    First pair of Wireless Headphones!

So far these have been great and I've been really impressed with the sound quality! It took me a few tries to get the ear pieces to fit right, but other than that I have no complaints. I love that they are wireless and that I don't have to worry about cords getting in the way when I am weight-lifting or running. Lastly, I love that they match my gold iphone 6s so perfectly. :) **Disclaimer: I was provided with a free product for my honest review. Killer buds!

These headphones are the best I've ever experienced. The over the ear fit has easily become my favorite way of wearing. With the chord clips, I was able to make the wire tight around my neck and felt no chord rub at all on my rides and runs. I was lucky enough to pick up a pair of Freedoms from Jaybird and couldn't be happier!

great wireless earbud but not the best fitment

    Posted .

I recently bought these on black Friday sales for $50. After reading some bad review about fitment I decided to give it a try since I am no jogger or someone who does exercise while listening to music. I thought that the fitment might not be a problem to me since I don't move around too much but boy am I wrong. These earbud fall off easily just by tilting my head. The battery or controller on the right side of the earbuds is too heavy causing it to fall off my ear ever 2 to 3 mins just by turning my head or looking around. It got to the point where it started getting annoying since I have to constantly fit it back into my ear. Now for the pros, this earbud are great in sound quality but it does lack bass if you are a heavy bass person. This earbuds are pretty flat in sound but you can tune it with the app which helps a lot and improve it much better. Well, I didn't keep this earbud I return this earbud back after two days of owning it since I cannot bear the right earbud falling off every single time I move my head around.

    Amazing Sound!

My new F5 earphones: (a) stay in my ear; (b) have amazing sound; (c) let me talk on my phone; and (d) are a cool color!! The sound and the overall product engineering seems truly special. I use them at the gym, while running, and for telephone conversations. I do not have eardrum syndrome, and the fit is loose enough that it does not create any internal pounding in my ear canal. I like the additional ear foam and ear bud sizes sent along with the product – those are usually good backups to keep available. However, I’m still on my first foam pads, and the fit (into my especially large ear canal) is excellent. I have had many earphones for many different purposes. Now I have one for all purposes.

Purchased these headphones as soon as they were available. Originally watched a video on these headphones months back and was super excited to see a pair of bluetooth headphones that didn't look absolutely ridiculous. These definitely are a great pair of headphones both in fit and functionality. The only drawback is the battery life, but since this is my first pair of bluetooth headphones I don't really have anything to compare them to. I would HIGHLY recommend these headphones for anyone and for any lifestyle. Price is steep, but they are well worth it.

    Great wireless headphones!

The sound quality is awesome. The wireless ability works great. The only issue was trying to find the best combo to get them to fit in my ears (apparently my ears are shaped slightly different). Once I figured out the right combo they fit great. I can't mention enough how I love the wireless ability and how small these buds are. I highly recommend them. Excellent Quality, Design and Features

These headphones are like nothing I have ever experienced. Since they are so small and compact with ear buds, I assumed they wouldn't be very powerful. However, the power and quality of sound are beyond comparable to headphones that go over the ear. The ear fins have ended my frustrations when it comes to trying to work out with headphones -- they stay put no matter what I am doing. The charging clip is absolutely genius, and allows me to charge them when I am on-the-go. All around an awesome product. Disclaimer: I was provided this item as a free product for my honest review. Jaybird did not influence my opinion of the product in any way.

    Great Idea, but flawed design

    Posted .
This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.

Pros: Sound great, stylish, and useful app integration that allows you to change EQ. Cons: Fatal flaw in design (read below) I previously had the Jaybird X2 headphones and really thought those were a great product. When mine were broken beyond repair I decided to give the new Freedoms a chance as the smaller ear bud was appealing to me. They were able to shrink the actual buds by moving the battery and other components to the volume control dongle. This and the decision to include a battery pack, which is the only way you can charge them, is unfortunately the fatal flaw. The volume control dongle has metal contacts on the back of it for the battery pack/charger. When you sweat your sweat comes in contact with these contacts and the headphones fail. I went through two pairs, thinking the first was defective, but now I realize this was just a poor design decision. I can't recommend these to anyone who plans to exercise in them.

I work in a huge office building and I sit right by a conference room that gets really noisy. I absolutely love these because they drown out a lot of useless chatter. The only real downside is I cannot hear if someone is talking to me over a wall or anything.

I wear protective headphones often. I am a jack of all trades and many of those are NOISY! I also love music. I have had what I thought were great ear buds that were almost small enough not to bother me when wearing headphones. I picked up a pair of these bad boys and my life is forever elevated. BETTER sound. BETTER comfort, when doing what I do. On behalf of the goodness that is now my life. Thank you JayBird.

