    Better than the AirPods

Apple’s AirPods created a new definition of what wireless earbuds mean. Like with every other Apple invention, other tech companies started coming up with their version of genuinely wireless earbuds to try and compete with Apple. One standout competitor to the Apple AirPods are the Jaybird Runs. I think the Jaybird Runs are better than the Apple AirPods because they provide better sound quality and they allow the customer to customize them to their liking. From the name you can tell these earbuds are for athletes, specifically runners. Athletes train for long periods of time and the last thing they want to be bothered with is uncomfortable plastic earbuds like the ones they give you free on airplanes. The Jaybird Runs feature soft plastic earbud tips rather than the hard-plastic tips such as the ones found on the Apple AirPods. The Jaybirds Run’s soft plastic tip create an extremely comfortable fit, and many times I forget that I am even wearing them. The Jaybird Runs earbud tips seal off the rest of the ear, which gives the user a surround sound experience that the apple AirPods cannot. Another aspect of the Jaybird Runs that I appreciate is the customer's ability to customize them to their liking. The Jaybirds Runs come with three pairs of earbud tips, and three pairs of earbud fins, so the consumer can always find the best fit for their ear shape. This makes it so when you are active the earbuds do not fall out of your ears. In comparison the Apple AirPods feature a one size fits all approach, and this can be very inconvenient due to the fact most people have different shaped ears. Another customizable feature the Jaybird Runs provide is to change the range of the high, mids, and lows. This feature is precious because different types of music sound better on different presets. The Jaybird app also has custom presets made explicitly for each type of music and for the length in which you plan on using them. As someone who mainly listens to hip hop music with rich bass for long periods of time, this feature is perfect for me. The Apple AirPods do not have any of these features. AirPod users are forced to use the same audio setting for all types of music The AirPods are better than the Jaybirds when it comes to connectivity. AirPods still play music even when the connected device is more than 100 feet while the Jaybirds struggle with connectivity if the device is 50 feet away. Also, the AirPods have better battery life, they last a total of 24 hours while the Jaybirds last about twelve, but I feel twelve hours is long enough for an entire day of use. AirPods offer sleeker and more relaxed look while the Jaybirds are slightly clunky. Furthermore, the AirPods are more attractive due to compatibility with iPhone, but besides more commands from Siri, the AirPods do not do anything the Jaybirds do not do. Lastly, the Jaybirds Run’s market price is $179.99; Apples AirPods market price is $159.99. I feel that price is a valid concern for consumers, but you pay for what you get; the Jaybirds offer more features than the AirPods. Wireless earbuds are a new trend, and all the current models do have room for improvement. The Jaybird Runs make up for most of the things that need to be improved on by implementing so many customizable features as mentioned previously. This allows the customer to make the earbuds work for them instead of making the customer work for the earbuds. Apple products always get the spotlight just because they are trendy, even though they do not put out the best products. The Jaybird marketing team may be to blame for their lack of popularity, these earbuds definitely deserve more attention than they currently receive.

Based on the reviews that I read I was really optimistic that this product would provide for great listening experience and be very comfortable. Unfortunately my experience was poor sound quality and uncomfortable earbuds. I ultimately returned this product

Very disappointed with these buds. The base did not come through properly and felt like it was never as loud as it should be. If they were under $100 a pair I would say get it, but if it’s over hard pass.

The sound that is put out by the earbuds is not of very good quality. They do stay in the ea2 pretty well when walking around or on the subway but they can slip out when running or working out.

I was very happy with the performance of these wireless earphones but ultimately had to return them for poor fit. I tried every combination of ear piece and support but could not find a combination that would hold them in place when running.
