Awesome! But get some Comply foam tips

So... Despite the pretty mediocre reviews on the XTs, I decided to take the plunge and get them. I'm very glad I did. They are true wireless, so the left bud does cut out, but not too often. Only when I'm really messing with them will it cut out, and as soon as I move my hands out of the way, the left bud picks back up audio. I work out in these daily, running and weights, and they are incredible. They don't budge(once you have good fitting tips, more on that below) at all, regardless of the amount of jarring or movement. Plus they are VERY sleek and you can barely see them when you're wearing them. 3 Things worth mentioning: 1) I don't mind paying this price point for quality buds. SURE, you can absolutely go get different buds for cheaper, that will probably do just fine. However, these checked ALL my boxes. Durability, fit, finish, look, performance, and SOUND. So I'm bias in regards to "is it worth the price," when purchasing $100+ headphones. 2) Video lag. I have only tried YouTube and Hulu so far. YouTube had a noticeable delay in audio. However, after ~30 shows watched on Hulu, the sound is SPOT ON there. No delay whatsoever. I still need to test out Amazon and Netflix. 3) The sound was VERY flat and complete garbage when I first got them. Even adjusting the EQ in the app did nothing. I tried all the tips and fin combos I could, and nothing helped. However, I would find myself pushing/moving my earbuds at certain angles in my ears while I was at the gym, and the buds would COME ALIVE when seated in my ears better. Like, OVER EAR headphones quality would start to kick out of these things. I decided to get a 3 pack of Comply foam tips for the Jaybird X4s, since there aren't any made yet specifically for the XTs. They fit PERFECT on the XTs and literally transformed them into INCREDIBLE audio quality buds. The bass is SO rich and deep, and the mids clash through no problem. They are seated in my ear WAY better now, and very comfortable. The flatness of them out of the box was almost a deal breaker and almost got these returned. Maybe it's my ears, maybe it's those TRASH silicone tips. Either way, these buds are 150% worth it, when paired with some better fitting/acoustic tips!

These Jaybird headphones are great. Excellent sound. They fit so well. Definietly an improvement from the first series. I love how durable they are. I worked up a good sweat and these just kept playing with no issues. Definietly a great pair of headphones for an active lifestyle.

Cons: Right out of the box, the left and right were not synced together. I attempted to troubleshoot this problem using their manuals, however they did not state how to remedy. After searching the internet for the problem, I found out that it was a problem they have had for over a year, but I also found the fix. I did E-mail tech support, but they did not get back to me until a day later. When using the App, the earbuds actually crashed and I had to forget them and re-pair them with my phone. Pros: They are very loud, the sound is very crisp. The battery life is great as well. The app lets you customize the equalizer and it has other presets from other users as well.

    High Marks for Work Outs

This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.

