    Is this a joke?

How do these possibly cost as much as they do? They're bar none the worst sounding headphones I've ever used. On top of being entirely too quiet there's no presence to the sound at all. Every EQ option just shifts around an overall tinny and lifeless sound that simply should not be coming from a $100 pair of headphones. Second, and nobody is telling you this up front, you can't just plug a USB cable into these and charge them like every other pair of wireless headphones like these. It comes with a tiny proprietary charging dock attachment that costs $20 to replace when you inevitably lose it. Third, the "find" feature on the app only tells you the GPS location of your headphones. So like... it will give you an aerial view of your house from space instead of helping you locate it in your house. It's beyond useless for 99.99999% of all use cases.

Not very long before they become flaky

    Posted .
This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.

These are too expensive to be flaking only months after very light usage. Having difficulty with the headphones responding to button presses. No sound just buzzing sometimes. From what I've read of others who are having troubles, the manufacturers responses is that these ear phones are damaged during charging. I have only used laptop usb ports for charging which, they reccomend because of the low voltage, I have faithfully watched so I could unplug as soon as it was charged and still these things are flaking. I did buy the extra warranty just in case and will have to use it. But who knows how long the second pair will last. I will not buy these again. I thought if I was careful with charging I could avoid what others were complaining about, but it looks like JayBird knows of these issues and has no plans to fix them. I love the convience of bluetooth earphones, but they are not ready for primetime. I like the swivel of the ear piece so you can wear them over the ear or traditional.

    I had high hopes

Well after having my Tarah Pro for less than 24 hours I am disappointed to say the least. I cant turn on or do anything with the headphones already. And looking around on the internet it seems that issues with these becoming unresponsive isnt abnormal. I cant turn them back on or pair them again. And after 20 minutes of fiddling when you get them to turn on and pair, they unpair and shut off 5-10 seconds later. And the only real customer service troubleshooting help is from a fellow named Bruce who tells everyone the same thing. Charge from a computer (already a problem, I shouldn't have to charge from a computer). They say this is because most chargers are too powerful and will break the headphones. If that is the case they should ship a charger too. Dont use a car charger. Another problem, some of us are always on the go. I live in my car when I am on the road.. what am I supposed to do? And then Bruce also tells you how to reset your headphones. This would be really useful if I could even get the headphones to really turn on. And when I can get them to turn on for 5 seconds or so the reset process doesn't work. What a pain. tl;dr These headphones have problems and they cant be fixed. I wouldn't recommend buying these mostly because of their problems working.

I almost never leave reviews, however I feel it is necessary to warn others about these headphones. I purchased these a few months ago. They are OK, Sound quality is maybe above average and the app is nice. HOWEVER, they use a proprietary charge that THEY DO NOT STOCK. What that means is that if you lose the charger IT CANNOT BE REPLACED AND YOU CANNOT USE YOUR HEADPHONES. Jaybird lost a long-time (>6 year) customer with this nonsense. Ridiculous.

I just opened the package & the earbuds don’t fit in my ears at all. I tried all the sizes but they just won’t stay in. The shape of the buds is kind of weird. Doesn’t work for me. Haven’t had a chance to hear sound quality because the product had zero charge. Pretty bummed so far though.

I am now on my 4th set of these headphones. The rubber on the controls peel up and they are not longer usable. This has happened to 2 pairs and on the 3rd pair they stopped charging after 1 month. I don't use them in any extreme way, just sitting at my desk at work. They sound great but i know as soon as my 1 year warranty is up they will quit sending me replacements and I will need to spend $200 on a new pair that will not be Jaybird.

      Hi Motaman,

We appreciate your feedback with your Jaybird Tarah Pro's battery life and sound quality. We're sorry to hear that they did not meet your expectations with regard to call audio quality. Please send us an email at [email protected] and we will get you taken care of.

If you’re getting complaints from the party on the other side of a call with your Tarah earbuds, try the following as applicable:

-Use the included Tarah Pro shirt clip to keep the microphone or inline remote from swaying or rubbing on your clothing.
-If you’re doing something active, try pausing the activity for the duration of the call.
-If you are in the noisy area, try moving to somewhere quieter.
-Try bringing the microphone close to your mouth.

