Easiest Set Up & Great Charge time

I was extra impressed with how ultra easy these wireless headphones were to set up and synch with my iPhone bluetooth settings. Sweat-proof, water resistant, and they have a 4 hour play time! Within under 1 minute out of the box I was playing my own tunes and had my earbuds synched up to my bluetooth on my iphone. Great sound and cool charging case - 4 hours of battery play time but a case that keeps 8 hrs of charge too! Great wireless earbuds for the active person

I find that the Jaybird RUN wireless earbuds are easy to use and provide quality sound in a convenient package. When it comes to wearing them, a slight twist on the headphones as you put them in your ears allows the units to properly sit in the ear as it also situates the ear mounts. The headphones come with different ear tips for the best fit, and once in place with the right size cushions, the headphones block out a lot of the ambient sounds and really allows the bass in music to come through. Jaybird RUN comes with its own app for their headphones, that allows you to fine-tune some of the parameters for audio quality and user controls. The controls are easy to use, and I had no problem adapting to their use. The earbuds have enough power to run for four hours and recharge when they are put back in the case. The case will allow you to charge the buds two times, providing a total listening time of 12 hours before a recharge is needed. I found the Jaybird RUN wireless earbuds to be a handy set of buds to use while running or just relaxing to music. I'm very happy with them.

    quality does not meet expectations

I wanted at 1st a pair of the best sounding wireless bluetooth headphones that money could get ( as I only was accustomed to having cheap headphones), they were good at the beginning , really great sound ( super low bass and high quality crisp sound), good fit and nice isolation , then the problems started with frequent interference , also when you see video on your smartphone the sound is not in sync with the image . Then the problems came when after 4 months of use one of the headphones didn't charge , I had to take them back to Best buy to get them replaced , I had a total of 3 pairs of these headphones returned to Best Buy aprox every 4-5 months of usage, and they had the exact same problems i mentioned above . I wouldn't recommend these headphones , as they are way too expensive for the problems they present , if they didn't had these problems i would be very happy with them.

    Great form factor, awful hardware.

This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.

I owned this product for less than 24 hours due to poor hardware proformance. Jaybird has a great look and feel with the RUN, however it is let down by corner cutting the hardware in the buds. That is not to say the sound quality is bad, it is actually quite good; great bass infact. The problem is in the induced audio delay that is used to sink the playback between the buds. Rather than pushing for higher end internals Jaybird instead decided that audio delays of 500ms up to 2.5sec (as I measured) would be acceptable for a high end consumer product. Many purchasers, myself included, disagree. Unfortunately due to the poor hardware choices it limits these buds to audio playback only (music audiobooks etc). Videos are rendered unwatch by the desync. I can not justify single purpose headphones at such a high price point where the X3 are almost as good for exercise with a better battery and much lower (usually unnoticeable) audio delay. Not mention the X3 are cheaper. On a side note if you do get these buds, beware of the case I had connection issues with charging right out of the box.

These are pretty nifty headphones. Fit in really well, and have a premium sound similar to headphones twice the price. My only issue is if you watch a video source such as YouTube or streaming service of your choice, the audio doesn’t sync with lips (I wasn’t able to figure out a way to sync, at any rate). Not a huge mark against it, since they are aimed at being exercise headphones, and they do that really well. After a nice jog, my headphones didn’t fall out because of sweat, and being true wireless, there was NO neck collar piece flopping about! :) Great set of accessories. Case gives you an addition 8 hours of playback, so you get the 12 hours advertised.

The Jaybird RUN Bluetooth in-ear headphones have a great design. The charging case is super handy and does the job. Also, since there are no wires to tug on these headphones stay in place quite well. For me at least. However, the same praise can’t be said for the headphones themselves. The sound is terrible. Even when tweaked with the app it is just lifeless sound. Maybe easy enough to get over since you will most likely be working out with them in, however, the Bluetooth connection is pretty bad. It cuts out and has poor range. With other Bluetooth headphones I could set my phone in the cubby at the gym and go about my workout without interruption. With the Jaybirds I got about 15 feet away before it cut out. For me, based on sound quality alone I can’t recommend these at all. Let alone the other issues with this product.

Hi joel125, thanks a lot for your review and feedback. It sounds like you are experiencing non ideal bluetooth connectivity. We have released a firmware update that is aimed to improve your connectivity. Just head to jaybirdsport.com/update and follow the instructions.
For sound quality it could be in regards to fitment, you need a complete seal in your ear for the best sound quality or it could be the volume limit on RUN. Try switching the controls in the app to adjust the volume up and you should be able to raise the max volume to a higher level. If you still need help please contact us at [email protected] so we can make sure you are getting the sound from the buds as expected. ----------

    Was Very Hopeful

    Posted .