I have my favorite pair/brand already but wanted to give this style and brand a shot. I can recommend them, but I definitely prefer for normal use/light workout use the clip style. However, some intense push up, sit up, running, obstacle course.I can see these being the ticket. The Quick I can recommend with some drawbacks as I have seen better implementation of button presses (physical button, pushes further into ear) and mapping; keep the phone close by! Minus 1 Star. Ample "ear tips" and "fins" to get the best fit for each ear, but my experience I could not achieve that fit. Won't be able to use for more than 1 hour. Could change with extended use, but not sure I wan't to push it. Phone Calls are right ear only, downside uneven battery use a 15 minute phone call dropped the right battery 6% more. No included charger. Minus 1 Star JayBird app is nice and very informative, well laid out. Better Start Guide than the printed version in the box; makes sense. Fit Could not find a comfortable fit, the smallest Fin #1 won't hold the bud in my ear. Fin #2 too thick. I found I must have the "fin" to put enough pressure in the ear. Did use #1Bud tip though. Comes with 4 different Bud Tip sizes and 4 different Fin sizes. You definitely have options to get the fit you need...if any work though. It is nice not having anything over my ear. Won't worry about the 4 hour time limit as I won't be able to wear these for long; 1 hour will be the limit. This is obviously based on my ears, yours may be different. Buttons Not soft-touch, physical button that clicks, very stiff, pushes the bud further in the ear. Can "remap" buttons to available presets. Choice for Left: Option 1 Single Tap Google/Siri Launch Option 2 Single Tap Vol -, Double Tap Skip Track Choice for Right: Option 1 Single Tap Play/Pause, Double Tap Accept/End Call Option 2 Single Tap Vol +, Double Tap Accent/End Call and Skip Track Find its about a 2 second delay to vol+/- change, so click slow. Sound Quality Cannot complain here, not much bass, but if I wanted some serious headphones with that sound, I'm not buying tiny ear buds. These are definitely for work outs. I can recommend all day long for that. If your not really caring about that as much, would recommend the clip style/over the ear for longer use, longer run-time...typically. I only have one recommendation for that style and its name is a combination of plane and electronics. Phone Call Quality Phone calls right ear only. Sound quality is good, the quality on the other end sounds fine. Headset disconnected though when call came in; music was playing at the time of call. Call Incoming sound did not play through buds. Used phone to answer call, headphones reconnected. Miscellaneous Bud storage is proper, right is right, left is left. Pill charger case is small, can easily fit in a pocket, gym shorts if needed. It is not rated for any splash/sweat/dust proofing. Charging is done through the base; 5 minutes = 1 hour of audio use according to App Guide, 4 hours of use from the buds, 2 full charges from the base giving a total run-time of 12 hours, with 1 hour charge time each time for the buds. Not sure how long or what size the battery is in the charger case I always deduct a star for any device requiring charging that does not ship with a charger. And I contemplate another star if they do not give specifications for charging. You cannot just use any charger, nor can you just leave something plugged in for hours. Pretty pathetic if you have to legislate to force companies to disclose at the very least a maximum charging time limit. Sure any charger will work, but there are parameters for charging properly. My guess is that since the charging cable is 12 inches tip to tip it is meant to be charged off of a laptop USB, so your typically talking 500mAh. I don't know if that is the limit because they don't disclose that info. Looking on the charging base Input says 5V/1Amp. This may seem pedantic, but you will get the blame when you charge "incorrectly" and the company doesn't want to offer a claim for destroying your property. I would think with the issues we have seen with smartphones of late, this would be taken more seriously? I do notice a signal drop from one side to the next for a split second when playing music. Right ear bud would be Master and left bud the slave. This cannot be changed, honestly didn't event test if the left would work independently as it doesn't matter if I only get half the use and will be tethered to the phone for any other changes. If you are going to keep the phone handy or on an arm band that may not be an issue for you. In the paper warning guide, it was the first time I have seen a chart detailing recommended usage times based of sound level, 90db = 8 hours, 95db = 4 hours, 100db = 2 hours, 105db = 1 hour, at 115db hearing damage occurs. I have no issue recommending these even with the downsides I have found. This category of product continues to evolve and they are getting better. It is industry standard to not include a charger, this makes my 5th set of wireless ear buds and none have come with a charger (same goes with portable bluetooth speakers). That's my $0.02, not good at inflation rates, so its definitely worth less than that. If helps great, if it doesn't ask me a question and I'll try to answer it.

    Sadly disappointed

I want to start off by saying that I was truly excited for these headphones. Whether I’m working out, listening to audiobooks/music or talking on the phone, I always seem to have some sort of headphone on. I have at least 5 pairs of wired and wireless headphones on me at all time, depending on what I am using them for. These Jaybirds looked very sleek out of the package; there is a total of 4 ear buds and 4 fins for personalized fit, as well as the charging case. Two things I noticed out of the box though, was there was no charging cable for the case, where the earbud charge from. Also, the box made it appear that there was a “nice” fabric Jaybird bag to keep all the different ear buds and fins that came with them. This was not the case; they just come in a simple, plastic bag with the Jaybird logo on it. This isn’t a huge deal, but it did make me go through the packaging to make sure I hadn’t missed something. The Fit - I will just start off with saying that I have always prefered an in-ear bud for headphones, due to the fact that my ears are smaller and I don’t like the feel of the over the ear headphones. So I was pretty hopeful when I saw that these Jaybirds came with some many different sizes. Sadly, I was disappointed - I tried the smallest earbuds and fins and still wasn’t able to get a comfortable fit with them. In fact, my fit was so bad that they kept falling out and were pretty much unusable. And it’s not like I was doing a hardcore workout - I was listening to an audiobook while walking around my kitchen cooking. But I have small ears, so I just chalked it up to bad luck for me. The sound quality - The sound quality is amazing and is very customizable through their app depending on what you’re listening to, which is a great feature to have… when it works. Maybe again, it’s just my bad luck, but I had a terrible time with the sound on these. First, my left earbud kept cutting out. I thought it was a bluetooth issue, so I turned the earbuds off and tried repairing them. Once I had “resolved” my issue, I went about trying to test them out. Again, I ran into my left earbud distorting the sound or cutting out completely. This issue in turn led to a battery issue, where my right earbud always had a lower battery than the right. Conclusion - As I said at the beginning, I was very excited to get these earbuds and for the cost of them, expected the world of them. Unfortunately, I was left extremely disappointed by the sound quality of these and the inability to get them to fit my ears. Maybe it’s just bad luck for me, but I would not recommend them. If you need me, I’ll be rocking my $10 headphones.