These earbuds are crap! Got a pair last year for Christmas they were great until I had them for almost a year then they stopped working. Went on he Jaybird website and reset them hey worked for a short time then had to reset them again. Contacted Jaybird and it took them 3 weeks to get back to me and then gave me the run around. Three months later I finally got a replacement pair!

I bought these since they had overall good reviews. However, maybe I had bad luck, but mine keep giving me problems connecting to Bluetooth devices. If I can get them to connect, then stop using them and they won't reconnect. Very frustrating considering these were not cheap at all. The battery is good though.

I bought these phones after a lot of research on Best Buy, I was highly doubtful of these but purchased them because of the reviews. I held on to them unopened until the new year -- that's how uncertain I was of them. Finally I decided to open them. First impression -- they didn't work out of the box. I had to charge them. Once that was done, they connected to my iPhone easily. Ear-fit is ok but that's all, ok. Wireless is nice and they are certainly loud enough. Base response from a sealed ear is sadly missing since the piece does not seal my ear at all. Now to the software. It does not work, not at all. It does not find my earbuds and that's where it ends. So I'm listening to the default settings with no ability to anything as promised. So this is the end of story for this user --- this product is a total fail and these are going back to Best Buy as defective. So sad because they had a lot of potential.

Do not expect to make phone calls with this device as it does not support HD calling. When you use voice over LTE the volume of the recipient is barely audiable. I even called support and tried to get the issue fixed but they were no help. So if you use a Note 8 or S8 you will not be able to make phone calls. Also the fit of the ear tips could be greatly improved as they are uncomfortable over long durations. If they had just a standard tip with no wing option it would be considerably more comfortable.

Just as bad as my first set!

This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.

I returned my first set after they died a month into ownership. My second set died after roughly the same length of time. When you combine a lack of reliability with underwhelming daily performance, you get a product and a company I can’t recommend. It’s a shame. They are an ergonomic masterpiece. The quality is embarrassing. These had marginal sound quality and cut out at least a few times per workout from some kind of interference. Just like my other set, they abruptly stopped pairing with my phone and couldn’t be paired with my girlfriend’s phone either. After being burned twice, I’m done.

    Do Not Buy

These are the worst headphones I have ever owned. For the price point they really ripping you off. 1 - The cord is FAR too short 2 - if you would like to also use these for phone conversations GOOD LUCK, no one can hear you and it's impossible to not have background noise interrupt every conversation. 3 - But the biggest issue is they do not come with a replacement charger. That is right, it is a propitiative charge that has no replacement. SO these $150 headphones are going right in the trash because I can not charge them. I suggest if your gonna spend the money GO BOSE.

Worst most expensive headphones I've ever bought

    Posted .
This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.

I've replaced these poorly engineered headphones three times now and am going to tomorrow to replace them again. If you charge them even once on a charger that is more then one amp you will fry the circuits. They pop every 5 to ten seconds while you are listening to music and it just drives me crazy. My last pair had a ringing noise and you couldn't do anything, you couldn't turn them off and they wouldn't play music. I hate this brad and I hate these headphones.

These 200$ headphones broke for no reason almost immediately. Thank God I got the protection plan but these are Trash with a capital T. You've been warned.

      Hi Matt,

We are sorry to hear that your Jaybird Tarah Pro disconnects and we'll be glad to help you out! Just send us an email at [email protected] and we will get you taken care of.

Please try the following suggestions to resolve the issue of your headset:

-Move your earbuds and your Bluetooth audio device closer as you may be experiencing Bluetooth interference. While the range of most Bluetooth devices is 10 meters (33 feet), the optimal range for any Bluetooth stereo device is about 60 centimeters (2 feet) from the audio source.
-Your earbuds Bluetooth antenna is located in the inline remote. Try moving your audio device closer to the side where the inline remote is located. For example, you can try moving your audio device to your right pocket instead of your left.
-Reset your Bluetooth connection by turning your device's Bluetooth off for one minute and then back on.
-Turn your audio device off and then back on.
-Complete a reset of your earbuds.
