Great sounding earbuds. Cord way to small

The Headphones sound very good! I like the look and feel of them. The app for the sound profile is easy to use and works very well. The only con I have is the cord is too short for my fat neck and I can barely get the magnets to connect. The sound isolation is pretty good but gives me a headache. (This is mainly me). I am going to return them, not because I don't like the sound quality! Too short of cord and giving me a headache so they have to go. Sorry Jaybird!

I've been a fan of jaybird's products for years, and the Tarah Pros are the best to date. Great sound quality and amazing battery life. Jaybird customer service is also outstanding. Highly recommended for anyone considering these. Very much worth the price.

I have had these earbuds for about three weeks now. I am a professional musician and I love the sound. It is very clear and balanced. The battery life is fantastic and they charge really fast. I have been appreciating the quick 5 min charge option more than I originally thought I would. Another big plus for me is how easy switching between devices is. I read somewhere on line that the EQ settings you set on the app are actually saved on the earbuds even when switching to other devices. The fit of the earbuds is perfect for me. I am really excited to start running with these. I have only tried them on the rowing machine so far and I didn't notice them falling out at all. Personally, I like that these are attached by a cord in case one falls out while I'm doing cardio. The braided cord is also very nice because it will be harder for my cockatiel to destroy. I took off a star because I do have a few minor complaints. The first of which may very well be the fault of my computer. The bluetooth connection seems to work really well with my iPhone 7 and Apple Watch Series 4. However, I do get a bit of crackle with my 2013 MacBook Pro. My suspicion is that this happens because the computer is older. The other issue I have has to do with the cord. I wish these headphones had the same option to tie up the cord in the back as the Jaybird X4. The only way to bring the cords together is to have a big loop in the back. This gets caught in my long hair or on a hood sometimes and causes the earbuds to tug. Overall, I would recommend. I would also buy these again because they suit all of my needs.

    Good but not great

They spend alot of time and effort on the music quality but not as much on the functionality. I have to keep my phone on vibrate most of the time. It doesn't have anyway to notify you when a text comes in. More than once a call has come through no notification sounds at all. I was a lg bluetooth user for many years and enjoyed the fact lg would tell you who was calling read your text or other notifications. It allowed you to continue doing what you wanted to and be able to determine if you needed to answer the call or reply to the text immediately or if it could wait. With the tarah pro. You might miss a call if you are away from your phone and don't see it flash or vibrate. If it's in your pocket you feel it vibrate you have to stop what you're doing pull it out just to read I'm stuck in traffic or the mail came. Definitely am impressed by the amount of effort they have put into music quality but need to understand these are supposed to be functional as well.

I’ve owned Jaybird2 & 3 and Torah Pro and I think the 3’s are best. The Torah Pro has a piece of hard plastic on the earpiece that is designed to hold the silicone tips, which are now combined tip and wing. They become very uncomfortable after about 30 minutes. I didn’t like the Jaybird 3’s because the wing tips were too hard. My solution was to put the tips from the Pro on the JB3’s and now the 3’s are perfect! The tips do not need anything to hold them in place. Jay bird should re-design the Pro without the piece to hold the tips. It is not needed. Plus I get better range with my WiFi with the silicone tips. Sound-wise they are good. I don’t like the cord on the Pro’s either. It has a built in cord controller that is bulky and gets caught on my clothing.

These will not fit extra small ears!

    Posted .
This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.

The 'small' earbud tips will not fit your ears if you have tiny ear canals. I had to buy extra small ear bud tips and wings from amazon to hold them in in order for them to fit. After an extra $20 in accessories I can finally use them. I really like the headphones and I don't regret buying them, but it would be nice if Jaybird offered an extra small option for ear bud tips. I would've rather paid more for an additional sized tip from Jaybird themselves rather than having to search and order things via trial and error on Amazon. Overall, I really like the sound and the app is great for customizing. People with small ears beware!

    READ THIS BEFORE BUYING

So I have had these headphones for about 3 months now. When I first had them they started off perfect. Amazing sound quality and isolation. Long lasting battery. Quick Bluetooth connection and microphone sound. In the past few weeks I’ve seen a few minor issues here and there. Sound would randomly cut out for a second or two. They would not connect to my iPhone when turning them on, so I’d have to “forget” the Bluetooth device from my phone to work. Just a couple minor things that were slightly annoying. Just recently I have been completely unable to turn on the headphones even though they’ve had a full charge. And now the headphones will not search for a Bluetooth device when I turn them on. Currently as I’m writing this the headphones are unusable. If you google “tarah pro headphones won’t turn on” or “tarah pro won’t connect to device” you’ll find dozens of pages on their support site claiming these issues but if you click on the links they all come up as “this page does not exists anymore”. Either Jaybird is having issue with their support site, or they’re deleting all of these pages... I’ll be attempting to completely return these to Best Buy this weekend.

I've owned 5 pairs of jaybird headphones over the past 6 years. These Tarah pro's are definitely the best ones yet. I really love the over 12 hours of battery life. My only complaint is that mine are already broken, after only 3 months! I've always gotten my x3's to last a year and a half, but never had a pair break this quickly. Yes, I always pay extra for the two year warranty. You'd be crazy not to because there is no way any jaybird product will make it to the 2 year mark.

This is my third pair of Jaybird headphones, I'm a fan. When I saw the Tarah Pro had a 14-hour battery life, I was all in. I have the headphones now for a month - great sound, but the battery life is much less than expected. I'm getting close to 9 hours of play, 65% of the advertised 14 hours. Maybe my Tarah Pro's are defective? If you are buying for long battery life, 9 hours is good...but it's not 14.

      Hi evansmme,

Thank you for being a Jaybird fan and great to hear you're liking the sound of your Tarah Pro.

