to return them and not believe these warrant a $200 price tag. Because the battery is no longer housed in the ear bud to minimize the size, it is now built in to the remote on the cord which sits below the right ear. It was a smart idea but Jaybird didn't think it through. The remote is heavier than normal now so it constantly tugs to the right during a workout. It gets even worse during a longer run where you sweat more, so the cable sticks to the back of your neck lopsided to the right. The earbuds included are OK. If you sweat or run in your workouts, expect them to fall out. I used seceral combinations of buds, ear wing tips and fitments that it wasn't enough to keep them in without falling out once. That is where my Bose has them beat. The ear buds stay in place with the ears because of the winged tips. Battery life on the Freedom's were about in line what they advertise, 4 hrs without the extra battery. These headphones shouldn't be advertised as 8 hrs becuase that would mean you're using the extra battery which lopsides the fitment even worse. Don't get me wrong, I love the sound and flexibility of use of these headphones but the cons easily outweighed the benefits. I returned them and believe the X3's will be the best of both world's. The X3's will have the battery built in to the ear bud to rid of any lopsidedness, will be able to use the Jaybird equalizer app, and is supposed to be a bit smaller than the X2's.

Small Yet Mighty
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. As a previous Bluebuds X owner, I was skeptical of the smaller size of the new F5's. Any concerns I had before purchasing have completely vanished. I simply can't believe the sound quality generated by these earbuds. Most importantly, while I really liked the older Bluebuds, those never quite fit right. These are so light and so well engineered they fit like a glove. Worth noting, I also purchased the Comply T-500 Isolation earbud replacements and put them on immediately. This is a wicked combination that I highly recommend. Kudos to Jaybird, and thanks to Best Buy for being the first to carry these locally.

Amazing Sound Quality
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I've had the jaybird X1, X2, Powerbeats 2. These have the best sound quality out of the 4. My main problem with the x2 was how big they were. These stay in my ear through an entire workout. Once you find the proper wings and ear tips they are perfect. They also get way louder than the X2 and block out more noise because of it. If you're on the fence don't hesitate

Sound is great, fit not so much!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I've had a every jaybird Bluetooth that ever came out. This is by far the best as far as sound goes. Being able to adjust eq settings on the jaybird app is good as well. Blocks out a nice amount of noise when you're at the gym. The only complaint I have with this headset and every other jaybird headset that I have is the fit. I've tried every combination of using sm, med, and large fins with the buds that come with product to get a better fit and that doesn't seem to work. I also bought some comply earbuds from Amazon hoping that would correct it and still nothing. Constantly falls out. That's with placing them in the front of my neck and behind as well. They are to expensive for me to keep if I'm going to continue with the same issues as before. Will be taking these back.

Best sound quality.
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I've been a long-time Jaybird user starting with the original Blue Buds X then the X2s, and now the Freedoms. While I haven't had a lot of time with the Freedoms yet, they are exactly what I had hoped for. The sound quality is absolutely on point, just like the previous models, and the equalizer app actually works MUCH better than I thought it might. Nicest feature has to be the size though. I can finally put them under a hat, helmet, or rest on my side on a plane without having a bud pushing into my ear.

My first let down by Jaybird
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. When I first bought these, I thought they were great. By far, these are one of the best sounding wireless headphones I've owned to date. I have owned the X1 and the X2 by Jaybird and bought these because I lost my X2. My X1 lasted almost 2 years which is why I stayed with Jaybird. Not only is the sound great, but the light weight of these is great while running. I rarely had issues with these falling out of my ears even though I did not use the attachable ear pieces to hold them in. My only complaint had been the weight of the control piece. It is slightly heavy comparably to the whole setup. This did make it slightly uncomfortable on one ear. However, now after owning this product since May 7,2017, the device is failing. I noticed about two weeks ago, I was losing bluetooth connection when I would advance a song using the controls on it. I am unable to pair the device back until hours later. Now, the device fails to charge past 60%. 3 months use out of a $100 plus set of earbuds. Seriously, not what you should expect. Hope this doesn't happen to you. I am currently trying to do a warranty claim, however, there is no obvious method for submitting a claim. I will update if I ever make progress!