Great fit, Amazing App Functionality, Good Sound

I want to start this review by saying that when i initially opened the earbuds I was a little worried that these earbuds would be uncomfortable to wear , especially for long periods of time. They look a little big, bulky and personally I've never been a fan of earbuds with "hooks" of any sort. Well, turns out these are pretty light, the hooks i was worried about are actually soft and help in guiding and keeping the ear bud in its place. The standard default set fit perfectly into my adult sized ears. The pairing process is super easy and they connect to your phone right away after you pair them for the first time. I wish they would pause and or stop when you pull them out of your ears but the right ear bud does have a pause function when you press it . a good solution. I did love that they turn off and on when you put them back into their case. The charging / status lights on the outside of the case are also a big plus. You can easily see if your earbuds are charging properly and if the case has battery charge. The case is a nice and small and locks shut when you close it. you need to press a button to "unlock" and open the case, a nice feature to have, so if you happen to drop your charge case, the earbuds are less likely to fall out. The earbuds seat nicely , very easily and firmly into the case, i hardly fumbled in setting them to charge and matching the charging contacts. I do want to mention that for some reason a 6 foot micro usb charge cable that i use for all my other devices did not work in charging this case. I had to resort to the very short cable that you are provided with. Not a very big deal, perhaps my cable was bad. I will try with another cable when I get a longer one. I highly recommend that you download the jaybird app before you pair your earbuds to your phone. I went ahead and paired my earbuds to my iPhone before i downloaded the app, and for some strange reason when i launched the app after already listening to music with them they glitched "Froze" so to speak. The right earbud started squealing with a very high pitch and i had to do a hard reset on the earbuds. I haven't had the issue since After resetting them and pairing with the app preinstalled and loaded. The app itself is pretty amazing! There is a plethora of custom presets to toggle and enjoy. There is an endless selection created by a community of people. Even youtube influencers and athletes share their presets with the app. so cool! You can of course also create your own custom presets, along with names and pictures to make finding your own custom presets even easier. This was by far my favorite feature of the app and these earbuds. I spent a lot of time trying different presets lol, and found one I love! The app also lets you change the function of the button presses on the earbuds from play pause, to siri or volume up and down. I wore them in the sauna for 10 minutes before my two hour workout in the gym and the earbuds never over heated and my sweat dripping was never as issue. After two hours with them on my ears didn't feel too fatigued or "hurt" by the fit and hooks. I thought about keeping them on in the shower for waterproof testing but I didn't, the box says they are waterproof but I love these earbuds too much to take that risk. I imagine a run or walk in the rain would be fine while having these on. Sound quality out of the box in my opinion is not the greatest BUT the endless EQ customization and Presets will most definitely help you find a setting that is pleasing to your ears. I wish I could comment on long term reliability , but my these impressed me quite a bit in my first 72 hours of use. My biggest complaint and its almost a dealbreaker for me is the call audio quality. For some reason phone call audio sounds very weak, tinny, and shallow. I honestly don't want to or care to use these while making phone calls. If you are looking for a set of earbuds to use to talk on the phone with, I don't recommend these. I'd recommend these to anyone who strictly wants a set of wireless earbuds for music listening at the gym or other outdoor activities. Pros; Jaybird App is Awesome for customizing EQ and Functions Comfortable to wear while being a secure tight fit Sweat and Waterproof Charge / Stow Case is small, smart and easy to use Cons; Call audio quality is bad, and phone calls only work with the Right Ear Bud.

      Hi Ponskippa,

Thank you for the in-depth review!

The call audio is limited to the right earbud. When you accept a phone call, the left earbud will allow ambient sound in to assist with better hearing your own voice. This avoids the need to take the left earbud out during phone calls. We will take your feedback about the right earbud for calls to the development team.