I was very hopeful for these Jaybird Runs. This is my very first Jaybird headphones. I've tried every brand there is and always wanted a pair of jaybird because I've heard great things about them. Well, first, I'll say that the Sound is Amazing! I love the clarity and the Jaybird app with custom EQs is awesome. Second, the build could be better. I'm on my 2nd set because when I tried to change the ear cups on my first set, the little metal piece that the cups attach to literally came right off. And last, the connectivity. Everyone's Bluetooth issues are confirmed. Every once in awhile the buds lose connection even if my phone is in my hand no more than a foot away. Highly disappointed in that. It's a mood breaker when you're in the gym and your music starts cutting in and out. I tried to download the firmware, but apparently it was already installed. Will give them a few more days to see if any bugs are fixed and then I'll just end up returning them. Sorry Jaybird, I love your sound. But your build and connectivity are just HORRIBLE!

Fantastic sound quality and the freedom of cordless wireless is amazing. But there are three key drawbacks compared with the X4 and earlier corded versions. First, fit is really tough. WIthout the over the ear feature of the corded option, it's difficult to get the ear buds to stay in during vigorous workouts. Running at tempo or doing any plyometrics will result in loosening and eventually one of the buds falling out. Despite trying every blade and bud size, I could never get one of the buds to stay securely fastened once I started sweating. When one would pop out, it often led to long half in my workout while I hunted around in the grass or dirt for my bud. (Why aren't these colored with a hint of florescence?!) These episodes really wrecked these workouts for me. I eventually would learn to catch them falling out and would run with just one bud. But really, after many broken workouts, I had it with this model. Second, the nature of the fit transmits the pounding sound of my feet into my ears. This was really unexpected and never happened before with any of the X versions. I've used all the X versions and never heard this sound before. It may be the transition from the foam to the silicon buds. Third, periodic cut outs of the reception and the lack of volume control on the buds were total downers. I've moved on to a different brand altogether.

I want to love these. They fit perfectly and won't go anywhere when running. However, they constantly cut out. Even if you position your phone as recommended in the instruction manual the sound will sometimes cut out on the left bud or seem to bounce back and forth between the two. This issue will not self correct and I've had to put the buds into the charging case so they'll turn off then take them back out and allow them to reconnect. Even so, they will continue to lose connection randomly during workouts or while sitting at my desk. An additional issue is connectivity to the JayBird app is just as spotty as with the X3s. The app just doesn't detect a paired device sometimes. Going to have to take these back.

We love hearing that you found your RUN to fit flawlessly. Providing a solid fit for running or working out was a key goal for us, but we clearly don’t want to fail when it comes to connectivity. The good news is, we’ve made some steps to upgrade our firmware, and this should improve your connection without having to refer to any steps in a manual. Please go to jaybirdsport.com/updates to update your firmware, and if that doesn’t improve your connection, reach out to us at [email protected]. We’ll do what we can to make sure you have the best experience possible. jaybird

Ok headphones, but did not keep them

These headphones were good true wireless, but lacked in a few key features for me. They were comfortable and definitely felt secure from falling out. The sound was very good as well. Unfortunately a couple of things prompted me to return them. Only being able to able to have phone calls in one ear was a negative. The goal is to being to hear yourself and surroundings in the other ear. I couldn't really hear any of that and preferred the option to choose to do one ear or both. Also these were not able to connect to multiple devices. I was also disappointed in the button controls. You are only able to control pause/play and skip, or control volume (but not all together). Having come from Jaybird F3 bluetooth headphones (which were great), I really wanted to like these, but ended up switching to the Jabra Active Elite. Couldn't be happier so far.

Bought them and the jabra elite on 10/19 to compare the 2 technologically the jabra are more advanced but the jaybird run are more comfortable the ear tips fit my ear perfectly, but every one had a hard time hearing me with the jaybirds and the charging case. Is bulky and it broke 5 hrs after picking it up the pin to the hinge fell out very flimsy I am very disappointed to say the least

Good sound and app, but bad case design and button

The JayBird Run has great sound, a good fit and an excellent app to customize the sound for an even better listening experience. My only 2 negatives are, 1. The buttons on the units are difficult to push and you have to push hard. They also only perform 1 set of functions, or another, at a time, but not both at the same time (controlled by the app). Should be able to handle several functions like the other high priced ear buds on the market.. 2. The units did not seat well in the case, so I could never get a charge going. I fully charged the case itself overnight, and then inserted the ear buds, but they never charged. The LED’s did not light up to show contact. No matter how many times I tried, I could not seat them properly so the metal contacts met to conduct a charge. I returned them the next day.

