I’m a runner and a crossfiter. I love to run outdoors and even do some of my crossfit workouts outdoors as well and because I live in Florida this means that I really struggle finding headphones or earbuds that can take the damage that I inflict. I am happy to say that after over a week of using them outdoors and indoors the Jaybird RUN wireless earbuds are my favorite running and workout wireless headphones! With the jaybird RUN wireless earbuds I don't have to worry about them getting ruined. I run and also do my crossfit workouts using these earbuds and I can tell you that these earbuds can really take it! We travel a lot and these earbuds are so light that I can take them anywhere, they are perfect for the plane and great for running when I travel. They have a great portable charging case perfect for on-the-go use. The Jaybird RUN Wireless earbuds have a great in-ear design. They come with multiple tips so it’s easy find one that fits you to perfection and won’t fall while running

    Great potential, poor execution

I had high hopes for this product. I've had Jaybird products in the past and love them. When I found they had the individual, in ear, wireless set in the market, I had to have them. The fit, finish was excellent. Paired with the foam tips I had used on my Freedom F5's, these earbuds were as solid as a rock. Any movement was possible and they were not going anywhere. The sounds was good, not great, but good. For what I wanted these earbuds to do, the sound was perfectly acceptable. Especially after downloading the app and adjusting the sound properties. That's where the good ended. The left ear bud was simply not reliable. I updated the firmware, performed multiple hard resets, but nothing resolved the issue. The dropout rate of the left earbud was in excess of 50% of the listening time. This was even at times where there was 0 motion, and very little potential interference by other wireless signals. Unfortunately I am returning my set and will try another manufacturers model.

I originally was looking for ear buds for my wife. I decided to buy myself a pair bought these ear buds for my wife and because the sales rep at best buy said these are some of the best based on what she's been hearing. When I went home I open the box and was happy of how fast they connect. After connecting to my phone and was pretty happy with the sound quality. I normally have problems with getting earbuds to fit but I was surprised about the fit so I went to work out to see if they will stay in and they did but the problem was the connection. I had to stop what i was doing to figure out what's going on. So it kind of messed up my workout flow.I'm literally sitting with my phone in hand and they have disconnected. I will be taking these back if the problem isn't fixed.

Very intermittent connection. They stuck in my ears great and had great sound quality but had such spotty connection that it gave me a headache. As a marathon runner I had high hopes for these and tried everything possible but nothing would work to get consistent results.

I wanted to try these for myself after reading the reviews here. The complaint of the left earbud dropping connection was not at all a problem for me. I only experienced it a few times out of 3 hours of use, and it was more like the volume dropped and came back quickly not a complete cut so it wasn’t distracting when it happened since I was more focused on my run/workout. Overall I am pleased with these earbuds and they stay in place quite well.

These in-ear headphones were so easy to connect. The first step in what was a seamless process was downloading the app, “jaybird run.” Shortly thereafter, I paired them with my cell phone which instantly took place. The sound of these ear phones is great. I received clear communications when playing my songs from Dropbox from my phone. Also, the range throughout my home was decent. I did not experience any cutouts or dropped signals. I think Jaybird has done a great job with this product from design, wear, functionality as well as usefulness.

I am rather disappointed with Jaybird Run. The fit is great for my ears; I have no complaints there. The sound is very good once I used the app and adjust to my liking. However, the connection is unreliable in the city area or area where there are potentially a lot of other wireless signals. In this situation, it will cause the left ear piece to cut in and out. It is very annoying. Unfortunately, the reply for the company so far on 10/05 was "yeah, it is expected in those areas you may experience interference." I am hoping that in the next few days they will come out with a firmware fix; if they don't, I will be returning my pair. It's a shame. I love their X2 and X3.

    Subpar Products, Can't Reccomend

    Posted .
This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.