    True Wireless = True Dope

Smokes my basis for comparison! And, I have owned a bevy of the competitors. Everything about this set of earbuds is major top shelf: The packaging is tight, light, handsome and rugged. (Oops! smacks of optimal specs for a good date.) The ear buds sit neatly into separate charging stations. When you open the small travel/charging case, the buds are winking at you already charged and set to synch with your device. The set-up is intuitive; but, download the app to tune into additional refinements that put memories of your old wireless units to bed. Connect with the EQ i.e. the sound equalizer that allows you to tailor the ambiance of your play list to your activity: Cool, laid back and meditative for my pre or post yoga set. Driving hard rock or funkenstein to blast the quads. Or, a Chick Corea or Pat Metheny to jazz a sunset hike on the beach. But, even MORE dope is that I can track the buds when they go missing, a real essential when flyin’ high without a net: hiking, biking or just chilling at the set. The bud locator IS a deeply appreciated net when transported by RUN XT into the world of unrestricted wireless. One bud flew off into the either only moments after I had them in my ears. Before I allowed an emotional meltdown to ruin my day, I remembered the trick on my app that located my right bud. It had dropped out of sight into my left boot. Phew! That moment put my right boot into my left buttock to sit me down for an immediate recess to do the fin trials. You gotta do this at first blush. Getting the fit right has saved me another future shock in the aftermath of an escaped bud …and, without fail, the ‘lost bud event’ always happens at that time-challenged moment, late for this or that, hyperventilating…“I know it’s here somewhere”!! The packaging rocks but the audio for talk, music, podcast et. al doesn’t disappoint: crisp, no lag, high rez for the ears. As indicated by a fully articulated back story at their website, Jaybird is really connected to the outdoor sports scene. Via product releases, marathons, competitions of all kinds, a cadre of top notch athletes and also us everyday blurbs share fitness programs, playlists and the gear that sports the ripped (and underway) results of dedication to optimal health. The app can even SHARE your playlist. Gifted my valentine! The Jaybird’s site elevates the self-care game with tips from building up to hard-driving workouts to tempered time-outs to prevent burn out. You can’t help but get splashed with a new level of ‘get out and get crumpin’ with a glistening sound track to your daily mix of deadlines and to do’s….a perfect balance that allows much needed relief from a political landscape that makes my humanist, nature-loving psyche wonder what back-to-medieval century has kicked in. If any glitches crop up, soft and/or hard resets are a press of the right earbud button, 3 or 6 seconds respectively. Left bud activates Siri or Google. Right bud has pairing and audio controls. Also only activate one bud if you need an unobstructed ear to split your focus for monitoring traffic or similar. With 2 additional recharge cycles, get up to 8 hours playtime. Don’t know how R+D did this but a 5 minute charge can give you up to 1 hour of playtime. This near nano chip tech is now sci-fi. Another crazy thing is that this gen of Jaybird has an increased tolerance for exposure to water, sweat, weather and even, as stated in the promo, an "accidental run through the washer". The new level of protection is added peace of mind, especially for interludes of stumble bum. I am Android; but, the specs boast Bluetooth compatibility with all other platforms.

