Unusable because of Constant Dropped Connections

They are the most comfortable of the couple I have tried and stay in the ear very well. But the earbuds are completely unusable. On my last 45 minute run they dropped connection probably 100 times. At least twice every minute the left one would cut out then the right one then they would come right back on. They did not drop for more than 2 seconds, but that happening constantly is a huge defect. I tried updating the firmware (something you should not have to do with an earbud to begin with) but my buds have the latest firmware already. There are many complaints out there about the dropped connectivity, so I guess I should have known better. Its really too bad as they were comfortable and stayed in my ear great. They will be going back to Best Buy this weekend.

Here are the Factory Reset instructions that might help resolve this problem:
To soft reset your earbuds:
-Place your right earbud into the charge case and close the lid.
-Open the charge case and remove your earbud.
To hard reset your earbuds:
-Turn off your right earbud by pressing the right multifunction button for 3 seconds.
-With your right earbud off, press and hold the right multifunction button for 6 seconds until the LED flashes green.
-Double press the right multifunction button. The LED will flash orange and the earbud will turn off. Your earbud has now been reset.
-When you hard reset your earbuds, you will lose any saved presets and any saved devices on the paired list. You’ll need to forget Jaybird RUN in your phone's Bluetooth device list, repair your earbuds to your Bluetooth device, See How do I pair my Jaybird RUN earbuds? and reselect your favorite preset from the Jaybird app.

Poor connection between buds

Some times I loose the connection for a couple of seconds. I have a S9 plus and the bluetooth range in the phone is pretty good. I am sad, I really like, I hope in the future generation the company fixes that issue. I will return mine today.

Amazing sound

Doesn't work

I knew that these already were had the reputation of spotty bluetooth connectivity, but my left bud won't pair at all. The way these work is that the right ear bud is the "main bud" that pairs to both the device and the left ear bud. My right ear bud worked fine. It connected fine. The left will not connect to the right at all. It will just keep saying "turn on the other ear bud." In addition, their app could not find the left ear bud as well. I updated the firmware. No luck. I tried resetting both ear buds multiple times. No luck. I reset the connection to my phone. No luck. I tried connecting to other devices. No luck. Nothing fixed this. On top of this, the customer service has not been responsive at all. I had heard good things about their other products but these don't live up to their reputation. Spend your money elsewhere. It just isn't worth the hassle.

Great Looking & Fun!

I am tech challenged most of the time and I was able to get them set up and use them almost immediately. I had some trouble with getting them in my ears correctly but I think I have it all set now. Its a bit to get used to because Ive never had wireless headphones before. They have great range too. I love the freedom they offer. They dont slide around and I think they are going to be great on long trips!

Nice ear buds...

The Bluetooth connectivity hasn’t given me any problems at all, no matter where I run, when I run, or how long I run. The only problem I have is the fit. At times the buds want to slip out, and I have to push them back in. This happens a little more often than I would like. And yes, I’ve tried all the different wings and things that come with them. I’ll continue to use them because they are really nice, but the fit is the only reason I didn’t give them 5 stars.

Returned - Almost Useless

Truly wireless shouldn't mean skips, disconnects and drops with implicit instructions to never put your phone or media source on the left side of your body. I've owned several Jaybird products and have had no complaints, but didn't think they would beta test their product and software with retail consumers...

Thank you for your review however it is disappointing to hear you had to return the RUN due to connection issues. With the latest Update released it should of really improved your overall connection. However it is recommended to keep the device on the right side of the body since that is were the master bud is located since so many things can effect bluetooth connection to keep the features and premium sound of RUN that is our best connection recommendations. The fit is a bit finicky and once you get them they do stay in but the outside noise penetrates a lot more than my other Jbirds. I have had several pairs prior to the Logitech purchase and I feel they have ran this company into the ground. I have tried to contact customer service and apparently they laid all of them off when Logitech took over. Cause they don't exist.

Great sound easy to tune music to your preference

Excellent headphones

It came down to the Bose and the Jaybird, the decision basically came down to a $20 difference and the fact I had 15 days to return them. So far I had them for a week & they have performed very well & would highly recommended them to anyone.

Price is reasonable and worth it for what I need it for. How ever...there is a poor reception / connection. Even if I have my device close in running or walking it cuts off what ever I'm hearing. Although disappointing for this reason, I like everything else about it.

Don’t i repeat DONT!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.2 stars because when watching YouTube it has a very nasty audio delay which makes watching it unbearable and I end up putting it back on speaker. Totally not worth the price even on sale. Reason two is because when watching movies it does the same thing. These buds are not defective it’s just the way that they are made since one bud pairs to phone and other bud pairs to first bud. So it can’t keep up with the audio playback. Good thing I came across this issue before the return policy ended because I am returning ASAP. Going to get the AirPods which were my last resort cuz the way they look but I guess I will have to sacrifice. If you plan on only running these buds with pandora or music app they work great but don’t expect any more than that like I said not worth it and the company is fully aware of this issue look it up for yourself. Type in Jaybird run YouTube delay and you will read what I’m talking about.

Wanted great earbuds & 2 device pairing, BUT...

When listening to music i wanted the earbuds to switch to my phone for calls and resume to my iPod. Early reviews indicated the ability to pair to two devices, but these were unable to. Great for one or the other, but not both.

Connectivity

I purchased them last night, even after all the reviews of issues; I also own a pair of X3's by Jaybird. I updated the firmware, both the left and the right were updated. Placed them on the charger and the following morning I decided to take them on a walk, not even a run. The left ear bud lost connection 16 times while connected to my Series 3 Apple Watch for a simple 2 miles. I then just connected them to my iPhone 7 and sat down to listen to music, the left ear bud constantly cuts out, and not even while in motion. I am running the latest iOS with both devices. I then took it a step further and connected to a Windows Surface Book Pro and a MacBook Air, same drop out issues on the left ear bud. I would not recommend anyone buying these if they want constant sound from both ear buds.

We are very sorry you have still been experiencing connection issues, the update should of helped solidify the connection does not seem like this is the case, pretty sure we can help fix these up. Double check the firmware update and try this reset - https://www.jaybirdsport.com/en-us/updates.html
To hard reset - Do left and right ear bud resets* (same reset for both sides)
1. Turn off your Left earbud by pressing the Left multifunction button for 3-5 seconds or till you hear “Power Off”
2. With your right earbud off, press and hold the Left multifunction button for 6 seconds until the LED flashes green.
3. Double press the left multifunction button. The LED will flash orange and the earbud will turn off. Your earbud has now been reset. -
When you hard reset your earbuds, you will lose any saved presets and any saved devices on the paired list. Make sure to go to your bluetooth menu and delete the old device profile then you will need to power the buds back on and put them in pairing mode by again holding the Left/Right side button until the LED starts flashing GREEN. Then, go into your Bluetooth menu and select the buds under BLUETOOTH DEVICES.
