so far these are my favorite ear buds that I have tried and have that are wireless. I love that they come with 2 cases, one is a hard case that holds the ear buds themselves in. and then another soft case/bag that holds the charging cord and extra tips in. the hard case charges the ear buds when you place them inside and close the lid. what is great is that its also a portable charger so the buds last about 4 hours, and you get 8 hours of charging with the case as well. so you get 12 hours total and it does not take long to charge either. the ear buds are comfortable and fit well. My left ear has a lump and most ear buds I cant use because they wont fit or stay in. had no issues with these. however on that note, I do wish they did have a cord between them just in case one does fall out if walking or jogging. having a cord at least keeps it close by. but have not had that issue with walking yet. the noise is not the best but not the worst. its still pretty high up there. and loud enough to be able to drown out most sounds from around. again so far I prefer these over the many other ear buds I have tried out. my wife says the same thing too. and again I do like that not only did it come with a case for the ear buds, but it also acts as a portable charger as well.

Intermittent connection on two different phones. Both ear buds fall out with any activity. Right earpiece would fall off every time I pulled the ear bud out. Short battery life.

So first off, these in ear headphones, and a really nice box. When you open it, there's a little pod that contains the headphones and is also a charging dock.It also comes with a short USB cable, but no 110 adapter. That shouldn't be a big deal to most people, because if you're like me you got these things lying everywhere. Think I used one from my Samsung Nook and the cable from an Under Armour device to charge the unit. Of course there really aren't any instructions, just three illustrations and you're on your way. So to be honest, I was going to rate these a one star. I placed them both in my ears, started an audiobook and put my Pixel in my left pocket. As I walked to the mailbox and back, the Bluetooth connecting the left headphone cut out three or four times and the right one once or twice. I was ready for this as I read a review and the reviewer stated he had the same issue. When I returned home I looked at the box for any other instruction and tada there it was... an added note. It stated although Bluetooth connections are good for some distance, it was best to place the device is close to the right headphone as possible. So this took a little adjustment for me. I typically keep my phone in my left pocket and my keys in my right. I looked at getting an armband and I still may do so, but I switched pockets and the connection problem disappeared. I'm not a tall guy, 5 foot eight if I'm lucky, but the change in pockets was all I needed. I still don't get it because the distance doesn't seem that much difference, but if it works and I can use these on the treadmill at the gym, I'm golden.

Fell in love with Jaybirds Freedoms then the X3. Took a leap with getting truely wireless headphones from them a day after they were realeased. Im satisfied with the price compared to their competitors around them as well as not being disapointed with the quality of sound coming from the both of them. Only problem i have is that the right headphone connects just fine but the left side gives me problems trying to connect and stay connected if you put your phone just a few feet away, lets say your front pocket. Other than that they are comfortable and they DO stay in your ears while running and drenching in sweat! Worth the buy but if you're intimidated from this review then get the X3! 5 stars if they fix the connection issue ive had.

I love that I can put these in at the gym and not hear anybody around me. I love the sound, they actually fit in my ear and don't fall out when I sweat, they are great for outside runs. My cons are just like the others mentioned. The bluetooth cuts in and out when I'm running. The instructions do warn you and state you should keep your phone on your right arm or pocket. It cuts out less but it still happened. Before this the left ear cut out and I had to reset it twice before it connected. Not fun to fidget around with headphones when you are running. One other concern is there is a little distortion or crackling with certain music that l listen to from mid to high volume. I think they are still great though compared to what I've had. The fact that sound doesn't escape, good bass, and they stay in my ears for running outweigh everything else. I will try the armband on my right side and hopefully that will help.

      Hi Rouse1953,

We're sorry to hear that your Jaybird Run's left bud does not work and we'd like to help. Just send us an email at [email protected] and we will get you taken care of.

Here are the Factory Reset instructions that might help resolve this problem for future reference:

      To soft reset your earbuds:

-Place your right earbud into the charge case and close the lid.
-Open the charge case and remove your earbud.

      To hard reset your earbuds:

-Turn off your right earbud by pressing the right multifunction button for 3 seconds.
-With your right earbud off, press and hold the right multifunction button for 6 seconds until the LED flashes green.
-Double press the right multifunction button. The LED will flash orange and the earbud will turn off. Your earbud has now been reset.
-When you hard reset your earbuds, you will lose any saved presets and any saved devices on the paired list. You’ll need to forget Jaybird RUN in your phone's Bluetooth device list, repair your earbuds to your Bluetooth device, See How do I pair my Jaybird RUN earbuds? and reselect your favorite preset from the Jaybird app.