Great for active use. Nice fit, sound, and battery

I have tried a few brands of true wireless headphones and these are my favorite to date. My main use case is workouts, but I also do some casual listening as well. To quickly sum it up, they have a nice design, are well-built, waterproof, have quite a few fit options, sound good, have generally good connectivity and have some solid battery life. All in all, a nice set of headphones. I have only had about a week with them, but to start, they have a nice build and I really appreciate the waterproofing. It is a nice piece of mind for headphones that will be around sweat, water…etc. The colors are nice, the design is low-key and the phones themselves are small and look great! Perfect for me. They also fit me quite well, partly because Jaybird gives you several fittings and sizes to help. Fit is so important with buds, for sound, comfort and in-ear “stay-ability.” I have struggled with several brands on this front, and I realize each person is different, but at least you have a good chance of a solid fit given the provided options. Connectivity. It is important. Where to start? I “generally” have had a good experience here, but there have been a few dropouts, and the pairing, while “good,” could be “better.” While the dropouts have been minimal, and quick to correct, they have happened. Further, and I guess this is not fair, but the pairing is not the “Apple Experience.” I can not help but wonder if Bluetooth 5 could have helped here. Ultimately, however, I still have had a good experience with these. Certainly, better than I have had with some other brands. As for sound quality, I am rather pleased. It is not “the best” you will hear, but for this class, it is quite good. They do sound a bit neutral out of the box, but once I got into the app and adjusted some EQ settings, I found they sounded much better to my ear. Battery life is as advertised and has been solid. 4 hours of use, with an additional 8 hours stored in the case (small-ish and a nice design) will cover most people. While I would love to see another hour of use time squeezed in there, the fact that you can get 1 hour of use on a 5-minute charge is a nice compromise. I do wish the cable was a little longer, and I REALLY wish it was a USB-C connection, but all in all, the battery and charging is great. Jaybird offers voice controls, physical controls on the phones themselves, call management…etc…with Siri and Google Assistant support, but honestly, these aren’t really things I use or have used. I mentioned it since it is nice that they offer these things and I am sure quite a few people use them. Ultimately, I like these headphones. They have pretty much everything you look for in a pair of wireless phones, do it all well and come from a reputable brand with a good history behind it. Design, sound quality, comfort, and battery all clicked for me. Check your use case, but if you are looking for wireless, sports/active headphones, these are worth a look.

    Connectivity Issues

    Posted .

At first I really liked my Jaybird’s, but within a few weeks of usage, I noticed they had connectivity problems especially with the left earbud. This became an issue especially when I was at the gym on the treadmill. I’d have to stop my music, then start it again, so that the bud would catch the connectivity to my music source. There were a few times that that didn’t work and I would have to completely disconnect the jaybirds from my phone, then re-connect them just to get the left one to work again. With all the continued problems, I decided to return them and get some different earbuds. I’m glad I bought the Best Buy extended warranty. I had no issues getting something different. I hope this doesn’t happen to everyone and that it was an isolated incident, cause I really liked the fit and sound of the jaybirds, but I couldn’t continue with the connectivity problems, it was too much of a drag.

      Hi 24patrick24,

We appreciate your positive feedback on the Jaybird Run XT's sound quality. We are sorry to hear that they disconnect and we'll be glad to help you out! Just send us an email at [email protected] and we will get you taken care of.

Please observe the buds to further isolate the issue, you can connect the buds to a different device or a device with a different OS. Resets are also recommended, I included both methods:

To soft reset your right earbud:

-Place your right earbud into the charge case and close the lid.
-Open the charge case and remove your earbud.

To hard reset your right earbud:

-Turn off your right earbud by pressing the right multifunction button for 3 seconds.
-With your right earbud off, press and hold the right multifunction button for 6 seconds until the LED flashes green.
-Double press the right multifunction button. The LED will flash orange and the earbud will turn off. Your earbud has now been reset.
-When you hard reset your earbuds, you will lose any saved presets and any saved devices on the paired list. You’ll need to forget Jaybird RUN in your phone's Bluetooth device list, repair your earbuds to your Bluetooth device, See How do I pair my Jaybird RUN earbuds? and reselect your favorite preset from the Jaybird app.

Great sound for compact wireless design

For the size and added features, these ear buds put out a very intense sound with a high exterior noise canceling effect. While the music was playing at a reasonable level, virtually all outside sounds were canceled out. Even with no audio playing, it is difficult to hear surrounding noises. Which is a plus in most cases, however I found myself constantly removing one bud to talk to people. These ear buds can be used in tandem, or just the right bud. Each has it's own power button. If you download the app, you can monitor each pieces battery level, and select from preset EQ settings, or customize your own. The app can even be linked to Spotify where you can listen to other workout playlists, or your own. The buds fit perfectly into my ear, out of the box, however they come with additional size adapters to accommodate virtually any ears size. The big plus is that these are completely waterproof (IPX7) and sweatproof , so no more worries about how to handle them during a long workout. Which also makes it easier to clean them. They still don't recommend swimming in them, as they are only rated for about 1 meter of water for 30mins or less. The battery life is about 4hours on a full charge, but the awesome part is that with just a 5minute charge you can get an hour worth of play. The included carry case is the best accessory for these buds, not only do the buds fit easily into them but they also charge right from the case. The case has it's own battery system for the buds to charge from. The case when fully charged can handle 2 full recharges to the buds. So that means when everything is fully charged you can get 12hours of playback, until needing a plug in from the wall. The buds can also be used to answer phone calls, or initiate the google assistant with a single tap to the right ear bud. With the addition of an ambient noise feature these buds would be perfect, but very pleased and impressed with them as is. -- also, just as a side not, at this time I have not experienced any connectivity issues, which use to be a problem on earlier models.

