    Won’t stay in while running

I really wanted to love these earbuds. They sound fantastic. But, not matter what I try, they don’t stay in while running. I even tried to find an aftermarket ear hook so I can run in a 15K without worrying about losing one or both along the run, but no luck there either. I wish I could return them, but it’s too late.

I have these headphones a solid 6 months and I really wanted to like them, but I can’t stand them. The music constantly goes in and out, the volume changes, and the music bounces from ear to ear. Pretty everything you do not want to happen, happens. They turn every song I listen to into a remix.

      Hello BobG,

Thanks for your feedback. We are constantly trying make our products better and appreciate what you have to say.

Please observe the buds to further isolate the issue, you can connect the buds to a different device or a device with a different OS. Resets are also recommended, I included both methods:

To soft reset your right earbud:

-Place your right earbud into the charge case and close the lid.
-Open the charge case and remove your earbud.

To hard reset your right earbud:

-Turn off your right earbud by pressing the right multifunction button for 3 seconds.
-With your right earbud off, press and hold the right multifunction button for 6 seconds until the LED flashes green.
-Double press the right multifunction button. The LED will flash orange and the earbud will turn off. Your earbud has now been reset.
-When you hard reset your earbuds, you will lose any saved presets and any saved devices on the paired list. You’ll need to forget Jaybird RUN in your phone's Bluetooth device list, repair your earbuds to your Bluetooth device, See How do I pair my Jaybird RUN earbuds? and reselect your favorite preset from the Jaybird app.

You can also try re-establishing connection between the left and right earbud using the steps found on this link:

      https://www.jaybirdsport.com/en-us/run-faq.html#leftbud

I had these earbuds up and running within 60 seconds of opening the box. They come with (or at least mine had) about a 20% charge. Pairing them to my smartphone took no time at all, and I was listening to music. They come with several sizes of adapter for both the part that fits into your ear and the part that fits into the curve of your ear above the ear canal, and I had no trouble getting them set up for my ears. I was impressed, actually, with how snugly and securely they fit and stayed in my ears, yet how little I actually felt their presence other than, of course, that music was coming through them. Jaybird does have several videos on their website showing how to set them up and use them, and you can download a Jaybird app to give you more control over their features, access to playlists, and that sort of thing, but I was listening to Youtube and SiriusXM audio through my phone before I installed the app, and the phone's volume control was all I needed to get the music sounding good. I do like the charging system for these. They fit into a case, and the case is connected by USB to charge them. A five minute charge gives one hour of listening, and a full charge gives eight. Another feature of the charger is that IT charges at the same time the buds do so when you're away from something to plug the charger into, you can just put the buds into the case, and the case will charge them enough for another four hours of listening. Really very handy. These are targeted at the athletic crowd (joggers), and they will certainly work find for this audience, but really anyone looking for light, unobtrusive, comfortable, and long-charge life headphones or earbuds will find these useful. They even have a feature that lets you channel the music through one bud so you can keep the other bud off your ear in case you need to have one ear to the "real world" while listening to music. Highly recommended.

These sound great and fit me great. I have tried so many kinds of earbuds over the years and have yet to find a pair that fit comfortably until now. Even the professional in ear monitors were uncomfortable. Perhaps I have an odd ear or ear canal because earbuds just never fit me well, I'm always adjusting them, they hurt, they don't seal well... These, using the tips and fins that were installed, fit perfectly and are comfortable. The soft tips, instead of fitting in my ear canal, fill the opening outside the ear canal and perfectly seal to reduce outside noises. I have worn these for close to three hours with no discomfort whatsoever. These have a great full range response with much fuller bass than I expected from a bud. The app has several EQ (customizable) presets which makes it easy to adapt to different music styles, there are also tons of downloadable preset EQs. I've had quite a few earbuds that just aren't loud enough at my phones max volume (OK, I know the phone makers limit the volume to avoid lawsuits) but these do fine, I have never maxed out the phone volume. I love these and have not one complaint!

Nearly perfect wireless earbuds with serious flaw

I really wanted to like and use these truly wireless bluetooth ear buds, but unfortunately in my use case there is a fatal flaw. First the good. These JayBird RunXT in ear headphones are well made, convenient and comfortable to wear. In fact, I've probably never had a pair of bluetooth ear buds that sat in my ears as nicely and comfortably as these. I have no fear at all that the ear buds will drop out or come loose and I barely notice that they are there. The sound quality is excellent. Bluetooth pairing was fast and easy and the connection was very strong with no drop outs. The ear buds come with a super convenient charging case. All you have to do is literally drop the earbuds into the case and they charge up. The case also acts as a battery to recharge the ear buds. Now the fatal flaw (for me). I like to run on a treadmill and use a laptop in front of me to stream videos while running. The ear buds connect to the computer just fine, but there is a nearly 2 second latency delay between the video and audio, making it super annoying to watch a video while running. I have used other bluetooth headphones and there is no latency delay for video. I reached out to JayBird support and received a very quick response, but it wasn't what I wanted to hear. They basically said that in order to create a strong bluetooth signal that wouldn't drop out while under vigorous exercise they needed to accept a certain latency in the connection. Fair enough, but that means these ear buds aren't suitable for my use case. If you are using these ear buds with a phone or device for audio only then these ear buds would be fantastic. I really like them. Unfortunately they won't work for my most common use case.

trying these Jaybird - RUN XT Sport right out of the box was not a good fit for me. Luckily they come with several choices of ear cones and fins that can be changed to fit your ears. I have tried several combinations of cone and fin and cannot find the perfect fit. The cones either fit to tight where my ears feel like they are going to pop or to loose where they feel like they will fall out of my ear. I am currently using the #1 cone with the #3 fins and even though they haven't fallen out while walking and exercising I constantly find myself pushing on them because they feel loose like they could fall out. Maybe I have strange ear sizes but I will continue to adjust til I find the perfect fit. Sound quality is what you all want to know about so i will say the Jaybird - RUN XT Sport puts out great sound. I listen to music from country to rap and they all sound amazing. Music with deep bass comes through clear and deep and lower bass more vocal music also comes through neat and clean with these earbuds. There is an app which allows you to change settings for different sounds and music but I found the levels right out of the box were set just fine with me. These are very easy to charge with the including carry case/ charging station. They advertise a charge lasting up to 4 hours but I have not come close to wearing these earbuds that long and have never used up all the battery life. the other nice ting is the carry case holds a charge so if you are out with no place to charge your buds , just inserting the buds into the case will charge them a couple of times before the case runs out of life. The control buttons are a little hard to use. You must push the buttons on the outside of the buds to answer calls, change the volume, skip songs, and pause music. its not a soft touch button either and must be pushed with a little force. So for me who has a hard time with fit I hate changing music or answering calls because the buds get pushed more into my ear and I have to readjust every time after pushing a button. When out for a walk I just let my playlist play and dont answer calls to avoid any movement after I get it in a position I like and it feels comfortable. These may just take more time to get used to because my last wireless buds had a wire that went behind my neck which gave me a little security that if the a bud fell out of my ear it wouldn't hit the floor and possible break. I am going to have to learn to trust the fit and stop fidgeting with them.