Initially Thrown Off by Negative Reviews

These exercise earbuds are fantastic! I have owned previous versions of Jaybirds and was underwhelmed. Therefore, it took me a long while to decide on these. My other choices were all more expensive and the sound wasn't nearly as good as these. I was decidedly thrown off by the negative reviews. I didn't understand why these wouldn't work well. They are small, have good battery life, and most of all have great support. I bought them and made sure they had the latest firmware. I have ran with them and am fairly tall. I keep my phone (Note8) in my front right pocket in long shorts. The phone is halfway down my thigh. I get great signal. The cool thing is that I have them paired to my Galaxy Frontier watch. My watch has a ton of songs on it so I can run without the need of my phone at all. Anyway, don't believe the negative reviews. They either bought an older device and/or haven't updated to the latest updated firmware.

Solid Earphones for Workouts/Running with Best Fit

    Posted .
This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.

I am not normally one to review products, but given how painful the process was in finding true wireless earphones that actually STAY IN DURING ANY KIND OF MOVEMENT I hoped I could help others in their decision. I tried the AirPods, Bose True Wireless SoundSport, Jabra Elite 65t, and Jabra Sport. Admittedly, I do have somewhat larger ears and also participate in pretty intense workouts. I do not run distance, but I assume they would stay in just the same as the type of activity I do which includes short sprints, jumping, and being at various angles. I mention angles because I have found others come loose or fall out when laying on a bench for example. All of the above would not fit for me except for the Jabra Sport. The AirPods with no extra attachments, the absurdly large Bose SoundSport, and the Jabra Elite would just fall right out the second I did anything more active than static weight lifting. Think jumping rope or running where your head might be bouncing at a fairly quick pace. That left me comparing the Jabra Sport with Jaybird RUN. I ultimately went with the Jaybird RUN. What I like is they not only have many size ear wings and also in ear bud attachments, but they have both circular and oval shapes for the in-ear piece. I cannot stress enough the importance of these different SHAPES for the in ear piece if you are like me and have had trouble finding a good secure fit. The deciding factor for me, and I will tell you the fit is absolutely everything when it comes to sound, comfort, and staying in your ears, was the different shapes allowed me to obtain that fit with a "seal" on the Jaybird RUN. I was not happy with them during my first use until I discovered the importance of the fit. The Jabra Sport stayed in great, but it must have been leaking a lot of noise because for me the sound quality was not as good without the fit the Jaybird RUN offers. FIT: With the largest ear wings and the oval in ear attachments I am able to get a fit that not only does a good job blocking out sound (I find myself yelling to talk to people with them in sometimes it is so good), but the clarity, especially with the bass, really comes through when you get the proper seal. Play with the fit and follow the instructions of tilting your head back and opening your mouth as silly as it seems. I will say one downside is I do find myself adjusting them quite a bit to try to keep that seal, but that is me being picky. They are never at risk of falling out, and they still sound fine, but I strive to get them to the highest quality. Because of that sometimes the inner parts of my ear canal get a little irritated, but the wing piece around the outer ear even with the harder plastic never bothers me. SOUND: I think they are right on par with their price range ($150-250). I had the Bose Wired before and tried the wireless I mentioned and these had the best sound again with the right fit and seal in your ear. You need to go into the equalizer and find some of the presets stored within the app to get good sound. Out of the box is flat, but you notice a trend in the way the most liked equalizer settings are similarly set up when you add more than come standard in the app. FUNCTIONALITY: Like any wireless earphones, they set up pretty easily. I have read a lot of complaints about the left ear going out. This is because the phone connects to the right ear and the left ear then connects to that. Most people's complaints appear to be in super busy city intersections with a lot of wireless signals. At the gym if another person with wireless headphones walks really close to me I have seen them have only a second or so that it cuts out and finds itself again. A minor inconvenience at worst. Occasionally if you do lose connectivity and I find this happening so far only when I first take them out of the case to connect, you have to turn them off completely and back on. As far as the buttons on them, they are pretty useless. You can't adjust the volume so you really need your device on you for that and pressing them in your ears is a bit uncomfortable and challenging especially having to press 3 times quickly to go to the last track (2 presses goes next track, 1 pauses). There are only 2 options for coordinating the button function too which seems like it should be more customizable. I do not use the buttons at all and tend to keep my phone in a belt clip case for any of that. But I have always done that. I also do not use them for phone calls. PERFORMANCE: Again pretty on par sound with others in this price range, but other reviewers are correct in that these are really for running, metabolic exercise, and just listening to music. There is in fact a slight delay on videos and if you're like me that drives me nuts that the mouths don't match the words and I can't deal with it. I haven't had them very long but sweat doesn't seem to affect them (yet) as they are advertised as water resistant. Battery life seems good so far definitely living up to the 4-5 hours promised although I have not pushed them to that limit or worn them on an airplane where you may have the volume higher. Higher volume means lower battery life span. I typically work out for 60-90 minutes but may have them going for up to 2 hours and they seem to still be at a fairly high percentage for battery. They also seem to charge back pretty instantly, within a matter of minutes. I make sure I charge them each time just to make sure. CONCLUSION: The Jaybird RUN, after trying almost every other model in this price range, have by far the best fit for a wide range of people rather than just the most common type of ear (Looking at you AirPods). The seal they provide offers both a noise cancellation and sound enhancement feature when you get the right fit. They are fairly comfortable and look pretty sleek too compared to some other larger models (Bose you might as well wear the big over the ear headphones they are so big and stick out so far). If you are just looking for a more affordable, best for music and workouts, almost guaranteed to have some fit that works for you, I would definitely recommend these. Good luck!