    Pleasantly Surprised

After reading some reviews on the performance of three connection and sound quality, I was a little skeptical. After a few weeks of owning these I must say I am pleasantly surprised by the quality. Since receiving these earbuds, I have only had 1 VERY brief connection interruption and it only lasted a few seconds and has not happened since. The comfort of the earbuds is also surprisingly positive and after 3 weeks of using these at the gym for an average of 2 hours each session, no discomfort has materialized. During run days, no issues with the earbuds falling out thoughi do recommend experimenting with the different tips and fins to find the right fit. I've also used these to watch movies on my phone and so far, no syncing issues as some have reported in other reviews. Overall, I am quite happy with this product and would certainly recommend.

The Jaybird Run XT earbuds are an updated version of the Jaybird Run model that preceded them. The biggest improvement over the original is improved water resistance. The Run XT sports the IPX7 water resistance rating which means it can withstand submersion to 1 meter for up to 30 minutes. Definitely not for swimming, but fantastic for a run in the rain. The battery life is the same as the original version. It is advertised as 4 hours, and this is what I've seen so far. The charging case also contains a battery which will charge the buds about 4 times, allowing 16 hours of use between charging the case. This has been plenty for me so far. Jaybird also claims that 5 minutes in the case will yield 1 hour of playtime. I've not yet tested this claim, but since their other claims regarding battery life and charging are spot on, I have no reason to doubt. My favorite things about these earbuds are the variety of fitting options included, and the ability to be free of wires. Jaybird includes interchangeable tips and fins, allowing me to wear them confidently, even though I have difficult to fit ears. The freedom from wires bit is self-explanatory! Finally, they sound great, and that's the most important thing for earbuds, right?

No different than the last version

To start off I had high hopes for this version. I am a heavy sweater and counted on the water-proof factor of these. I owned the first Jaybird Runs and if it were not for having the Geek Squad plan, I would never get another pair because I had to return the first generation 3 times. These suffer from exactly the same connectivity issues as the first generation. About 45 minutes into my run Run XT's automatically power off (has happened on multiple runs). This was only slightly better than the first series that did it after 30 minutes. I keep my IPhone X right in front of me and from time to time the left ear will stop working. Also, the XT's don't come with the little pouch that that the first series did (and they are more expensive). The only nice thing I can say is that they are most comfortable and have the best sound quality (when they work and stay on) than any workout earpods/headphones I have used. I am a frequent runner having done 13 half marathons, 1 full marathon and multiple smaller distance races last year alone. I need a set of reliable music listening devices. I would save your money and if you are stuck on getting a Jaybird brand item, buy the first generation RUN. They are basically the same and now and now about $30 cheaper (and you get the protective pouch). The customer service that Jaybird also offers is extremely poor. They are unhelpful and unfriendly, again the need for the Geek Squad plan.

Run XT vs Beoplay E8 V1

These have terrible audio distortion issues. I was trying to decide between the Jaybird XT and Beoplay E8 1.0 (highly discounted right now). I bought the Run XT first. I am a Jaybird fan. I have owned other Jaybird products before and I have always loved their sound quality and the ability to fine tune the EQ over their app. That said, these had terrible audio distortion issues. When there is only bass, the bass sounds good. When there are only high frequencies, they sound okay. When both bass and high frequencies play, the highs suffer terrible harmonic distortion. After researching this issue online, it seems like many Run XT owners have experienced this issue. Furthermore, I found that these earbuds do not support the acc codec. In case you don’t know, the acc codec is the high resolution audio codec for iphone users. I don’t know if this contributed to my terrible audio quality issue, but it makes me wonder. I ended up buying the b&o E8 to compare side by side. I am not going to lie, I went into the E8’s thinking I was going to dislike their audio quality. Wow, the Beo’s sound amazing. For those who want an appearance comparison. I prefer the Run XT’s over the E8’s, the are more oval than round, giving them a smaller look in your ear. Other than that, they pretty much way the same, have a similar overall size and feel in the ear. If the Run XT’s did not have the harmonic distortion issues, I would of kept them.

