    Like a Crazy Ex- Girlfriend

I have been intrigued with Jaybird ever since I purchased the x3’s this summer. I was blown away with the sound right off the bat but of course I ran to a few hiccups (but I won’t get into that right now). I tried the Jaybird run and I was impressed at how good they looked. Pairing was easy and I didn’t experience any connection issues because they were already updated out of the box. The sound was good (after using the mysound app) when the right earbud was only connected. It was clear and nice. When both earbuds were connected I noticed some static/distortion with the mids and highs. I can compare them to the Jam Ultra which I experienced the same issue. The sound was just not clear and rattled in the background. I reset them 4 times and I must say if that issue did not occur they would have worked for me. I feel after all the connection issues that people had in the beginning and the sound issues I encountered this product was rushed and not ready. I just have been let down by this product and it seems to be a gamble on whether you will get a product that works properly. I already returned them for the apple AirPods which sound crystal clear. I still find myself wanting to give them another try because they have potential but I just don’t want to be let down again. Kind of like a crazy ex girlfriend.

I bought the jaybird bird x5 and they were great so I wanted to see how the jaybirds run were. At first out the box they both had cut out for a second it was fine though. Then I updated them using there software. Not once did they cut out I actually worked out for two hours and all was good I even forgot they were in my ear. The sound is great. They have a jaybird app that you can download to your phone and you can adjust the sound to your liking Wich is fantastic. The battery life ain't bad either in the two hours of working out they were at lft ear was 80 and the right was at 78 Wich ain't to bad I had worse. deff are a Great product.

I really wanted to like these earbuds. The fit was great and the sound was good when I first tried them sitting at my desk paired with my iPhone. Once I took them to the gym the troubles began. At first, the left bud would not work, then the sync issues. It could not hold a connection for 5 seconds at a time. After about 10 minutes of this I ended up swapping them out for the Jaybird X3s I had on standby. I decided to give them a shot for my run the next day. Again, I could not get the left bud to work at first, then the volume seemed too low at maximum level when if finally did work. Decided I had had enough and could only foresee more problems in the future if I kept them. Back at Best Buy one of their employees suggested that my iPhone had not had a recent software update (not true.) Given the similar reviews here I see a pattern. Looks like it will be a while before someone designs true wireless earbuds worthy of a $179 price tag.

    Good connectivity, bad sound quality

The connectivity on the pair I had was flawless. The only pair of bluetooth headphones I have had that never cut out or lost connection while I was running. They also fit nice and snug in my ears. The case and headphones have a very premium look and feel. The only bad part was the sound quality. I tried adjusting the Jaybird eq to make it sound better, but it never sounded that great. I ultimately returned the headphones because the sound quality was just so bad to my ears. Not distorted, just lacking depth.

      Hi,

We are bummed to hear that you had to return the device due to the sound quality, It seems to best way to raise the volume is to switch the controls and create your own customized sound using the EQ. We are stoked you had a good connection and found a great fit that is great feedback and we really appreciate it.

      Hi ByeByeJaybird,

Thank you for your review with the Jaybird RUN. We are sorry to hear that the multi-function button did not meet your expectations.

By default, the single press control on your Jaybird RUN are

      - Play/Pause, Accept/End a call for the right earbud
      - Activate Siri or Google Assistant for the left earbuds.

To be able to control the volume using the buds, install the Jaybird App and select or "Alternate Controls" under the headset settings. This will change the single press control of the buds to volume controls.

Should you require additional information or assistance, please do not hesitate to reach out to us via email at Please reach out to [email protected] and we will do what we can to help improve your experience and fit.

I was looking forward to trying the Jaybird RUN earbuds.  The RUN are packaged nicely and include a nice little egg-shaped carry case that also acts as a charging case. They also come with several difference size tips and "wings" that help the RUN stay secure in your ears.  Unfortunately, right out the box, the left bud didn't work. I called customer service and spoke with a friendly agent who walked me through the reset process, including a hidden factory reset. That didn't work. We tried a software update by connecting them via cable to my computer. That didn't work. They said they'd send another pair. For the record, a quick internet search shows a number of other folks have had quality issues, particularly with the left bud.  After a few days went by with no replacement, I replied to the customer service confirmation email to ask what was going on. I then did that about 10 more times over the next two weeks with no reply at all. Finally, I did get an email indicating their records showed my case had been resolved, so the file had been closed. I called again and spoke with another very friendly customer service agent who looked over my info and seemed flabbergasted. She indicated no replacement had been ordered, and the case had simply been closed. She indicated there was no documentation of any of my prior emails. She walked me through the same steps to reset and update. When that didn't work, she opened a new case and expedited a new pair to me. She also emailed me a return slip for the original pair. Shortly thereafter, the old pair was back with Jaybird and the new pair was in my hands.  I'm happy to report the second time was the charm.  The new pair worked immediately. They paired quickly with my phone. They hold the connection very well as long as I'm within about 20 feet of the phone. They charge quickly. The swappable tips and wings make them feel comfortable in the ear. The fit is a bit tighter than what I'm used to with other ear buds, but I presume that's because they're fully wireless. As a result of that tighter fit, the buds have pretty good passive noise canceling properties (technically, they're referred to as noise isolating). I was pleasantly surprised by how well they worked in that regard. The tight fit can also make them feel a little itchy or "swollen" in your ear after an extended period of wear, but it's not terrible. Once you get used to them, you hardly notice it. In terms of use, there is single master button on the right bud that is used for pretty much everything: play, pause, skip, answer call, disconnect, etc. That's understandable given their size, but it can be a little confusing at times. There is also an app that allows some sound customization, although the impact of any change is fairly limited, IMO. Sound quality is very good for small completely wireless earbuds. The noise isolation helps in that regard. The sound is slightly muddied, particularly in the mid ranges, but there is a surprising amount of bass, and the higher tones are decent. The sound does not come out as completely pure, but neither does it seem over-produced, as some headphones do. So, we have good comfort with a secure fit, noise isolation, strong bass, decent highs, and good (albeit slightly muddied) mids. Other than the miserable experience of customer service dropping the ball on getting a replacement (and, of course, needing said replacement in the first place), I'm very pleased and look forward to many more hours of wireless listening with my Jaybirds.  If not for the need to get a replacement pair and the issues with customer service follow-up, this likely would be 5-star review; but those are things that I can't completely ignore.