On a full charge, Tarah Pro should be giving you 14 hours playtime. Some factors like extreme temperature and volume can influence this. As you mention in your follow-up, you're listening at about 50% volume so please email [email protected] and we can look into this further for you.

We look forward to getting you that 14 hours and keeping you as a Jaybird fan!

Great Sounding Headphones But Don't Work on PC

As all of the other reviews say, the sound on these headphones is great and they are extremely easy to set up on your phone. My issue, however, is that the headphones do not connect properly to either of my computers. I am able to pair them via Bluetooth, but they are not recognized as an audio device. I did not have this issue with the X2s I had, so this is extremely disappointing.

Solid Start to a Potential Great Bluetooth Headset

    Posted .
This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.

I purchased these mainly for long distance travel on the airplane and also some workout. They lasted about 10 hours on the plane before I got the "battery low" message which is pretty good for Bluetooth headset. There are pluses and minuses to the design. The pluses are the fabric cord doesn't tend to get caught, the "wings" that go into your ear keep them securely in place and help for the best sound, finally there are a number of sizes for the rubber ear tips to conform individually. The minuses are the tab on the cord you can adjust to make it fit tighter to the neck DOES grab onto clothes, the "wings" on the earbuds left my ears very sore after about an hour and a half of use. I had to keep pulling one out so I could relieve the pain in one ear and still hear with the other. Finally, even with the customizable EQ in the app, I was largely unsatisfied with the volume level (too low) and the quality I got out of these earbuds. It just wasn't a satisfying sound for me. I rather miss my corded earbuds that were an issue with falling out of my ears, but the sound quality was way better as well as the volume levels. In short, it's a solid start to this type of earbud but if you're an audiophile I'd keep looking - especially given the price.

I had these headphones since February this year. I enjoyed them a lot when i first got them. The ear piece fit perfectly for my big ear canal and the sound quality was good. The braided cable make it durable and having the adjustable cinch made things easier. Pairing it to the phone was quick and easy. The only bad thing about this headphone is that the media control cover came off from heat and sweat. The rubber cover expanded so i can't glue them back together. For a $160 headphones, they are not worth it. I won't purchase another jaybird ever again, because of their build quality.

I use this daily at the gym. When another person using Bluetooth headphones walks by me, the Bluetooth constantly cuts out. The battery life is spectacular but it cuts out too frequently. When the gym is super packed I just take them off because it sounds like a scratched cd. I only have this issue at the gym, if I run on an empty trail they work fine. I feel for the high cost they aren’t worth it for having such a basic issue

    They last

This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.

Let me start by saying I owned 2 pairs of jaybird freedom gold finish and they both broke. The tarah pro has a long battery life as advertised but that’s if you can stand wearing them for any longer than 3 hours I feel like I’m stretching my ears to an inch again, and the little hard plastic tab that holds the ear condom on stabs your canal the whole time. They are strangely angled I really really really really really wish these had regular ear buds. These would be 100% flawless. Oh and a legend for battery light indicator the battery would be cool because I left mine charging all night thanks to lack of instruction booklet

Tarah Pro's are amazing - until they break

    Posted .
This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.

You'll see many great reviews. These are people that have owned these headphones for a couple of weeks, and love them, as I did. Unfortunately, these expensive headphones are possibly the least durable that Jaybird has ever made (I've owned the X2's, and the X3's in the past). My Tarah pro's made it exactly two months, before they were completely dead. First, about a week ago, the left headphone started making a horrible crackling noise, constantly. I knew they were probably on their way out. Within 4 more days, they wouldn't' even turn on, despite having a full charge. Even if you get the 2 years extended warranty (for about $50), once you get a replacement, your warranty is void. In other words, you'll have to pay another $50 in order to get a new warranty. This is very annoying because as I said, these lasted me for only 2 months. I now have a brand new pair, but I really hope they can last more than 2 months, considering the price of these. If you buy them, please, please, please get a warranty. You're crazy if you don't, because no jaybird product will ever make it to the 2 year mark, (based on my 6 year experience with these headphones.)

      Hi abcdefg,

We are sorry to hear that the Jaybird Tarah Pro stopped working and we'll be glad to help you out! Just send us an email at [email protected] and we will get you taken care of.

Please follow the recommendations below to resolve the issue with your headset:

      - Computers are the best and safest method, as is anything 1 AMP or less.
      - Try a different power source/charger
      - Car chargers produce a much greater power supply and should be avoided.
      - Over-charging the battery will quickly reduce the life of the headphones, so in addition to monitoring the power supply, limit the charge time to 2 hours,
      - To get the most out of your battery it is recommended to charge the buds when the low battery status is indicated.
      - Avoid charging your headphones after exposure to sweat.
      - Make sure charging port/cradle is clear of any debris.

Not available when I need them and no earbud choic

    Posted .
This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.

I use my headphones all day for music, phone calls, videos and want them to be on and ready when I need them. Why else would I buy a set for $160 with a 14 hour battery. There are no settings control except the eq. These headphones try to save battery so much they shut off if you don't use them for 15min and when they are on if you aren't listening to something right then it constantly disconnects then you hear 'headphones connected' as you surf the web or check emails. When the phone rings they might be on or they might be off. There's no way to tell. Want to play a quick clip privately... good luck guessing if they are connected right then or not. I have paused a video for 30 seconds clicked play and it played out loud because they disconnected "to save battery". I contacted jaybird and they just say it's to save battery. It's annoying and I'm returning them. At least give us control in the app. I want them to be available when I need them. Why else put a battery that large in them. Ridiculous! I have had every model of Jaybirds since bluebuds except the Runs and regular Tarahs. They have the good Jaybird sound when they connected ( that's why 2 stars and not 1)but I'm very disappointed especially at $160!