During the initial use at home these ear buds worked excellent! Sound was amazing.....fit was excellent.....pairing was a breeze......then I took them to the gym. The interference I experienced while at the gym was so frustrating. The left and right ear buds continued to drop intermittently, sometimes both at the same time. My wife has the Jabra elite ear buds and I've used them many times and they never have any issues. She got me these because my bt ear buds crapped out on me. I was super excited after having used hers thinking I was getting a reliable, quality set of ear buds. Not the case. While the quality of construction is good, the reliability leaves a LOT to be desired. Taking them back today.

I'm listening to music while I write this because they are that comfortable. There is an app that goes with them that lets you set your levels the way you like it. On top of that they don't fall out easy at all. These are for runners, 100%. The only flaw, don't use them with video, the audio lag will drive you nuts. But if that's the only flaw, I'll take 5 ever day of the week.

Doesn’t feel chunky or heavy, blocks out sound pretty well in a noisy gym. No BT connection issues ever experienced. Volume control is dependant on the music device’s max setting so loudness is highly adjustable. Bass is booming, highs are great. The Jaybird app gives a nice selection of presets too.

The OK: I’ve used these for approx 2 months. They fit very well and stay in place regardless of activity. Sound is good. I use them to listen to audiobooks so I’m not the best judge of good/great/excellent sound quality. The not good: They randomly drop the BT connection, not often but it’s still annoying. They Rarely connect seamlessly like my Apple earbuds do. I have had to unpair and re-pair several times. The part I dislike the most is that battery life is about 1-1.5 hours before they have to go back in the case for a recharge. That’s fine for running but when I use them for riding and/or golf the battery life is annoying short. I would not recommend or buy another set.

I reluctantly bought these headphones after reading some bad reviews about them online. I had the JayBird X2's and loved them, but was looking to update to a true wireless headphone. I have to say after having these buds for about a month, I have yet to experience any major connection issues like many others claimed to have. The only time I experience any disruption is if I leave my phone and walk a ways away. The fit is awesome once you find the right combination of tips and fins. The noise isolation is great too, I use these all the time when I mow the lawn and I can always hear my music fine without cranking the volume to a dangerous level. I started off with the Apple Airpods but returned them because they let in far too much outside noise. I am very happy with the JB Runs. The reason these don't get 5 stars is because there is a lag between the output on the phone and the headphones. So if you try to watch movies with these, the sound will be 1-2 seconds behind the video.

I was skeptical at first since these were my first truly wireless earbuds but I am very impressed. Sound: Sound as good as over ear headphones. Crisp and clear with a good amount of bass. Completely adjustable in the app. Fit: There are so many tip and ear hook options included that you are bound to find a great fitment. Keep in mind that your left and right ears are not the same so try different options for both. Once I found the right ones for me the buds are so comfortable that I forget I'm wearing them and once I put them in my ears they stay put. Jaybird app: This app is fantastic! I didn't think the EQ settings would really make much of a difference on such a small earbud but I'm happy to say I was wrong. You are able to tweak the sound exactly how you would like it. Other things: Battery life is great and they recharge super fast in the included charging case. Everything is very well built as well. Doing some research uncovered that the connectivity issues people were experiencing at first were resolved with a simple firmware update. Mine came with the new firmware pre-installed and I have no issues at all with them staying connected to my phone and to each other, they actually have a very impressive range especially for how tiny they are.