I love my F5s!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. As an owner of the original Freedom headphones, I've been a long time fan of the performance I have gotten from my Jaybird bluetooth earbuds. When the F5s came out, I couldn't resist upgrading. The small design is very lightweight and comfortable in my ears, and the sound quality is top notch. There are so many great aspects of these ear buds to be excited about. I like the Comply foam tips, they are really comfortable. I also love the new soft carrying case as opposed to older hard case that came with my original pair. I can fit it in my pocket much more easily. The charging cable is much shorter which is nice. The cable between earbuds isn't flat like my old pair, which is really great because they hang more straight. I am so excited to have my new F5s, these things are great.

I love it
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. In the beginning I hated them, I had to take them back because they kept shutting off. I own 5 pairs of head phones by jaybird and these are by far my favorite and they are even louder due to the EQ app that accompanies this headphone. I got the white and gold because they match my iPhone 6s+ and all my other apple devices. The only draw back for me is that I wish that battery pack was white instead of black, called the company and they said they made all of the battery packs black because they didn't feel like matching the color but yet they charge xxxx amount I think that was a lazy action of their part plus their case that came with the headphones could of been a hard case like they use to offer. If a person is willing to spend $$$$$ on a product you should at least hit every corner instead of trying to save a few dollar on the product cost. I believe that if any consumer is going to put out a product they should give it their all. But in all I'm happy with them that's y they get 4 starts in stead of 5 from me

They Completely Died
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I previously reviewed these wireless sports headphones and gave them 5 stars. They sound great and fit perfectly in my ear. They never fall out when using the secure fit techniques that are posted on the jaybird website. However they have completely died on me three times when battery life was over 60%. Out of nowhere the sound cut out and the battery was dead. I don't know if this is a defect or was caused by sweat as I do sweat a lot. Either way it is not acceptable with a price tag of $200. I gave it two stars for fit and sound. Would've stayed at 5 had the battery not died. I am a very dissapointed customer. Be wary of these headphones. I disregarded previous reviewers with this problem until it happened to me. If you opt to buy them, the protection plan is a must.

Design flaw
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I love jaybird, I had the X1, X2 and I was pretty excited about the X3&Freedom. quality didn't change, the fact that you had to have a portable battery in order to charge the headset was just a hassle. If you loose the portable battery which is about 2inches by half inch, you cannot charge your headset and either have to buy one off of ebay or take your losses and purchase a new headset. fitment and sound quality were not bad. If you use these to workout, they are not sweatproof. if you sweat a lot, some of it will enter the controls circuit and will eventually damage the headset. also, the battery tends to not charge as much as time goes by or will not charge at all. I had to exchange these twice and after the second one gave me the same issues the first one did I tried other brands. Tried Bose sounds sport which were not good, JBL under amour which were horrible, and right now I have the SONY XB80BS. The Sony have not disappointed me yet.

Awesome headphones
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. So I tried the jaybird bluebuds and I just couldn't commit myself to wearing them because of the fit. My ears are small and they just kept falling out so when I heard about the Freedoms and their size, I was so excited. So I have to mention that my first set were lemons but... customer service was amazing and replaced it right away. So now I have been trying my Freedoms for about a week and a half. Things I love are: one-the size is just right and my ears are not sore. Two- I do not feel or notice the weight of the controller, it's great! 3rd- I love the idea of adding the extra charger that snaps on to the controller. I haven't had to use it yet because I listen to my audio book throughout the day and charge it at night and we have been fabulous.