This Jaybird wireless headphones are great for those active people that wants headphones that are waterproof and dirt proof. It has great sound and with their app on your phone you can control your settings , music and much more, it even have a setting where you can locate your headphones if you loose them. The only problem I have was to keep the right side of the headphones inside my ear, I changed the ear tips and other accessories to keep it inside my ear, also did had some problems with Bluetooth connectivity at times , but you just have to follow the instructions to where you can put your phone near the right side earbuds for best connectivity.

Good headphones. Had purchased JBLs and these are much better headphones. Able to set treble, bass, etc with this set. The wireless feature is nice. Product is great on downloaded content, but on live content there is a delay if you are playing video or watching live TV. Only reason I gave it 4 stars rather than 5. But would definitely recommend these based on price point and the quality of the product.

I work out at the gym with corded headphones up until I got the Jaybird Run True Wireless Headphones to review.  There is nothing more annoying than lifting weights and having your cords get in the way.  You either have a phone hanging or it pulled the earbuds out of your ears.  Neither circumstance is good.   I normally have issues with ear buds not fitting.  These stay in.  I'm impressed.  I've jumped.  I've run.  I've walked.  I've lifted weights.  No issues.  I actually forget they are in my ears! The third reason is the bluetooth rocks.  It took me all of 5 seconds to set up with my phone.  You are able to pair with your Bluetooth-enabled device from up to 33 feet away.  They support hands-free, headset, A2DP, AVCRP, SPP profiles. Charging is a breeze, and they hold a long charge.  You get up to 4 hours of audio streaming per charge and up to 8 hours with the included portable charging case.  This means no going out on me in the middle of a workout! They are also sweat resistant.  This is so important since I use them to work out!   Lastly, they have 6mm drivers.  What does that mean?  The sound is incredible!

This set of earbuds came with the most complete set of adapters I have ever seen. I am sure Mr. Spock would be pleased to be able to get a secure fit with one of the many adapters. For me, I found them very comfortable to ware. Not the longest battery life (about 3.5 hours) but I love that there are no wires. All wired head sets always get uncomfortable when the wire gets caught up on my sweaty skin causing them to pop out of my ears. I did notice that the volume was not super loud but I was able to enjoy my tunes while out and about. The case is great as it charges the buds when they are in it.

I was skeptical about going completely untethered, but these earbuds really stay in, even when I'm sweating like coal shoveler on a steamboat in July. I sweat profusely during my workouts, which would make you think I'm a solid rock by now, but that is not the case, but you're here about Jaybirds, not my failing fitness goals. The Jaybird Runs work great, and realistically up to about 5 1/2 hours nonstop. That's 5 albums, or 1/25 of an audio Stephen King novel! The charger gets them bak up to 100% from 0% in about 45-60 minutes. My only gripe is that you can only choose either volume or play/pause function for the buttons. PRO: Look like a pudgy cyborg in the gym. CON: Reaching into your pocket to change the volume.

I've had these for almost a year now and absolutely love them. At first I had problems with them falling out of my ears but that was my fault not getting them in properly. Had to mess around for a month or a little more just to get the fit right but you don't want to lose one of these things. I've used them on runs and on 3 hour bike rides and they stay in. Battery life is good too. Sound on these are great. I've played around with the app and have them set to where I like it. My phone shows I have the volume at 2 bars and they sound loud, and I'm hearing impaired. I've seen other reviews where people say they lose connection to their phone, I've maybe had brief interruptions a couple times like it cut out for a second but I had that happen with the Beats that I had. Make sure you update them before you use them. I've even made a call while riding my bike and the person didn't complain about the wind noise. This is truly a great product and I highly recommend if you a looking for wireless headphones.