I have owned Jaybird earbuds before, and typically they are fairly good. These are disappointing. They aren't terrible, but Jaybird can do (and has done) better. There is probably a better wireless earbud product on the market. Pros: The sound seems pretty good for the size of the earbuds and the natural constraints of the type of product, however I have not tried out competing products. The sound for sure is not as good as other Jaybird earbuds. Jaybird (as always) offers a lot in the realm of customizing fit and comfort. There are different sizes and shapes of tips and fins to try and cater to different ear shapes and sizes. Cons: The connectivity is pretty bad. Maybe I got a particularly bad pair of earbuds, but connectivity issues seem to be quite common with this product. Sometimes I will have to turn the buds off and on (put them in the case and remove them again) in order to them connected properly. Other times they'll say they are connected, but sound will play from my phone. A top review mentions that the case is small, but it does not have to contain much. I would argue that the case is probably too large; the shape is at least inconvenient for throwing in a pants pocket or something of that sort as it is a very thick pill type design. Other Stuff: The earbuds are a little uncomfortable compared to other Jaybird products, though I do have small ears for the larger buds that these are. The right earbud seems to act as a tether for the left earbud, so if the right one is off and in the case you cannot use the left earbud. This isn't a huge deal, but it is something offered by competing products. Overall, as a previously satisfied Jaybird customer, I came away from these rather disappointed. This product seems rushed, and the cons outweigh the pros. For $160, these are not worth it. I will probably return mine and look into a different product.

    horrible and unfixable static-y sounds

    Posted .
This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.

I purchased these on 8/7/18 and they came preloaded with the latest firmware, 1.1 I believe. They fit in my ears perfectly and were so comfortable I barely noticed. There's no chance in the world they were coming loose or falling out. I had zero connectivity issues. I loved the app and the ability to fine tune the sound to perfection...that is if they didn't have that annoying static-y sound in the highs and mids. It's hard to explain, but it's almost like a metallic static crackling sound, like from those old school childrens play microphone sets (think of Beastie Boys "Whatcha Want"). I wasn't the only one with this problem, I found dozens of complaints. And it seems it started with the latest firmware update, which was sometime late last year to early 2018. Since I loved the fit and deep thumping bass, I did absolutely everything I could to remedy the problem. I made sure there weren't other Jaybird updates out there, made sure my phone (iPhone 8 +) was updated with latest ios, performed soft and hard resets of the earphones, disconnected and reconnected bluetooth many times, listened to music and podcasts from several streaming apps as well as locally stored ones, I even tried every combination of wings and tips possible (though there's no way this would help). ABSOLUTELY NOTHING WORKED. And no matter how much I just tried to ignore it, that metallic static crackling was extremely distracting and drove me nuts. The dozens of comments I've read on Jaybird's community site confirms that this is a common issue that hasn't been resolved. It's a shame because I LOVED everything else about this earphones. But the sound quality is so diminished that I wouldn't tolerate it even with $10 earphones. So I returned them after a single day and bought a pair of Jabra Elite Sport earphones.

Good sound, EQ is nice, quirky to set up

Right out of the box, they worked fine. Sound is good but eq really helps. You need the phone app to use it and other features. They work well but bluetooth is a little quirky to set up on iPhone. The fit in ear is very good and they stay put but some oil canning in the plastic ear pieces happens from time to time. You won't hear it if you are listening at a normal level or low. Repositioning helped also. Keeping the ear pieces clean is always a good idea. Bottom line: Good fit, great sound, charging is easy and fast. Other than the nit picking about the bluetooth set up, they are fine, work well. We had to reset the bluetooth once but no problems since. volume control is a little slow to respond with a short lag. Again, small stuff. Yes I would recommend them.

Of the 3 wireless headphones I have had, Jaybirds are top of the line, but when it comes to connectivity is something to be desired. Having just one side (right ear) as the bluetooth connection, playing music, and the left ear for siri and Google functions is kind of odd. However I think maybe if an firmware update to correct the issue is done then maybe it will be more tolerable. Again the right bud connects to the phone and the left connects to the right. Another issue is the bud storage/charging case. The buds turn on as soon as you open the charging case, and immediately try to connect. That's fine, except the flimsy case keeps opening in my bag and stealing audio away from whatever I'm actually trying to listen with. Jaybird advertises four hours of battery life, plus another two charges from the case. I've been getting more like three hours per charge

Got these as a Christmas gift, and in the 3 months since I've had them I don't use them as much as I would due to the connection issue with the left bud, and that's with the updated firmware. I would return them but i feel that i would be hurting my wife's feelings since i know she worked so hard to get me these, so i'll just use them once in a while. When it works, it's great, great sound, good fit. But for the price point, with that bad a connection issue, I'd just say save your time and money and wait for the next set of ear buds to come out.

Not bad... but needs some improvement

I bought these from Best Buy after trying others such as Jabra, Bose, Sony and Bragi. Bragi is cheap in price, but lacks a few buttons and the battery case. However fits into the ear well. Bose is the best in comfort but they fall for the ear easily. Jabra is unbeatable but are so big, that you literally have to push them so hard into ear causing immense pain. Finally Jay Bird stands in the middle. Not bad quality in music, but the fitting can be improved and the ear hold can be better. They still fall of my ear once in a while. My biggest complain with JayBird Run is that the left ear one doesn't work when on phone call. It works when listening to music surprisingly. I am not that happy with this product after buying it with a price tag of $:179.00. The music quality is good however.