I got my freedoms the week of the release and the sound is phenomenal. I love the my sound app and the small size of the buds makes the wear SO comfortable. I'm amazed at the quality of a Bluetooth headphone for the price. 10 out of 10.

A friend of mine at Jaybird hooked it up with these buds. I really like how lightweight these are especially without the fins, the foam tips seem to have a tighter fit and don't slip out when I'm moving. I have only use them a few time but see myself reaching for these over my X2's

    Great for gaming, too

    Posted .
This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.

I’m not much of an athlete but I’m a huge gamer. Unfortunately, any over-the-ear headphones tend to smash my giant ears pretty harshly after any extended gaming session. So when I got these earbuds I wanted to test how comfortable they were for the marathon sessions as well as the quality of the sound. So, for the extended play session, I took the opportunity to get caught up on some Diablo 3 seasonal play. (Season 6 has been well underway for a while and I have some real catching up to do.) They come with a choice of earbud tips, and I used the spongy ones and was able to comfortably play for hours. The sound was great on Diablo, but I wanted to test them on some games that relied on more ambient sounds to create a definite mood, so I pulled out the old Alien: Isolation. It’s a great game, and the clear sounds made it a whole new experience for me (since I had only used speakers previously). Just for good measure I also tried them on the most recent Dark Souls and found that to be a great use of the sound quality, too. So, long story short: these are not my official go-to headphones for gaming. "Full disclosure: I was provided with a free product for my honest review. If your a motorcycle rider and looking for a great wireless Bluetooth in-ear headphones the jaybird Freedom F5 are perfect! I have tired different Bluetooth headsets before, only the Jaybird F5 with how it's design did the Job. No more pressure and pain on your ears with snug helmets on. The sound quality, durability, battery life are great. Oh yes, the app for the headset was a great add on to customize it.

The headphones have a very heavy volume control piece, causing the earbuds to fall out constantly, even when not performing vigorous exercise. The battery life is awful for the price compared to other brands, but they suggest adding a small charging block onto the device for extra battery. That device just weighs them down even more. The sound quality is also subpar. It produces clear sound but lacks anything outside of volume. To be more specific, it has little to no bass or tremble. My Apple corded earbuds produce a better quality sound and they are about 1/8th of the price. I am very disappointed overall.

I really wanted to like these headphones but...

Background:. Current jaybird X2 owner. I love the X2s, was hoping for more with these. As others have written, satisfaction and sound quality are highly dependent on fit. Pros: Pretty good sound quality. Equalizer app is easy to use and effective. Ear buds are small. Cons:. The controller / battery module that hangs off the right earbud makes the entire setup unbalanced and uncomfortable. It always feels like something is tugging at my right ear. Fit is not as good as the x2s - I just can't find a comfortable fin that holds the buds in my right ear, and the ear buds don't seal as well as the x2s. Summary - in my opinion, a good set of headphones, but not a great set of headphones - and step back from the x2

Better off getting a cheaper pair

    Posted .
This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.

I use wireless headphones because it is the easiest way to bike without worrying about a cord getting in my way. I have used wireless earbuds from $20 to $100, so I know the range of quality in the market. I bought these when they were marked down to $40. The sound quality is great, but you can honestly get the same quality in the $50 range. The battery leaves much to be desired at this price, as I ran through it in one day of on and off listening - most others allow for at least 3 days of that much. The real deal breaker? The design. The little wings that are removable are uncomfortable and do little to keep the bud in your ear (at all sizes). I removed them, but the earbuds simply wouldn't stay in my ears. The volume control is heavy and swings back and forth, exacerbating the problem. Also, the smaller size of the part that actually goes into your ear fails to stay on the end, making the larger option the only choice. It's not a matter of convenience, it's a matter of usability. You are better off with saving money and buying Skullcandy. If you want to pay more, Bose or Beats are way better bang for buck. Side note: When you turn them on, you get this obnoxious 2 second instrumental noise that is unnecessary. I wish that I could return these, but I threw out the packaging. I'm just going to sell them off to a friend and buy a cheaper, more useful pair.

I am a huge supporter of Jaybird they make excellent products. But the Freedom F5 have to be the most uncomfortable Jaybirds I've ever used. I don't like how they sit in your ear, I'm constantly adjusting them. They don't have the Comply tips. Which really make a difference in comfort that's why I'm going to exchange these for either the F2's or X3. Battery life is horrible! And the mic is very distorted when taking calls. The music sounds excellent though. Don't worry Jaybird this is just one bad apple. I'm exchanging them for another one of your products.