I am not a jogger but did try these out while going for a walk and doing chores around the house. During the walk the Jaybird - RUN Headphones pretty much stayed in place. A couple of times I had to adjust them because they felt like they might slip out of my ears. While using them around the house I constantly had to adjust them to keep from falling out. They really don't stay in place when doing things like bending over to pick up piles of leaves, or shoveling dirt. It's the movements that seem to jolt your body that dislodge the headphones form your ears. That makes me wonder how well they would do while on a trail run. Uneven ground and jumping over debris like roots and branches may unseat the headphones. i did give it a 4 star because the sound is amazing. I downloaded the jaybird app and was able to change the sound levels to my liking. very cool. One feature I really liked but also disliked was the ability to change a song but double clicking the right earbud. But the button is not so easy to push and several times i found that pushing the button twice pushed the earbud into my ear further to the point of discomfort and i had to pull the earbud out and reset it in my ear. A tap button would have been much butter instead of having to push a click button hard. overall they are good headphones and I will use them often.

The good is that ear fit wise it is comfortable. I can wear it without fear of it falling out (usually I have a hard time with these type of earbuds). Connecting it with the phone is easy and I like that it automatically connects to the phone when you open the case. The case can recharge the ear buds. The sound quality if excellent on par with X3 which I own also. The low profile is also nice unlike others out there that looks like you have a huge knob sticking out of your ears *Bose*. Battery life seems good with my usage at the gym. I read a lot of people complaining about issue syncing between the two buds. I went to Jaybird's website to update the firm wear so everything is up to date. That said I still had problems with the syncing between the two. during workouts depending on how you move (crossfit, boxing) it would constantly lose connection which was really annoying. I guess if you are just running but activities which require you to move around...I mean even doing regular sit-ups on the incline bench the darn things would cut out (I leave the phone on the ground near the bench). Not sure why the connection so bad but that said some people don't seem to be affected by it. Secondly, the sound volume. Even at the max setting it is extremely low. Now I don't blast music into my ear canal until I'm deaf but I put it up at a reasonable level to listen to music and drown out some ambient noise. I mean it was low enough were I could still hear my heavy breathing. For now, I can't recommend these for really active people. I guess people who just only run sure. Maybe Jaybird will issue another firm wear update that will make it better which is a shame because I really do like the fit and finish of these buds.

Pairing these types of ear buds can be hard, and they can drop connection a lot. I've not had an issue with these yet, but I'm still getting used to having them not linked by a wire. All in all, in pleased with the sound quality, and I'm still trying battery life. Box says 4 hours or so, so I'm hoping for 3. Good build quality, and they just look cool.

Good Sound, Bad connection until updating firmware

The Jaybird RUN wireless earbuds are really nice, they fit very well and sound really good. The only issue is, when I first got them, they had very bad connection issues, to the point where I was considering returning them. However, after running the v1.1.0 firmware update, the connection is much better, and the problem no longer persists. These are very solid earbuds AFTER you install the firmware, however before they can be very annoying and cumbersome to deal with. Overall, after installing the update, a good buy.

If you've been waiting for the pure wireless headphone field to mature before jumping in, the time is now. These are very comfortable and sound very good. The only complaint I have is that when you're on a phone call, the sound only plays in the right ear. For music, the sound is better than any of my other earbuds, and I have wireless bluetooth jaybirds, jbl and bose. The highs can get a little muddy compared to my Bose QC35's, but those are over-ear cans, not earbuds. I have not experienced connection issues as others have reported, and the volume is definitely not a problem. Since the volume is so loud, and the connection so stable and reliable, I have to assume that the reviewers reporting problems simply have duds or somehow got pre-production versions.

These are the new standard for wireless headphones It took Jaybird a while to reach the market, but when they did, they rock Bluetooth pairing took seconds. Out of the box, they were charged and immediately requested pairing. My iPhone instantly recognized them, and I was done Sound quality is top notch, and the bass response exceeds many other brands So why the "4" stars? The ear tips are the usual flimsy silicone ones. Jaybird used to hand out Comply Foam tips, and I highly recommend the upgrade Also the ear wings are really soft and pliable. While they are more comfortable while running long distances, you will find yourself sticking your finger in your ear to make sure that they are not coming loose. Mine have yet to come loose, but you don't get that real secure feeling that they are locked in like other brands. I can say that my ears appreciate the break and I don't end up the day with creases in my ear The charging case is sufficient. Small enough to fit in your pocket, and very light weight. It also does feel kinda flimsy, but I will wait to see how it lasts in the long run Overall, these are the new benchmark (with replaced tips) and well worth the wait from Jaybird