I am a huge fan of the Jaybird Runs. The sound quality is phenomenal. The free app lets you customize the sounds based on what you're listening to...and you can save the presets to your profile! Amazing feature. The connectivity can be finicky sometimes. But a reset usually fixes any connection problems. My only gripe about these headphones is the call features and batt life depending on the right headphone. When you answer an incoming call, you only hear through the right headphone, even if your left is on and connected. Also the left doesnt work without the right, which wouldn't be that big of a deal to me if the battery life of the right headphone didn't drain twice as fast as the left!

Folks just update the dang software. I never had any issues however I've updated the software anyway. No issues here. Folks everyone has different size ears. You have to take the time and figure that out on your own. It took me about 3-4 days to find the right combination. Now I'm good to go. Also the Jaybird app his there once again to fine tune your sound to "your" liking so use it. SMH. Right now I have the #1 fin in my right ear and #2 in left. I have the medium angled tips on both buds. Again everybody's ears are different. Sound is excellent. I had the Jays x3's which I loved but wanted the true wireless experience. Also had the Air pods and took back because the sound was sub par. Ok I'm done. Wait not yet. I got these knowing the reviews were bad but because of my past experience with Jaybird I knew something wasn't right. I'm glad I gave it a go....

These 'true wireless' headphones are garbage! Pros: Sound, volume, heavy bass, awesome app. Cons: Absolutely, the most terrible bluetooth connection, EVER! Any product can provide awesome features, but if they only stay connected less than 1/3 of the time when used, then NO!!! I had these for a week, then traded up to the most superior 'true wireless' headphones in the game. Jabra Elite Sport headphones are legit and worth investment!!!

A Swing and a Miss by Jaybird

This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.

Jaybird's answer to the truly wireless headphone market is none other than these headphones, the Jaybird Run, "For Runners, by Runners, Designed & Built". Now to be fair I'm no runner and I wouldn't be able to fool you in person as per my looks and weight, but these are not to be exclusive to such a niche market. Jaybird gave a great presentation of the box and layout of the headphones themselves. As per first glance you immediately find the charging case with the buds inside. As well as the other included accessories beneath the bottom flap. Out of the box the Jaybirds Run (at least in my case) came fully charged and ready to use. I had a few issues connecting to the optional Jaybird app to truly gain access to the great equalizer, but after resetting the headphones a few times I was able to access those features. As for the silicone earbuds attached to the headphones out of the box, they didn't fit me quite right, right off of the bat, so I had to adjust those a few times to get the optimal feel in my ear. The sound quality on these headphones are amazing. To quote another friend of mine who also purchased these, "Dude, I can literally feel my eyes vibrate, the bass is just that good". Now I would never recommend that you turn your bass up that high, but you get the point. These things kick butt. For something so small and truly wireless, the sound quality of these things are next to none. However I have several complains about these headphones that may impact whether or not I keep them around. 1. Watching videos on these headphones is abysmal. It is quite literally impossible to watch any sort of videos with these headphones in. The lag is just too long and awkward. If you're watching someone talk, they're still talking to you, long after the camera panned away from them. 2. You may be wondering, "now why hasn't this person mentioned anything about connecting to their phone via bluetooth, aren't these bluetooth headphones? Well yes internet person, I haven't mentioned anything about them because its also quite terrible. The right headphone works 90% of the time, where as the left earphone works 40-50% of the time. If I move my head too far to the right the left one will disconnect and if someone nudges me from behind to get my attention and I turn around, both will disconnect. Now if you're just using these to listen to music, you should be fine; however, if you use these in everyday life, good luck. Now to be fair, some of my testing was rigorous, however if these were made for runners, by runners they should've been able to pass the test. I went to PlanetFitness and tried working out and running with these headphones on. If I moved too fast the left earphone would disconnect and walking over to grab a towel to clean off the machine would cause both headphones to disconnect from my device. 3. I don't know whether to call it a consistent fact or feature, but the earbuds will still only fit about 50% of those who try to use these headphones. Overall they're fantastic phones, I just feel like Jaybird really dropped the ball on this opportunity. Unfortunately I'll more than likely end up just waiting to purchase the Bose Soundsport Free's.