There is no match for these earbuds! I’ve owned Jabra, Powerbeats, JVC, and these are all out to shame by the Jaybird Run XT. The EQ app is phenomenal and the sensitivity is unreal. I listen to my music at 50% and it’s CRISP. I swear profusely while I workout and the earbuds hold put no matter what activity. My wife will be getting a pair.

The actual ear piece is the most amazing part when it comes to these headphones and the fact that they are quite comfortable. The convenience of automatically connecting to the phone when opened is a plus . Unfortunately the case housing is the cheapest and the poorest of quality. Don't look at the case to long or it will pop open and your ear buds will be on the ground. The fact you cant have one ear bud in without hearing an annoying beeping is just poor security measures and judgement on the engineers. If you take these to the gym, You will get a lot of in and out sounds.the imbalance is annoying. The calling quality is to low. I have had them about a month and hate them. very cheap feel to them for the price. Do not waste your money or time especially if you go to the gym.

    All Around Best

I waited a couple of weeks to write this review to give these buds an honest chance to win me over or fail my heart. I first bought the Bose truly wireless earbuds before these. They were too bulky and wouldn’t stay in my ears. I was highly disappointed because those are the ones I really wanted. When I took them back these Jaybirds had just arrived and despite the sales guy recommending I get another brand, I opted for the Jaybirds just to see if they would be up to par. Here’s what I found about the Jaybirds over the last few days: 1. They fit perfectly. This was my first priority, due to the fact that if they don’t stay in my ear it won’t matter how good they sound because they’d be lying on a dirty gym floor or the mud or in the toilet (never know...). There are times that after prolonged use my ears start to ache, but the aching comes after about an hour and half or two. Other than that they fit very snug and I hardly ever have to adjust them. Never have they come close to dislodging or falling out. I had power beats before these and they fell out constantly, hated it because they sounded fairly good. 2. The sound. When I first put them on and played music they sounded terrible. I’m not sure if it was the connection, or the fact that they needed time to “warm up” but after a few songs they started to sounded exponentially better. The next thing I noticed was that the sound of each song sounded flat with little bass. My previous two earbuds (power beats and Sony’s with extra bass) packed a punch. This is when I discovered that there’s a free app to download, which compliments these buds perfectly. You can adjust the eq...amazing. I found my perfect “sound” and now they sound better than my power beats ever did with plenty of great sounding bass. The mids and highs are also great for the size of these as well. 3. They’re hard to lose. You can track them on their app, so virtually can’t lose them. 4. Waterproof. I wore these in the shower because I could. Felt weird listening to great music while washing myself. Probably won’t do that again tbh, but I do wear these at the gym and sauna, lots of sweat no issues. So huge plus. 5. Battery. I haven’t come close to draining the battery. I think because even after a two hour gym session I just throw these into their case and they start charging again, it’s fairly fool proof so you shouldn’t ever be stuck with low batteries, you just need to charge the case every few days or weeks. 6. The look and design. Honestly, these look really good. Very sleek and sporty. I don’t feel like a freak or Frankenstein wearing them out. They honestly look great and feel minimal. 7. Clear calls. I didn’t buy these to make calls but tried it a few times and everyone said they could hear me just fine. Added bonus for me. I wanted to try other truly wireless earbuds but no other buds on the market can hit all of these points without falling out of your ear or breaking down due to sweat and heavy use. I would pick these up and give them a fair shot, three days minimum. You can always take them back. Don’t think you will.

Good sound quality but not much more

Other than good sound quality which, I expected from Jaybird, I'm more irritated with these headphones than anything else. Lags horribly, sometimes they won't connect or one will and not the other, more often than not they don't respond when I'm trying to skip through music, and the battery life is pretty bad. On top of all that they are pretty bulky and get caught on my clothes and get pulled on easily. Returning them to go back to the wired "wireless" style. Very unimpressed.

The original Jaybird Run headphone were very good. Great sound, comfort, stability and consistent connection. These new XT are even better. Sound has improved and they are now fully waterproof. Very happy with the headsets and will continue to shop Jaybird first

Great Audio, Tons of Lag on Video Playback

The sound quality and level of control that the app provides is excellent. I find the earbuds very comfortable. i purchased them because of their ip7 rating. Unfortunately there is a huge audio delay when watching video. It makes them useless for watching a movie or youtube. Can’t recommend this product until this issue is resolved.