Download the Jaybird MySound app!!!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought these to listen to at work in the mornings (I'm constantly moving so wires are a pain and get caught on everything), bike riding, running, etc. At first, I thought these were just decent headphones for being Bluetooth, but once I downloaded the Jaybird MySound app they absolutely blew any other headphones I've ever owned out of the water! They have some presets that you can play around with to tune to your sound preference or you can start from scratch. They also have the oval shaped earbuds which are much more comfortable for smaller ears and extended wear than normal earbuds. 100% satisfied with my purchase!

WHAT! So much better!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Very pricey, however after having several versions of JayBirds (and losing some), I had to get a new pair. I liked the fact that they are wireless and I’m not tethered to my phone, this makes for great runs and workouts. The previous JayBirds I have had in the past were a little bulky and sounded okay. So, when I saw a new pair, I had to try them out. I was a little skeptical simply because they were 70% less bulky than their previous versions, but don’t let that fool you! I am AMAZED! The bass and quality blew my mind when I first tried them. Also! I downloaded the JayBird app on iPhone and it lets you customize every channel on your headphones from Bass/Mid/Treble. Something that I never had before on any headset. Also, there are presets from artist and celebrities, also the option of making your own settings. Overall, very lightweight, amazing feel, small, and by far the best headphones on the market thus far!

Wow!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Wow! I'm huge fan of Jaybird products, and these are by far the best thing they've releases yet. These headphones are so much smaller than anything they've released - and than anything else out there! Sound is incredible and if they last as long as their other headphones these will be perfect.

Good, but cheap
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. These are what you'd expect out of a pair of $50 wireless buds. They sound okay, the build quality is sub-par, but the BT signal is strong and they do work. We ended up returning them because you're active the battery pack bounces around and they fall out. We tried using the suggested methods in the box, but it still wasn't comfortable to do so. Spend a little more and get something else like the PowerBeats 3.

Perfect buddy for long runs
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I'm consistently trying to find earbuds that will keep up with me on long runs outside, and these Freedoms totally filled that need. They stayed put, delivered consistent high-quality sound, and best of all they never distracted me from my workout. I would recommend these for any outdoor activity where you want music but not the hassle of cords or wires.

Wonderful Bluetooth Headphones
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. So i have actually had these before they were ever officially released by Jaybird or even advertised anywhere. When i got these the app for the equalizer(which is great), wasn't out in the app store yet. Overall the best in ear headphones that i have ever had. Battery life is pretty good considering how small they are. I thought the inline mic and controller was going to be an issue while running but after adjusting the cable i can't even notice it while running for long periods of time. The fitment is fantastic and once i found the correct wings they stay in my ears through running, jumping, and even when i was paintballing. The sounds from these little buds is better than a lot of the over ear headphones that i have had. Out of the box and without the app they might not sound that great but once fine tuning them they really stand out. They seem pretty durable too. Noise isolation is pretty dang good and i can barely hear any of my surroundings. i don't turn them up too loud while running because i want to be able to hear my surrounds just enough to know if cars or cyclists are coming. Not a fan of the foam tips that are included. Might just be me but they kind of leave my ear feeling weird after trying them. Not the most comfortable tips. Now i use these in the car with one in my ear so can call and talk to people hands free. Mic quality is alright, not great by any means. People who i have talked to on skype and in regular calls say its a bit quiet and just doesn't sound all that great. But i mostly got these for running and for that they exceed all my expectations.

A few flaws
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Quality of sound is pretty good on these but the max sound volume could be higher. Decent base but not as deep as the Bose Soundsport wireless. Ear buds come in a few sizes so fit was not an issue. The battery is in the control switch which is the biggest design flaw in these headphones. So while the ear buds don't weigh anything, the control switch is heavier than other wireless headphones without this design. When I turned onto my side to do a side plank, the ear buds feel out. So these are okay if you don't ever turn on your side to do your workout. Also, this issue of heavier switch causes a weight imbalance. When I tried to run with these, they would pull to the heavier side (where the switch is located) and fall out.
